Supernaturals are real. And so are monsters.I’m Paul Riordan, son of Siobhan Riordan, and I will never forget that my father was murdered.Twenty years have passed since terror swept through Ballynagual. But that doesn’t mean that evil is gone for good. There’s a serial killer running loose in town, not to mention I’m in love with a woman that I can’t have, and she’s in the crosshairs of the … crosshairs of the murderer.
Some people will die to protect their secrets. Others will kill to expose them.
Me? No worries. I just have to worry about dealing with the undead.

Iron and Salt is the suspenseful third book in the Bloodstone Quadrilogy by Calinda B. A dark fantasy series with tinges of horror and romance, prepare to be swept off your feet to a haunted landscape where dark creatures are real and forbidden desires come true.

Iron and Salt is a great continuation in the Bloodstone series. It has some surprising twists and turns. As with her other books Calinda has written in detail the happenings of the current time period of her series.
Another scrumptious read from this author with this being the third in this trilogy. Paul will have us following him through this with it also having bits of humor along with the intrigue of this paranormal. Especially since those secrets are coming to surface with the suspense being in the forefront with a character in the past I equate with a pirate. As we travel further into this we are pulled closer to the edge with it at times being so tingly we will shiver. With others along with him that give this a full roaster we will have our romance too. This one was a good one that will not be soon forgotten.
This is the third and final book in this amazing well written and addictive series. It’s captivating, full of suspense, action packed, and full of intrigue. It takes you twenty years into the future after book 2 so you can see the new generation of characters as well as discover how previous favorites have weathered the years. Without giving spoilers, let me just say that this was by far my favorite of the bunch and Calinda B. has officially become a favorite author of mine! I highly recommend this to anyone that likes dark fantasy and page turning suspense!
This is a great read. There is an array of Characters in this read. There is someone out there killing people. So this is a Mystery and different couples finding each other. The Author has done a fantastic job at bringing this book to fruition. It has Shapeshifters and plenty of mystery. This read hrans you from the first page to thr last and is definitely a must read.

In this third book in the Bloodstone Trilogy, the next generation of Ballynagaul is faced with another supernatural entity. Siobhan’s Paul and Cillian and Lassi’s twins fight both supernatural and earthly evils and find love in the process. This can be read as a standalone, but it’s better to read the entire series in order to get a full appreciation for the people and the stories of this isolated Irish village. Iron and Salt is suspenseful, romantic and humorous, with a surprise twist at the end. Calinda B has a knack for weaving interesting and riveting stories with unique characters and effortlessly crossing genres. I have loved every one of her books I’ve read to date.
First let me say that I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my feedback. I always leave an honest review.
Holy shiznet!! What a perfect way to end a trilogy. This book is happens about 20 years after book 2 ends. It’s alot about Lassie & Cillian’s twins, Marie & William. Young married women are being murdered, & the Dearg-due is back. Love is found in so many strange places. Marie is lost & fighting with her place in life. William is as well, but in a different way. Paul, Siobhan’s son from her marriage to Dillan, is having an unrequited love problem. But all ends perfectly with all problems answered. Well, most of them. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
Dark fantasy. A bit lighter the the first two in the trilogy. The new characters in the story add many welcome dimensions. This wraps up the overall story very well. I enjoyed it and hope that you do as well.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. I am leaving my honest review.
This is the third and final book , in this series, it’s filled with action and intrigue. The interaction between the characters is wonderful, the story jumps ahead twenty years and so you (the reader) can read how the characters have evolved. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is such a fantastic conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. I mean, really, where else are you gonna find a family of leviathans that have battled a banshee and are trying to both contain and free an Irish vampire known as the Dearg-Due? Not to mention a serial killer dubbed Blackbeard, who’s been cutting the throats of new brides. Dark fantasy at its best.
I really enjoyed Grave Stones and Heart’s Blood, the first two books of Calinda B’s The Bloodstone Trilogy. It was actually a bit of a surprise for me just how much this was the case as I’m not typically a dark fantasy fan. These books were so well written that they overcame that bias. That’s equally true of Iron and Salt (Book 3). Calinda B is a talented writer and that’s reflected in just how well written this novel is. Read the publisher’s blurb for a solid enough description that doesn’t spoil anything. I will add to it that the plot here is solid and the characters very well crafted. Definitely another winner. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
This is the third book in this series, and I don’t know what it is about this series, but it just warms my heart. There’s romance, steam, mystery, surprises, and suspense making a lovely, well-written book. In this latest, it’s a little over twenty years later, and we get to see what’s up with the kids from the first two books as well as most of the secondary characters. The children, now adults and with lives of their own, are up to their eyeballs in problems including a new murderer and maybe a murder from the past. It didn’t take me long to figure out what was going on, but I still loved this book from start to finish. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This book is about the next generation. Marie and William are the twins of Lassii and Cillian. William can turn into the sea monster but Marie has tried but failed. Unfortunately, William has gone off the rails with wine, drugs, and women and won’t listen to any of his family. Ryan, their godfather, is always there for Marie through thick and thin. But now Marie’s feelings toward Ryan have changed, but how does he feel about her? One kiss changes everything. Then we have Paul, the son of Siobhan and stepson of Bres. Paul’s father was murdered over twenty years ago. His love interest is Anne who is going to become a nun. Yep, a nun. Who is murdering people again? Is the vampire loose or is it someone else? What an absolutely fabulous series this is.
Did you think that it was all coming to an end? Or did you feel it was all over? Its been twenty years and the small village of Ballynagual is not truly safe. It has been enough time for Paul to grow up and find that there is so much more in the world. He can never forget that his father was killed and the town that he lived in had something more to it. Twenty years later and the suspense of it all has only been simmer in the background. The darkness of this fantasy only opens the doors of the suspense of the event in the middle of a budding romance. This third installment only allows you to become more engrossed in the Bloodstone World.
Alex is back and I still love his voice and narration of this series that I am finding a very vivid world of dark creatures, alluring suspense, and a different kind of romance.
This is the third book in this awesome dark fantasy series! 20 years later and there’s a serial killer on the loose and this is full of mystery, suspense and intrigue. Love the storyline, love the characters, this truly is a great series!
