1-800-IRELAND: A Sweet Contemporary Romance Novella (Flipping For You Book 3) by Josie Riviera
Another great story from the author.
Have followed this series and enjoyed them all.
This one starts out with Kathleen who’s relocated from Ireland to NC, a small town called Roses. She lives above her new store-a tea house serving real Irish bread to name a few items on her menu.
Candy, the one who set up the apartment and saw to all the new owners needs from the US side also has notified Rob, her friend in FL who bakes cakes and cupcakes in his own shop.
He’s older and not quite the catch of the day-love this that he’s just a regular guy and kinda out of shape.
kathleen has it set in her dreams about her shop but Maureen knows she will need help. Rob needs time away from his own shop so travels there to see what it will need, in his opinion to make it a success.
He never expected to find Kathleen so charming! Like the challenge they take part it. So many lovely detailed descriptions, I can just picture it for real.
Loved hearing all about starting up the business-priceless information!
Some characters from the series make an appearance but you are given all details aobut them so you’re not left in the dark.
This can be read as a standalone! Irish slang words are explained in the conversations they have.
Misunderstandings and you wonder if they will ever get back together to see if they have what it takes to be a couple.
Recipe included! Note from the author is included at the end.
Acknowledgements and about the author is included. Offer to join first readers group.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Excerpt from Maeve is also included.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Maeve Perfect Match Series by Josie Riviera
Love how this series, all stand alones with a common theme, came to be, so cool!
This book starts out with Maeve and she’s been so busy tending to her ailing brother and working and her friends notice it also. The match site owners want her to try out their service-pick an island and spend the alloted time together with her perfect match, while the company takes photos of them enjoying each other and the location.
She makes arrangements and ends up going to her island of choice, Corsica. Love the reasons why she wants to go there. She is treated with high regard when she arrives-everything is seen to and her match have itinerary they are following-places to see, things to do, and relaxing. She is a purchaser of hotel equipment.
Story also is following Edward and he is part owner of a huge company that is interested in making another resort-that’s why he wants to go to the location-to take photos of the area and to see if it will work. He and Maeve do spend a lot of time together, getting to know one another and they are really from the different parts of society that you know it will never work out for their match.
Love the things they do, how caring each is to the other, especially love the food topics and sights and surprises. One doesn’t go as planned when they meet up with Edward’s friends and they really make her see a different side to Edward. Upon return she is summoned back to Ireland, an emergency. You know it was too good to be true.
Note from the author about the location, recipe included, acknowledgements, About the author and list of other works by the author are included at the end along with an excerpt from the next book.
I received this review book from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Oh Danny Boy by Josie Riviera
This book starts out with praise for the author’s writings.
Book starts out in Ireland and her brother Seammus is on the bridge, about to jump and probably drunk as he’s grieving still over the death of his wife.
A man will go with her to stop him as they climb the rusty bridge.
Clara tries to console him, the guitarist behind her supports her…
Danny Brady is the one that helps them down off the bridge as the news reporters are there to film it, their whole lives on the screen…
Over tea they talk about his coffee shop and finds out about the scones she bakes-thinking he could make a profit at his shops selling them…he needs to buy her recipe, they are that good!
They start seeing one another and Danny actually hires her brother to work for him. Some things are missing, along with money, a cyber crime upon Danny and her new jewelry from her birthday party.
She starts putting things together and just knows her brother is to blame for it all, or could it be her ex boyfriend who’s out of jail now and has been harassing her…
Fear and scary situations but also loving, caring ones also. Love the locale and travel
Especially love his other gift that he gives her, what a true sign of love.
Note and scone recipe from the author are included at the end.
Other works from the author and about the author are highlighted at the end
Excerpt from Maeve is included.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This box set includes four stories I got lost in reading: oh Danny Boy, Maeve, A Chocolate -box wedding and 1-800- Ireland. All stand up on their own but are a great collection. Definitely recommend.
What an incredible set!
Oh Danny Boy
This is the beautiful contemporary Irish romance of Clara Donovan and Danny Brady. They meet when Danny follows Clara up a precarious bridge to stop her brother Seamus from committing suicide. Although neither is interested in a serious romance, both having had bad experiences that soured them on love, their attraction to each other is undeniable but the difference in their social status may be an insurmountable barrier. Danny is a millionaire entrepreneur devoted to his coffee shop empire while Clara lives hand-to-mouth supporting herself and her brother.
1-800-Ireland
A beautiful May-December romance! Rob and Kathleen have more in common than they think. In spite of their skills and ambition, their failed love lives have left them with deep longings for love and acceptance. They are brought together when Kathleen leaves Ireland to start her own Irish tea shop in lovely Roses, North Carolina and Candee, her realtor, asks the wildly successful Rob to help her get started. Their meeting feeds a seed of hope in Rob’s heart and an interest Kathleen cannot ignore, but the difference in their ages and their pasts could stop this budding relationship.
A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding
The story of a second chance at happily ever after. Keira and Colum had a special relationship even as children but life and careers tore them apart. It took the beauty of Ireland and their childhood memories to bring them back together in time for a new year. This is such a wonderful story of love lost and love found. Josie Riviera makes me sigh, cry, and laugh in her clean romances. They always leave me feeling happy.
Maeve
Edward Newell is a billionaire resort owner. Maeve Doherty lives in Ireland and works as the purchasing for the Merrimac Company while caring for her brother who is in remission from cancer. Both are workaholics with no time or inclination for relationships. They would likely never meet except for being selected by the Perfect Match Company to partake in a week’s vacation in Corsica based on their profile matches. The activities orchestrated by Perfect Match give them ample time to get to know each other but the surprise visit of Edward’s wealthy “friends” makes the difference between their worlds apparent and may derail everything.
Josie Riviera writes such great romance stories, whether historical or contemporary. She develops her characters with emotional interactions that are poignant and relatable. These beautiful, well-written, clean romances gave me hours of enjoyment.
Review: O Danny Boy
Loved this book with real life situations in life that some of have to work through. Clara and Danny meet in one of those bad situations and even when neither one was looking for any type of relationship and he is wealthy and she barely getting by they are drawn to each other. Emotional, uplifting and romantic.
1-800-Ireland
Another great Irish novella by Josie Riviera encompassing characters from her other stories to continue their journeys. Kathleen moves to America to open a tea shop and gets help from Rob the Miami baker on setting her new business up.
Kathleen is a very determined lady and the arrival of an Irish friend who tries to take over is not what she has in mind.
Please read this delightful tale to see how all these people work together or not.
Three of the best of Josie Riviera’s books, based in Ireland. Danny Boy, Maeve, and 1-800-Ireland. You can’t go wrong with this collection. All three stories are sweet romances.
Maeve and Oh Danny Boy are wonderfully written romance storiew!! I can’t believe the descriptions in this book. I can visualize the scenery and surroundings. I have not read the other book yet and if it is anything like Maeve and Oh Danny Boy, everyone will be having quick and easy meals so I can finish the book in no time at all. It is definitely a must add to your TBR list and I can’t wait for it to be available as an audiobook so I can hear all the different accents. I love Kathleen and Rob’s story! It lets you know that there is love out there for anyone at any age and no matter your size! This book is definitely worth adding to your TBR list!
Excellent set of books. Highly recommend!
In Oh Danny Boy, Clara Donovan is a tough Irish woman who will do anything to take care of those she loves including stealing as a child to feed her fellow hungry orphans, climb a bridge to rescue a suicidal brother, and work to pay off the debts that same brother has racked up. Danny Brady has worked his way out of poverty with drunken uncaring parents to become a successful business man. He falls for Clara quickly, but when there is financial trouble with his business and he learns about her prior arrest for theft he accuses her thinking she might have has something to do with it along with her brother. Add in Clara’s abusive controlling ex who has recently been released from prison and is threatening her and this story had a lot of drama and high emotions. I loved that Clara enjoyed teaching dance to young children and all she wanted was her own dance studio and that Danny enjoyed singing even though he couldn’t do it very well. Both characters were flawed which made this Irish romance more real and interesting.
In 1-800-Ireland, Kathleen Kelly from Oh Danny Boy has been answering to someone else for many years and Rob Taylor is used to running his own successful business, so he can’t help telling her what he would do and trying to take charge even if that means offering her a management-like position she had before and no longer wants. Rob is a people pleaser ever since he tried to make his drunken abusive father happy. I’m surprised he has such a positive outlook and that his childhood experiences didn’t turn him bitter. Kathleen has been hurt by false controlling men. Maybe she’s afraid Rob is trying to control her in way by offering her an easy way out working for him in Miami. It must have been really hard to leave her native Ireland and all that is familiar to her behind to go to America to start a new business. I loved reading about all the wonderful Irish foods she created and wished I could visit Kathleen’s Teahouse in Roses and try them.
Oh Danny Boy is an intense, emotional , heartwarming love story that includes a hard look at alcoholism and suicide. Do not let that stop you from reading this wonderful book because it is the main characters family members who suffer from these afflictions. Ms. Riviera manages to deal with these issues without having them be depressing. Clara meets Danny in unusual circumstances. Both Clara and Danny have worked hard to overcome issues from their pasts. This book is an amazing tale of fear, forgiveness, happiness and love. I could not put it down.
Maeve is a wonderful, sweet, romantic book! Josie Riviera writes such realistic, complex characters. I loved Maeve and Edward an their chemistry. Their wonderful week in Corsica kept me turning the pages. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a clean island romance between a hotel purchasing agent and a millionaire hotel owner.
1-800-IRELAND is a heart warming romance between an independent Irish woman and Rob, the Muffin Man. Rob is warm, kind hearted and generous. He is also older, stocky and bald. How nice to find a leading man who is not drop dead gorgeous. I loved this May-December romance.
A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding is a sweet, heartwarming, second chance romance. While short, Ms. Riviera manages to present a well written, engaging tale of an older couple. She also presents several Irish customs and obviously loves Ireland. Kiki and Column have discovered that their dreams did not play out quite as they imagined. They meet again at the wedding of his father and her mother. To discover if they can work out an HEA, you will have to read t he book!
Wonderful stories with all the feels. Sometimes love comes along when you least expect or want it. These stories are heartwarming, a little heart wrenching and a lot heart lifting.
I give Oh Danny Boy 4 stars overall since I don’t think it was badly written but just 3 stars for my own personal enjoyment. I had a hard time relating to the characters for which I am thankful. I have never been in a position of an abusive relationship, neglectful parents, alcoholism/drug use, jail time, thieving and so forth. I couldn’t decide if I would react to situations as they did if I were in their shoes. I would think that after being in the abusive relationship Clara wouldn’t be so optimistic especially about her brother. I think she would be more skeptical about people in general. But I’ve never been there so maybe her natural positive personality would override the scars from her past. I don’t know.
I liked Clara and Danny I just couldn’t personally relate to them. I’m glad they started figuring out how to have a happily ever after. And that Clara’s siblings seemed to be making more of their lives by the end as well. It seemed that all the main characters had had difficult lives. Maybe that was part of the attraction to each other.
The book deals with difficult subject matter. There is alcoholism, physical abuse, emotional abuse, manipulation, neglect, gamboling addiction, theft etc… Some of these things had happened in the past but some are part of the story time frame. Because of these things much of the book felt darker than just fluff romance. (Part of my enjoyment problem was that I’d rather read fluff than dark).
I think others would enjoy this book more than I did. It just wasn’t to my tastes. So give it a go.
Sex: innuendo, passionate kisses
Language: a little
Violence: physical abuse toward a woman, (and a car).
