A new enemies-to-lovers standalone.Byron Crowne is a charming liar and a gorgeous monster. I detest him.I can’t resist him. He’s awakened desires I didn’t know I had. When he touches me, I need to fight him . . . and I need him to win.Our one night stand bruises my skin and leaves dents in the walls, but the sheets aren’t the only thing we shred that night. And suddenly, the stakes are higher than … night.

Olivia Monroe lights a fire in me that died a long time ago.
I’m a different man when I’m with her. I need to own her, take her, mark her as mine.
Everything changes when she might be pregnant and for the first time in my life…I’m powerless against this stubborn, untamable woman.
She’s the one in control and I have an impossible job:
Prove I’m worthy to be a father.more
If you’re looking for a fantastic enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of feels, you’ve come to the right place.
Byron is the kind of hero you love to hate but secretly love even more. He can be overbearing, cocky, pushy, and downright infuriating. But get to know him better and you’ll see through the walls he’s built up around himself. He’s a good guy with a heavy heart and so much love to give if he can get past his own fears.
Olivia is everything you want in a strong heroine. She’s tough, intelligent, determined, and unafraid. She knows what she wants out of life and isn’t afraid to go after it on her own. She’s unwavering.
There’s a thin line between love and hate, and Byron and Olivia tightrope across it at every encounter. There’s so much heat, passion, and competition between them that you never know how each meeting will play out. They’re fiery and unpredictable, but together they’re also exactly what the other needs.
This book is a highly recommended read. I can’t wait to read more from this family.
It was a bit of a slow start for me…. but once it got going I was all in! Getting mad at the adulting I needed to do and everything! Byron was absolutely HOT AF! And the things that he does to go about getting Olivia to believe that he could be a good father were super swoon worthy….while he is telling her that he can’t love her….. and I am so ready to read Logan’s story! After some of the crap that he pulled in this book I can not wait to see some woman bring him to his knees! It was such a great book! I really loved all of the people that were involved and I would totally love to hear so much more about so many of them! Can’t wait for the next book!
I was woefully unprepared for this book.
So debating what to say. I knew it involved a lawyer. Some environmental issues and a huge house.
I had no idea it was going to be such a phenomenal ride.
It has everything.

I mean. Come on! This book owned me. Happily.
I adored this and highly recommend!
CD Reiss
Enemies to lovers or any other trope, CD Reiss is a go to read for me. Don’t miss Iron Crowne!
CD Reiss never disappoints. This enemies to lovers romance is scorching hot and passionate. I love the push and pull relationship between Byron and Olivia. It reminds me a little of the couples in the Submission and Games series. This is CD Reiss at her best!
As a first time reader of Ms. Reiss, I didn’t know what to expect from this book. I knew from previous reviews that she is an amazing author of really great stories. So quivering with anticipation, I crack open this book, Iron Crowne. Lo and behold, you have a new convert.
I was hooked by Ms. Reiss’ poetic/ lyrical style of writing, off the charts steam level and engaging storyline. Ladies, watch out. Lord Byron is your next book boyfriend. His cockiness, filthy mouth and alpha ways will melt your resistance faster than you can say yes. I’m a big fan of enemies-to-lovers trope, and the author had her own spin with these two insanely strong willed, competitive but beautifully broken characters. I loved it and can’t wait for more from this author!
C.D. Reiss did a great job on this story. Iron Crowne was a great story, the plot was strong, it was written well. It was packed with many emotions. Byron and Olivia were strong characters, both were strong willed, hardheaded fighters. They were drawn to each other because they were perfectly matched even though they had their issues. They were good for one another. Their chemistry was off the charts, it was sexy.
Nothing was easy with these two, their relationship was like a rollercoaster, they had many bumps but they were great together.
This was a great story. I’d recommend reading it. I enjoyed it.
I’m looking forward to reading more. Thank you, C.D. Reiss. Great work 🙂
CD Reiss writes books with amazing multi-layered characters that just speak to you. Olivia, beautiful and smart, determined to lead her life based on her past, winning until the end. Byron, a Crowne in name and stature, trying to run from his past by winning at everything. Swords drawn, lines in the sand made but nothing can stop the sizzling attraction between them. Can they both get what they want and need from each other? I didn’t want to put this story down. Cannot wait for more in the series.
“…the gentleman was the source of my doubts but the animal was the supplier of my lust.” ~ Olivia
Iron Crowne is author C.D. Reiss’ latest masterpiece. This enemies-to-lovers romance has all kinds of interesting twists that intrigued me, And the opening scene…it hooked me.
Sparks fly immediately between the main characters, Byron and Olivia, but those sparks are antagonistic and filled with acrimony. Both of these strong-willed characters are prepared for a battle to the death for whatever they want professionally, but what of the toll to their personal life?
Yes, Byron Crowne’s public persona is atrocious, and we’re meant to find him obnoxious. However, Ms. Reiss quickly gives readers a reason to find Bryon worthy of sympathy. She showed Byron the ruthless businessman juxtapose to the vulnerable man who holds a deep guilt that makes him feel unworthy of a woman’s love.
Olivia Monroe is an attorney with the Environmental Protection Fund. She is every bit as ruthless as her opponents in the courtroom. Her strength comes from her convictions. Olivia is given many attributes to admire, but I still found it difficult to like the character. I liked her independence, but I didn’t care for her seemingly constant anger and brash manner. I didn’t like her incredibly selfish choices that made her seem like a bad friend. However, by the second half of the book, I did appreciate her personal battles, and I could see what a toll they took on her.
The secondary characters are great. I loved Byron’s large, close-knit family as well as Olivia’s tight posse. I am really hoping to revisit these characters in the author’s next book.
Iron Crowne is filled with the usual great analogies and silky, evocative descriptions that I’ve come to expect from the author. Ms. Reiss has a way with words, and I can count on her prose being melodic, no matter the subject matter. Her writing never fails to draw me into her story. Read this book for its intense, raw emotionality.
4.5 stars
Bryon Crowne is a hot alpha male who doesn’t believe he can love anyone. Olivia just wants to save the environment and have a baby. When they clash over a building project sparks fly between them, as never seen before. The verbal sparring is foreplay, that lead them down a trick path fought with emotional land mines.
Reiss world building is amazing, with main characters that are human with flaws that make them so much more endearing. Her secondary characters you root for and can’t wait to see them get their own stories.
I crown this book with love! 4 stars
I loved this enemies to lovers story! Olivia and Byron have chemistry from the moment they meet, and I couldn’t read fast enough to see how it was going to unfold between them. Hate sexy times are so hot! It took a little bit for me to warm up to Olivia because she seemed judgey, but once I started to see her layers I liked her. She is smart, tenacious and loyal, and I admired those qualities in her. She frustrated me for a bit again, because she was ashamed by something I didn’t think she needed to be. Then she put herself out there to Byron, and I liked her again! Byron is not the type of guy she usually goes for, and I think that she needed something different to wake her up. Byron fascinated me and that never wavered throughout the story. There is a reason he says he doesn’t feel anything anymore which I will not spoil, but my heart broke for him because of this and how he talks about himself. I loved that Olivia’s feistiness woke him up too. He is commanding, arrogant, possessive, and sexy as can be, but when he started quoting poetry he made me swoon! They are perfect for each other, and they just needed to realize it! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it!
I received a copy of this ebook from Social Butterfly PR for my honest review.
The Queen is BACK. One of my favorites of 2019.
I first discovered this author years ago by way of a character named Jonathan Drazen. I was hooked. I devoured everything during a time that I was drowning in 22 credits, trying to keep my honor roll status, and sleep was an anomaly. Yet, I couldn’t stop myself from devouring anything that this author wrote because this woman is on a level that many authors only strive to achieve. I have read almost every book that she has ever written but somehow they didn’t quite measure up to my man Jonathan. Well, that definitely changed in this book because SWEET HOLY TITFIRE, dear old Jonathan has competition. Byron Crowne was everything decadent, delicious, devious, & downright dreamy. (My former literature professors would be so proud of me for that alliteration. Very glad my degree paid off). I digress..
This book had all the elements that I have come to expect from this author. The story was well crafted, had fierce characters that didn’t give two pinches of squirrel crap if they seemed callous, cut-throat, or calculating, and culminated with sexual tension that teetered on obscene. The push and pull between the characters was everything. The subtle influences and references to the romantic era: from names, authors, quotes, and even Lord Byron himself had my literature degree loving self giddy with joy. Yet, there was something else here too, the author dug deep in regards to two topics that are often painful for people to have to deal with. Because of this I became even further vested in the story.
Byron had some baggage. I won’t spoil the story but I could understand him. As the story progressed and I saw parts of his darker self in regards to what he liked mixed with some vulnerability I was a goner. Oliva also had her own issues but they were different than Byron. As a woman, I could understand and respect her decision to do what she needed to do in order to achieve her dream. The steam in this one including but not limited to Lord Byron’s mouth… let me just say that it was hotter than an August sidewalk in Las Vegas. HOT. it didn’t overpower the story but sweet holiest of titfires did it ever enhance it.
I cannot wait to see the next in this series. Nor can I express how happy my heart is that the QUEEN is back. this is definitely going in my all-time vault and in the best of 2019.
Iron Crowne is a new enemies-to-lovers standalone romance. Wow, what a way to open the first chapter! Just saying…..
This is Byron Crowne and Olivia Monroe’s story. Olivia really wants a baby. She is ready to do the single mom thing. I could really feel her pain in wanting a baby.
It’s not so easy for Byron. After-all they are enemies but there is an attraction between the two of them. It is hard to deny that attraction.
Byron really has to work to get Olivia to see that they can have a relationship.
I have come to expect a really good book by CD Reiss and she didn’t disappoint me. 4.5 stars
There is so much to love about this enemies to lovers book but the very first thing that draws you in and keeps you riveted to each word, paragraph and page is Christine’s unbelievable ability to write. I felt so immersed in this story, felt every emotion, fear, sexual tension that Byron and Olivia expressed. This story begins with an arrogant man hiding from a tragedy in his past and slams directly into a woman who feels the need to prove her own love and worth. As they fight their own demons and then they take it out on each other in business a very unlikely attraction occurs. This is when we get so much more. More of everything. More of Byron’s story, more of Olivia’s story, the inexplicable explosive attraction and need they have for each other sexually. The need to deny anything more for or from each other even if it’s a lie. So many moments of truths. I was brought to tears for both Byron and Olivia and they desperately try and navigate through their difficult journeys. The stunning conclusion is exactly how it should be and I’m so excited that Logan’s book is next. You will definitely want this as your next 1 click!!!
This book…… it is CLASSIC CD Reiss: alpha, dominant, broken, dirty talker vs. bratty, independent, submissive woman.
Enemies to lovers is my weakness, and this book makes me love it that much more. And I totally enjoyed the poetry quotes…. I will forever blush when thinking about Lord Byron.
I hope we get more stories about the Crowne family.
Iron Crowne is an enemy to lover story. You will be on an emtional roller-coaster with Byron not thinking he’s worthy of love to Olivia wanting it all but feeling like she’s settling for less. This is my first C..D. Reiss book and I will be reading more! Must Read!
Dang she did it again! CD Reiss has all the right elements to make a perfectly seductive enemies to lovers story!! She continues to surprise me with the depth she goes to and the magical way she is able to ensnare me no matter the type of book she writes!! I loved this book so much and the push and pull back and forth between Olivia and Byron was fire!! Soooo good!!
Iron Crowne is one of the easiest 5 stars I’ve given this year. I wish I could give it more. CD Reiss killed it in this enemies to lovers romance!!! BRAVO!
This is her best work since Jonathan Drazen! Byron Crowne is my new favorite alphahole. He is a take no prisoners, never lose, no bull, ruthless, wealthy businessman. He will stop at nothing to win this case. Olivia Monroe is a lawyer and champion for doing the right thing. She doesn’t like to lose and hasn’t lost a case so far. She isn’t about to start with Byron. She is a strong, independent woman and a force to be reckoned with. When Byron and Olivia meet, sparks fly and emotions are high. They can’t deny their attraction but neither one wants a committed relationship. Especially considering they are in the middle of a litigation. Both Byron and Olivia have their own personal demons they battle. Can they move past their professional issues and demons to help each other out?
Needless to say, I LOVED IT!!! CD Reiss is a master at weaving emotional and angsty tales. I love her books. They take you on a journey that you never want to get off of. There is a vast array of emotions in this book. They bled off the pages. I felt like Christine reached into my chest and physically squeezed my heart with some of these emotions. She makes you feel as if you are living the story. I loved the characters. They are so real, raw, and honest. The chemistry between Byron and Olivia is sizzling, scorching, molten hot! Ummm….can I please be Olivia??? The plot was everything! It was powerful, packed a punch, great world-building, enthralling, well-paced, and I just couldn’t get enough! I am hoping to get more from the Crowne World (Logan specifically)! I’m a huge fan of Christine’s, and this only cements the reason why I love her books so much!
****ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.****
When CD Reiss is on, she’s on. She always amazes me when she can take characters that don’t seem to fit and make a world with them that flows seamlessly together so perfectly, flaws and all. Even when she takes two seemingly opposite characters and turns their lives upside down, it’s perfection.
Olivia and Byron are the epitome of enemies. They do not fit in any way, shape or form. Their beliefs are so far removed from each other that they are oil and vinegar. Olivia is fighting for herself, the land and the environment and she is tough as nails. She will pave her own way by doing what she wants, how she wants. She does not like to lose. Especially to a man that is all about working the system, having bigger and better and Winning at each corner.
“I see you. You are worthy. I will destroy you.”
This book is enemies to lovers, but it’s so much more. CD takes LA, it’s money, it’s families, it’s environmental causes and makes some hot and steamy, lyrical prose out of it. The intensity of the writing and the chemistry between Olivia and Byron is off the charts. You can taste the feelings between the two of them and their fight to stand behind their values. We are kept on a constant edge that may be uncomfortable, but it keeps you pulled in to the story and won’t let you go.
“I’d never felt so fully owned, so defiled and worshipped. So abused and cared for. So much freedom..”
Iron Crowne is deliciously addictive and the characters are perfectly flawed. Ms Reiss has an understanding of dominant and submissive characters that are so strong and full of life yet are missing something major. I just want to read every book that delivers words like I am starving for it. The Crowne family has captivated me and I can’t wait for more men that are strong but know how to bend to a woman that bends to them.
“Bury me in you. Let me see your dirty fucking soul.”
Trust me when I say, you’re not going to want to miss Iron Crowne. The writing is stunning and the rich and extravagant world of the Crowne’s has seduced me. And I simply cannot wait for more from this world.
“I’ve never wanted to possess a woman’s hunger the way I want yours.”
Iron Crowne was a SMOKING HOT read! C.D. Reiss has a way with making you love her books. And this one was no different. Once I started it, I knew I wasn’t going to want to put it down. I was absolutely right! I loved every minute of this book! Everything about it drew me in. From it’s engaging characters, to the unique story line. I simply wanted it all. Forbidden Romances are my guilty pleasure, and Iron Crowne nailed it. It was a delicious mix of angst, denial, and desire. It was the perfect battle of wills that someone had to win. I have never seen characters so well matched for eachother. Byron and Olivia are one of my favorite couples. Something about their relationship just pulls you in. Their chemistry is some of the best I’ve seen. It burned through the pages. Byron and Olivia just knew how to ignite eachother into a fascinating story. I hate it had to end. I could have devoured more pages, books whatever from these characters. I look forward to more in the Crowne world.
“She didn’t need a hero. She didn’t need to be saved. She was the champion of her own story, and she knew it.
Olivia is one of my favorite heroines. Her character was extremely easy for me to like. She was strong willed, and had her life on track. I loved she knew exactly what she wanted and went for it. She never settled for less than she deserved. I couldn’t help but admire her determination and strength. Many women struggle with the same obsticle as Olivia and I think her character betrayed all the heart tugging vulnerability of the situation well.
“He was a mixed message. A loophole in a rock-solid contract. The coexistence of lies and truths.”
Byron surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to love him as much as I did. He was aloof, complicated, and calculating. Everything about him commanded your attention. I almost melted over his possessive ways, and dirty mouth. He was utterly erotic. I was as hopeless for the haunted alpha as the heroine was. As each one of Byron’s walls fell down. The vulnerable man underneath them walls was little by little stealing pieces of my heart.
“You think you have it under control, but all I see is how much you want everything you hate.”
*4&1/2 STARS*
Well earned for my favorite enemies to lovers, forbidden romances this year! Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!
