Two women have gone missing in two weeks: the first, found dead, was slashed and dumped in a back alley in Boston. The second was discovered by a child in a Swan Boat Ride. As fear intensifies, Hunter, the head of the FBI Behavioral Unit, calls his star criminal profiler, Tracy Wrenn, to help on the case. Even though she had plans to become engaged that evening, Tracy quickly cancels her plans … and rushes to Boston to help.
A beautiful, young professor of criminal psychology, Tracy has become renowned for her success at cracking cases no one else can. With her unusual insights and unique point of view, she is relentless at probing the inner minds of murderers. When a third woman goes missing, and when Tracy finds herself in danger, everything intensifies. In a shocking turn of events, Tracy finds out more not only about the killer, but about herself–and learns that nothing is what is seems.
Book #2 in The Killing Game will be released soon.

This was a great murder mystery. The lead character, Tracy, is the narrator and she is easy to read. The story flows well and the ending was a surprise. This book kept my interest through the end.
I love all of Jaden Skye’s books
The author really grabbed this readers attention by the manner in which the characters were brought in to the mix of the plot. Having a background in a field which gave me a foundation to build on, I guessed the who and the why before it is stated by the writer. Other readers may not be so fortunate. Regardless, this book reveals possibilities in real life. Also, one can’t forget the personalities of the main characters and their personal feelings and attitudes. This was a well written book which I enjoyed completely.
3 1/2 stars. Lots of errors, such as the police putting a “trail” on a suspect. It’s tail, not trail. A few entire paragraphs were repeated. The story was good, but needs more editing.
These are definitely books for women. But they are well written and I enjoyed each one I have read.
I’ve read a few of Jaden Skye books which I enjoyed and was very disappointed in this one. The editing caused it to be disconcerting every time I found a word or phrase or even 3 whole pages were duplicated. Also had several misspelled words, poor punctuation on just about every other page. The writing was like I had a draft in my hands, not a finished product. I relentlessly highlighted them all and was shocked to see so many mistakes in the book.
Now to the story: Tracy Wrenn, the FBI profiler, was not a believable character in my opinion. She treated the investigators that were working with her as her ‘lackeys’ and not her peers. And they bickered among themselves so much, it was like watching a group of kids trying to ‘one up’ each other. I figured out the killer way before it was revealed and wondered why this ‘great profiler’ didn’t see it too. The side story of Tracy and her almost fiancée was totally boring and did nothing to move the plot along, in my opinion. The book could have ended a lot sooner. I’m sorry. Probably won’t choose a book by this author again any time soon.
This book was so good. I didn’t want to put it down until I was finished. Can’t say a whole lot because if you decide to read this book it had different twists in it and I wouldn’t wNt to ruin it for you.
didn’t even finish it
This book started strong and the overall story was good, but I started to really tire of the main character as the story unfolded.
Not much good about this book, characters “Act” more like kids and the dialog is terrible.
the characters in this book were absolutely horrible. I actually couldn’t even finish it, which is really rare for me. The criminal profiler had zero depth to her, and I felt like the writer was a teenager by the description of how her character thought. Absolutely ridiculous, and an insult to anyone actually in law enforcement.
Great story line & characters. A real page turner.
Highly recommend.
Liked the book a lot except for the ending! Thought it ended without an ending and I kept looking for it. It left me hanging!!
A good read. Did not figure this one out soon as I normally do.
B+
Interesting story line but poor editing caused it to be disconcerting every time that a word was duplicated or misspelled. I cared enough about the story to stay with it until the end.
This book is slow and boring and just plain childish. While reading I kept thinking of Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. The heroine reads like a teenager who knows it all.
I appreciate the attempt to write a challenging story. This one reads like a kid’s chapter book. The dots connected way too soon and the story felt forced forward. Too many things happening at once. Ever hopeful, I read through Chapter 11. I stopped reading.
The profiler delves into the lives and minds of the characters. It was intriguing and informing. A great mystery. Anxious to see what develops between Tracy and Hunter.
The characters were well developed though a bit simplistic. The plot was interesting and not easily predictable. But this book desperately needed proof reading.
