Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emmy’s ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison “Books” Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of … kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emmy finds a piece of evidence he can’t afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day–and they’re all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?
INVISIBLE is James Patterson’s scariest, most chilling stand-alone thriller yet.

“This book will make your jaw drop” Should I say more? It’s truly wonderful
Invisible is the story of an FBI profiler who believes a number of arsons with fatalities are murders.
The story is scary because people like Graham really exist.
The book has some good twists and turns.
This book gave all the clues but they are easy to miss. Great ending.
I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 8 because I couldn’t get into this book.

Patterson is one of my favorite authors – I’ve yet to find a book of his that disappointed me. But even amidst all of the excellence in his apparent endless ideas for great plots, hidden plot twists, and characters you can connect to, some are better than others.
For me, this was one of his BEST
How do you find a serial killer?
Who leaves no evidence,
Whose crimes are so carefully spread that the authorities refuse to accept they are connected,
When the ONLY person who is convinced is a suspended FBI agent, obsessed with the “case” because she’s convinced that’s how her sister died.
And whose obsession just makes others convinced there is no case, no killer and she’s just losing it with this grief filled fixation for “the man who wasn’t there” committing the crime that was clearly nothing more than an unfortunate accident.
That, my fellow readers, is what Patterson weaves together in his unique style to bring us the first of a two book series. Can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!
I read the second book in this series, Unsolved, before I realized that there was a first book, so I had to read this to get caught up on Emmy’s backstory. This book was a real thriller! It had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. Emmy is an FBI analyst, trained to spot connections where others don’t. She thinks that there is a connection between several fires in different cities across the country that have all been ruled accidental. One of the victims was her twin sister. But no one will believe her. She finally convinces one person that there may be a connection and the story takes off from there. I thought that I had the killer figured out, but was surprised at the end. A must read for thriller fans.
I always enjoy the books James Patterson co-writes with a fellow author. David Ellis is one of his better writer buddies. No one believes Emma Dockery when she connects the dots and follows the path of a serial killer. Her ex-boyfriend, Harrison Bookman, believes her and brings in the FBI.
I’m not a fan of serial-killer stories, but this one is less gory and creepy. I like the twists and turns.
It kept me reading and the ending was unexpected yet all the clues were there. Great read.
I know that this book will twist your insides because of the cruelty of the main character. But it is a good story with solid characters and it kept me reading late into the night.
This book helped stem my love for reading mysteries. The layout keeps you on your toes and is honestly one of the best reads I have ever encountered!
Another of his books that is hard to put down!
Very slow start and some area also a slow but overall not a bad book.
An excellent thriller, without too many details that cause the reader to lose the plot. The text is flowing, and the twist at the end managed to surprise me in a big way.
Thought it was a great crime novel
Wow! This book was freakin amazing! I love this author. The book kept me guessing what was going on and then right when you think you figured it out, there is a twist you never saw coming. Five stars for sure!
You will NEVER guess the ending!!!
This is a twisted, dark, interesting take on a serial killer. I liked it!
At first glance, the fire appeared to be accidental. A tragic fire started by a negligent homeowner. There is nothing at the scene to make authorities believe the fire is arson.
That is, until, a member of the FBI loses her twin sister in a fire. She believes her sister was murdered and she sets out to prove there is a person murdering people by setting fires in their homes.
He chose the wrong victim this time and with the FBI on his trail, let the games begin!
This book is full of suspense with a cast of characters that you will either love or hate, and your feelings about them will change as you read the story. With an ending so intriguing you will never see it coming this book was hard to put down.
