Middle Eastern enemies seem to know exactly where Justin Hall is assigned – 4.5 stars
Justin Hall tries to extract people and intelligence of value to the western powers but he gets a fatwa and a large bounty offered for his death. How can this be?
A Russian oligarch seems to have the answers but wants weapons recovered as a price for cooperation. Making deals that seem dubious gives the flavor of the world conspiring against him, but Justin survives impossible odds with only minor wounds while those around him – even in Times Square – die.
This is a bullets and shrapnel fly adventure where you know only the heat of the African desert or chill of North Atlantic winters.
Justin’s daring-do is about to be reined in by his new boss who wants to have a low public profile. With Justin’s normal impulses to do the right thing in spite of overwhelming odds, it seems that Justin could be put on desk duty. Will getting the critical information/person or weapons cache save his career?
This is another fine episode in which Justin’s career is spun at high speed, almost like a movie except that you visualize it in your mind. Iranian Protocol is another excellent spy thriller to enjoy.
Iranian Protocol by Ethan Jones
This book starts out with a note of thanks and site to sign up for announcements of new books to read from the author.
Synopsis of the story is included, Praise for the authors work, dedication page, proverb from Arab and Russia. Prologue where the story starts out with the helicopter ride.
Mission for Justin this time to find a defected scientist and to also figure out who’s sabotaging the whole plan. He has contacts that he relies on to help him with information and other setups to gain knowledge and gather clues as to who it could be that is out to get them.
There is a lot of travel to locations I am so unfamiliar with that it is interesting to learn about as they are not portrayed to the fullest effect in a TV show. Author does a great job of detailed descriptions.
So much action and adventure with his partner Carrie and he gets a few moments to talk to his grifriend Amy as they try to make plans to escape for a few days when his mission is over.
Plans are made and missions are carried out but they meet with resistance and others lose their lives when things go south.
Love water adventure and he did warn them about gas leak.
Mystery, action and adventure, fast paced scenes, so many weapons and terminology that is new to me, love learning what new words mean.
Story ends where he sums up the events and is handed his next assignment, starting right away.
Next story in the series has excerpt of three chapters. More works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Dedication page ends this book.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
In this book, Justin has just arrived at the location where he is to take an Iranian Scientist who is defecting to Canada. Things do not go as planned and it appears that CIS has been compromised. Earlier an abduction by Seals was also impacted and Justin had involvement in that as well. Because of this incident, Justin was directed to meet with the CIA along with Carrie that just returned from leave.
As a result, Justin and Carrie wound up on a case using information the CIA gave them. This incident did not go well either. It got to the point where there was a case wanted to handle, but he couldn’t get approval to do it and went on his own.
To learn how each of these tasks went and who was the individual that compromised the CIS, then you need to read this book.
A dangerous action-packed Justin Hall thriller. Tense, deceptive and gripping, this is a hard to put down book. Spine-tingling and thought-provoking, Mr Jones keeps getting better and better honing his craft to perfection. Very Highly Recommended.
Iranian Protocol: A Justin Hall Spy Thriller is, in every sense of the word, a thriller set in varying locations around the globe. With each book he writes, Ethan Jones continues to polish his craft, with this book being better written & more satisfying than were his first two. Iranian Protocol seems longer than his first two books but steadily builds to a climax. The interesting twist is that the main characters are Canadian although that is not as apparent in this book as in his earlier books. A very good read. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to the next book in this series when it’s published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
