“Expect to be spellbound”* by Patricia Briggs’s #1 New York Times bestselling series starring Mercy Thompson. Being a lowly “walker” in a world of vampires, werewolves, and fae once kept her safe. But Mercy’s bark—and bite—are not so harmless any more… mentor, Zee, asks for her help, she’s there for him. A series of murders has rocked a fae reservation, and Zee needs her unique gifts, namely her coyote sense of smell, to sniff out the killer.
But when Zee is accused of murdering the suspect Mercy outed, he’s left to rot behind bars by his own kind. Now it’s up to Mercy to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not.
Mercy’s loyalty is under pressure from other directions, too. Werewolves are not known for their patience, and if Mercy can’t decide between the two she cares for, Sam and Adam may make the choice for her…

This review has some spoilers.
Iron Kissed is book three in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Each book continues the ongoing adventure with our coyote shifter, Mercy, where we continue to develop the characters, relationships, and world.
I LOVE this series. I LOVE Mercy! She’s a kick-ass heroine. She knows she shouldn’t get involved in Fae affairs, but she can’t help; wanting to help her friend and someone she cares about.
In Iron Kissed we dive into the Fae reservation and learn about some of their secrets.
Briggs writes a world that isn’t too different from ours. I think why I love Mercy so much is that she’s a regular women dealing with the same issues we do, who happens to be a coyote shifter, and gets caught up in another world.
We get to see more of the Fae and learn about some of their secrets. New characters are introduced and old favorites become more intriguing. Briggs features a rape scene in this novel. To see Mercy, a strong and capable women, go through this, well it broke my heart. The emotional struggles she and all the characters go through during and after the incident is heartbreaking. I’ve re-read/listened to this novel many times and I new this scene was coming, but it doesn’t make it easier. Briggs does this scene justice and shares the emotional struggles well. Oh my, Ben. I like him more after this novel. We see more of him, learn more about his past, and we see him stand up to Adam to explain, in his way, what Mercy is going through and tells Adam that he needs to fight for her or lose her.
Briggs finally addressed the whole Adam/Sam love issue and she did it well. She manages to write it so that Mercy finally chooses Adam, but still doesn’t disregard Samuel whom she once loved in the past.
Narration: Lorelei King is a spectacular narrater. She does a wonderful job with the storyline and characters. I love her voices for everyone.
This is one of my favorite series and I’ve re-read/listened to it multiple times. This novel is a delight each and every time I read/listen to it. I highly recommend this Urban Fantasy series either reading or listening. Don’t hesitate to pick up this series.
Rated: 4.5 Stars
This book makes me so emotional. I cry every time I read it.
The focus of this book is finding a fae killer and missing artifacts. Along the way Mercy finally admits her feelings for Adam. Their new relationship also gets tested in this book but we see them overcome it and become stronger.
Catching the killer brings about pain and trauma but in the end everyone is safe. I love how strong Mercy is in this one. She may have been beaten down but she will prevail.
Great series.
Read them all just waiting for the next one to come out
I REALLY love Zee as a secondary character. He’s seriously awesome. At this book, I’m rooting for Adam, though I am kind of wishing I saw when Adam decided she was his.
I love the characters.
I’ve been reading the Mercy Thompson books for years, and this one really punched me in the gut. No matter how many times I re-read it, it brings home the fact that even our most badass women don’t have a charmed life. Honestly, the story is so gripping and I still have a hard time reading every page, but the messages and the struggles in this book develop Mercy and Adam and Ben as characters. I love that this is something that is dealt with and addressed in a setting that can be relatable to others, at the same time as it is empowering.
Great
While still good, I did not enjoy this book as much as the first two in the series. This entry in the Mercy Thompson series has more angst and less sass than the previous two books. A large part of this heaviness is caused by the weight Mercy is feeling as Zee is accused of murder, and the love triangle she is embroiled in finds a resolution.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Iron kissed by Patricia Briggs is the third book in the Mercy Thompson series. I read this book back in 2008 and had almost forgotten how much I loved and hated this book! The re-read of this book went a lot better for me and I found myself understanding the importance and impact of these events for Mercy’s character development. Doesn’t make me any happier, but it definitely made a difference in my attitude towards the read. I loved that Zee is a big part of the storyline and we get more information on his background and the Fae. I think this book gave me a deeper love for the series in general and a greater appreciation for Patricia Briggs’ ability to navigate relevant situations. Grab a seat, a strong drink and a box of tissues!
This series and world just continues to get better and better. This is definitely my favorite of them all, even though it gutted me. I am so glad I finally took the dive into this series.
I adore Mercy. She is exactly the kind of heroine I just love. Feisty and sassy and strong and never willing to back down. She doesn’t give up on those she loves and she will fight until the end. Mercy goes through a lot in this book and what she endured absolutely broke my heart. But she is a fighter and a survivor and she lets nothing stop her. And then there is Adam who has just absolutely stolen my heart. He has won me over big time and I adore him. He is strong and grumpy and cranky and so alpha, but also sweet and caring and while he wants Mercy safe he never wants to hold her back or tell her how to live her life. I want these two to work in the worst way. But I also love me some Sam. He is such a sweetheart and has a real heart of hold and I want to take him home with me and love him.
The secondary characters have really won me over as well. I love Warren and Kyle so much. Zee is just the best and I find him fascinating. And man oh man has Ben won me over. He was a surprise, but I’ve come to just absolutely love him.
Iron Kissed was another great addition to the Mercyverse. I’m a few books in now, but I have no desire to stop anytime soon. Just give me all the answers and give me some more Mercy and Adam!
Iron Kissed is the third book in the Mercy Thompson series and oh my gosh this book was just so good. This series just keeps getting better and better. I just can’t get enough of Mercy. She has just made me a part of her family and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
An amazing blend of characters and storyline. I highly recommend this book.

This is one of my favorite series ever. Mercy is just one of those characters that you can’t help but love and laugh with. I reread these books on a regular basis and can never get enough of them.
