Silver fox. Power player. Author of revenge.People have called Alexander many things over the years, but it’s the last one he’s been living for.Years ago, the Wynters ripped away everyone he’d loved. He made a promise then to erase that name. Now, with the family matriarch dead, he walks through the gates of their Connecticut estate as the owner with a sledgehammer in his hand. The only thing … his hand. The only thing left to do is say goodbye to his beloved Charles.
He didn’t expect to find Rebecca, the third in their lovers’ trio, standing there.
He didn’t expect the man who is helping him settle the Wynter estate to offer himself to him and Rebecca as a stopgap to recapture a happier time.
He didn’t expect to fall in love again—with both of them.
They say three is the strongest number. But sometimes the ghosts of the past are unbeatable, even for three.
Invincible is a M/F/M and M/M/F standalone novel in the Elite Doms of Washington Series. No cliff-hanger, HEA guaranteed. No cheating.

I feel like I have been waiting for this for a long time and now I can say that this is by far my favorite!
The emotions in this book are so soul crushing at points but in the end it was well worth it!!
Alexander’s story was so intense and so highly emotional! The betrayals were gut wrenching, and the deeply rooted feelings in this book wrung out all the feels at every turn! I have to say, Eric was such a blessing, I just loved him so much! Both Rebecca’s and Alexander’s hurdles were tough to overcome, and at times I just wanted to shake some sense into them! But in the end, I sighed, so satisfied and so intoxicated with the love of these three. A truly perfect ending to this fantastic, sexy series!
Love Safleurs work!
Her stories are intense
The emotions from her characters are so vivid…How do I explain it? I feel like I’m there – I can feel their heartbreak, their fears, their triumphs.
I am emotionally taxed as the last scene fades to dark –
The definition of a book hangover
This for me just might be one of my favorites to date. It’s hard to pick! This story though just stole a piece of my heart.
I’m starting with Eric ’cause Hello!
Everyone should have an Eric in their life!
Someone who sees past the facade.
Someone who calls you on your bull puckey!
Also, someone who knows when to take control and when to submit to a higher authority ** *sigh***
And being honest here I really really liked his character
As for Alexander his internal pain shredded my heart. It wasn’t his actions perse more the emotional pain he endured. He tried so hard. It was like his agony bled off the pages.
I screamed … wanted to rip open those darn gates.
I honestly don’t know if it was the innocence cultivated in his love for Charles or his personal feelings of failure that drove him forward. Maybe a bit of both?
Rebecca… I had to step back when it came to her. I understood, sort of, why she made the choices she did. But I wanted her to fight harder! To stop lying to herself! Let it go!
She, like Alexander and Charles, didn’t know any better.
They each tried to protect the other not caring about the cost.
I read this story like the pages were on fire –
Each time they stumbled, each new betrayal, every feeling of inadequacy
Left another scorch mark on my heart.
They deserved better
I wanted … no needed – to know they had their happily ever after – before it was too late
Before the embers of hope died out completely
As always Elizabeth SaFleur never fails to give us a spectaluar story to end out a series. Alexander’s story was perfect but add in Rebecca and Eric and you have a powerful love you didn’t see coming. Alexander’s secrets are finally out in the open and he can let his guard down and maybe enjoy life now that his enemies are gone. This story was so heartfelt and emotional it took some time to get over it but will definetaly be reading it again soon just to revisit these strong people. For me this was the best story in this series and a wonderful conclusion.
I’m at a loss for words. this is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I love it when I find a new author and start the book and devour it within one sitting… This is what happened with this beauty. I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I mean I had heard the author was amazing and knew how to write a decent romance but damn, this one had my emotions all over the place. In no way was I expecting to be sitting here with tears streaming down my face…
Alexander’s story was emotional…
I’m not sure how to word this, without giving to much away. What I can say is I need to read the rest of this series, although this book is standalone but I feel like there is a lot more to this story than I am reading. I enjoyed this book so much. It was hot as hell, that is a given but it was so much more than that. This had depth, raw emotions and a plot so thick I could drown in it. I loved it! Alexander’s story is heartbreaking… by chapter two I was in tears… Add in Eric and Rebecca.. and it just got more intense… More emotions and more heat. It was forbidden, more addictive and it consumed me. I was obsessed with these three. Alexander’s past wasn’t easy… When Rebecca comes into his life. He is hesitant to get closer to her, but he’s in love with her and as much as he fights it, love will always win out… Then we add in Eric, someone whose been in love with Alexander for the longest time but feared telling him the truth… Put these three together and the author has given us an emotionally crippling, amazing, enticing and intense plot that will have you devouring it in a matter of hours. I couldn’t put it down. This book is full of secrets, love, pain, heartache, and scenes that gut-punched me hard. It was forbidden, raw, emotional and tragically beautiful.
This story was a rollercoaster of emotions and I was not ready for what I just read, but I loved each and every word. The authors’ words flowed so easily, it was extremely well written and had me addicted beyond belief.
Enticing, insightful, all-consuming, emotional and incredible. I couldn’t get enough!
5 Stars!
Overall Rating:
I need to begin this review with my reality about the Elite Dom series: I love Alexander Rockingham. I have loved him since the first book in this series, Elite. He is a Dom’s Dom, but he brings a sensibility to the lives of his “subs.” And I mean “sub” loosely here, as his tribunal, while populated with doms, seeks him out for reassurance. Each book in the series, leading up to this last book, Invincible, finds an “in-control” wise Alexander. Until this book. Here, we finally “see” the true Alexander, and it is a deeply moving character study in the influence of the past and the pain of heartbreak.
Invincible would be a word that most could associate with the character of Alexander Rockingham. He’s stalwart, wise, and demanding, especially as a dom. At any time in any of the first books of this series, you believe that Alexander will “save the day” or bring a clarity to the life of his friends. Yet, this book finds him undone, and it’s glorious.
In this book, we realize quickly that the always serious, always thoughtful, and always wise Alexander is broken. That smooth, concise exterior is a front to walls created against pain. What we know from the early books of the series is that Alexander has endured loss, and his past informs the choices of his future. We don’t know the specifics of the loss or its palpable influence in his life. Invincible provides the magnifying glass to Alexander’s soul.
Elizabeth SaFleur crafts this story so beautifully that, from its title to its ending, we feel the profound influence that close-minded people can have on the lives of others. Her words paint pictures for her readers. This is the essence of this book. Yes, Alexander is seemingly “invincible” as he has had to navigate his life away from the people he loved in the wake of his broken dream for their future. This makes him susceptible to living in his past, and his story illustrates the trouble with this. In not letting go of that pain, he inadvertently stagnates himself. He misses the treasure of people, the pain of others, and the need to let go because he remains trapped in his pain. SaFleur uses the characters of Rebecca and Eric to show us Alexander’s vulnerability, that he isn’t the precise, imperious dom of the first book, that he isn’t really invincible. Even more, SaFleur is reminding us, her readers, that we have to move on, forgive, or we miss out on the blessings in front of us. This message is the true essence of SaFleur’s romance.
It was during this lesson that I went from adoring Alexander to becoming frustrated with him. This is a menage book. Since he is so dynamic, men and women alike want to fall at his feet. Eric is one of them. He has adored Alexander from afar, wanting his approval and interest. For much of this story, Alexander misses Eric’s treasure, his love for him. Rebecca, the third of their triad, has to take huge actions to help Alexander see beyond the misfortunes of his past, so that he can have a bountiful future. As Alexander works this out, I found myself yelling at him in the book. He was so blind, yet this angst, this frustration, is SaFleur’s genius in this story. Moving her readers with a character like Alexander who is the epitome of wisdom makes you feel more than you might if he acted like typical Alexander. It’s my favorite part of this book.
I began Invincible in love with Alexander Rockingham, and I left it jealous of Eric and Rebecca. This man who seemed the epitome of strength broke my heart and soul just a bit, and then proceeded to mend it.This is definitely the best book of the Elite Doms series, no contest. It’s also a poignant admonition to live life in the present, forgo revenge, forgive, and find love. In order to be truly invincible, one’s heart has to be open to all the possibilities.
“His whole life had been designed around one thing — to never again feel the kind of loss he’d once been forced to endure. But a great loss can never be overcome, one can only learn to live with it.”
Talk about keeping promises and holding secrets. Alexander has been a constant throughout tgis series and has remained a mystery, up till now. But we get him in his finest hour and we learn all his secrets and see everything he holds dear. 40 years is a long time to hold on to a promise, but when the man says he’ll do something, well he doesn’t soon forget. Rebecca is someone i can personally relate to. She’s a strong woman yet afraid to let anyone down. She has done things, that she isn’t exactly proud of, because it was the ‘right thing to do.’ She devoted, forgiving and has a heart of gold. And Eric. Well Eric is you typical ‘I know what I wamt but it’s not something I deserve’ kinda guy. He will go out of his way to do anything for others and not give a second tgought to what that will do to him. This is a story about long ago love that never really dies. We all hold secrets and grudges and judge people based on what we see and hear. Sometimes we don’t see exactly what is in front of us until it’s too late. This story reminds me to never give up. Never let go. And always look ahead. You never know what’s going to happen unless you take that leap.
Elizabeth Safleur fans have long awaited Alexander’s story and it was SO worth the wait. Invincible is dramatic, intense and filled with deep emotions both big and small. It deals with lost love, rekindled love, found love and last love. Forty years to plot, 40 years to plan, forty years to fulfill a promise, Alexander Rockingham finally gets satisfaction. But he’s mired in the past and what might have been instead of living in the now and what could be. Rebecca Beaumont still reels from mistakes she made 40 years ago. Now she’s back in Alexander’s life she’s not sure she fits in. Eric Morrison has yearned for Alexander for years and now he may have finally get at least some of what he wants but it may not be enough. What he didn’t count on was Rebecca. Will he the glue that hold this threesome together?
This was awesome! I absolutely loved it! This was intense and unputdownable. This book was full of wonderful characters and so steamy and kinky. But it’s not just about that. There are a lot of deep feelings and love that finally gets a chance to flourish. Definitely made my heart ache but in a good way. I definitely hope there will be more of this series. I’m in love with it.
I received an advanced reader copy. I am voluntarily leaving a review. I do not leave five star reviews often, because it needs to do more than be a great story, which Ms Safleur always delivers, but something that touches my soul. This book delivers that. This is a second chance romance, and it revisits a time in our history that was so joyful and painful at the same time. What happened to Alexander would have wrecked a lesser man, but it was the impetus to make him the man he is today, create the family he has at Accendos and worthy of the second chance he has. This is the sixth (full-length) book in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone but it is so much better, if read in order. As it is a BDSM book, there is a lot of steam to go along with a emotional story. Get this book!
Alexander, Eric and Rebecca. I love this series. It is raw and edgy but filled with love. Alexander is a man with tight control. Almost 40 years later he is being able to fulfill a promise and it is tearing him apart. Eric has loved him from afar for almost a decade and would do anything for him. Rebecca is a love lost to him that has come back in his life. The story unfolds as they try to make their dynamic work together. You will experience erotic scenes and feel their heartbreak as they struggle to make it all work. In the end love conquers everything and they learn to hold on to that which is important.
Invincible by Elizabeth SaFleur is book 6 in the Elite Doms of Washington Series. This is the story of Alexander Rockingham who is the owner of Club Accendos and who has been throughout most of the previous books. I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Alexander seem to have lost everything that was emotionally important to him years ago. In his present day he is the trusted secret holder, his family and friends are the people at the club. But on this day he goes to make right a promise to right a wrong done to someone he loved Charles Wynter. Charles, Alexander and Rebecca where once all young and in love but Charles was taken from them and everything fell apart back in the past. So when he goes to the Connecticut Estate that he has now taken over he once again is reunited with Rebecca. Eric has always had feelings for Alexander and when he sees that feelings are still strong between Alexander and Rebecca he offers himself as the third in their relationship. Rebecca has issues from the past that come to her future and each finding their way in the new trio relationship.
This was a story built on older characters (40 plus) and does have M/M/F story line.
Finally we have Alexander’s story. He has been such a presence throughout the series that one would suspect that his story would be an epic tale of love. And not only love, but there was loss, and revenge, and forgiveness all wrapped up in this book that packed a punch. The insane chemistry between Alexander and Rebecca and Eric was off the charts hot that led to some pretty sexy scenes. Elizabeth SaFleur did a wonderful job telling Alexander’s past, present, and hopefully future in possible future books.
The wait for Master Alexander’s story, the finale of the series, has been anticipated by many since the very beginning and it was such a beautiful story of love, loss, grief, forgiveness, acceptance, and release. Alexander has always been a controlled and stoic character who always favoured justice and fairness throughout the series. He kept his past secret but it was evident he carried a sadness with him and that he had suffered greatly. He was no stranger to heartbreak and at times he seemed resolved to be ever alone, never to love again. Finally seeing inside the man to the emotions and experiences that have swirled together to make him the powerful dominant of today was a fitting end to the series. I’ve always longed to see Alexander in action, to see him give himself and to be loved, cherished, the way he deserved. Author Elizabeth SaFleur has done him justice and written a poignantly beautiful story.
Alexander has been a permanent fixture in every book in the Elite Doms series. He is the friend and confidant to many. He is the Grand Arbitur of Club Accendos which is featured in and the center of every book in some way. The club itself provides a sensual experience and Elizabeth SaFleur has managed to master the art of creating realistic images in all her novels. Her techniques of describing the surroundings and the scenes allow me to envision clearly everything that is happening and where it is happening. Her writing also brings out the emotions of the characters and allows the reader to “feel” the story. I can’t put into words how her writing weaves its way into my very soul. It is an experience like no other.
The events of Alexander’s past revealed a sad reality, one that is still prevalent in today’s society. Judgment, hate, and condemnation of people instead of love and acceptance makes for a bitter and lonely world; an existence that wastes so much energy. The relationship between Alexander, Charles, Rebecca, and Eric was truly wonderful. The intense emotions that their love exudes brought tears to my eyes. Their caring and selfless hearts were an inspiration. Life is hard enough to get through, why not live it to the fullest sharing your love instead of unleashing your evil.
All of the previous characters from every book have made cameo appearances in Invincible. Seeing them again, getting caught up on their lives today, made this book all the more perfect. These characters are not to be forgotten and they added both nostalgia and another dimension to this book. I will miss them all and should the author find the characters talking to her again one day, I will be happy to get lost in her words and all the Elite Doms.
Alexander waited 40 to finally exact his revenge, he was also reunite with his love. This MMF story is emotionally charged. Secrets are revealed after so many years. Invincible was full of twists and turns and angst. The relationship among Alexander, Rebecca and Eric was palpable and inevitable. The book did leave me with a slight book hangover, the story very intense. This is a stand-alone book in this series.
Review copy was received for a honest opinion.
From the first page this book sets the tone and it involves tissues. We all know and love Alexander Rockingham but never knew his story until now. This book is about second chances, revenge and finding new love. Elizabeth blew me away with this book. I’m excited to see what’s next from her.
I have spent several days trying to decide how to write this review and none of the ways seem to do this work justice. At the least, it is the best book in the series and one of the best I have read this year. It’s a story of how a strong, powerful man can be hobbled to his past through hate, loneliness, secrets – and a love he cannot let go. It was painful to read at times, but ultimately the experience was transcendent and inspiring. I wouldn’t change a single word.
In the final installment of Elizabeth SaFleur’s Elite series we are given a story of healing from soul shattering events. Of mature characters who have lived their adult lives with the spiritual cancers from secrets within and inner pain that has festered for forty years. How can a love that laid dormant all those years be reignited and bring healing?
I wanted to read Alexander’s story since he was first introduced in Elizabeth SaFleur’s Elite series. Although he was a minor character in each book, his influence on all of the main characters was a major factor. He was an enigma. He was in control, never giving that power to anyone, yet there was always a sense of inner pain and mystery buried behind those steely eyes. Finally, we have his story. Every. Beautiful. Painful. Trancendent. Detail.
For once, I will not include any real spoilers. But I share two quotes which embody the essence of this man. One is the advice his much loved uncle gave him and by which he tried to live his life:
“Don’t beat anyone. Best them.
Keep all your promises.
Surround yourself with friends.
Always help if you could.
Don’t owe anyone anything. “
The second reveals his true character despite the walls he often builds around himself:
“If he thought about it, his life’s work was embodied not by the splendid architecture and award-winning gardens of his estate but by the people who inhabited it and considered it a place of refuge, a safe haven.”
Because that is what Alexander has done. He has built Club Accendos as a refuge for the many people whose lifestyles and needs were considered different, decadent, or even degenerate. People who led otherwise exemplary lives. Who had families, lovers, and friends. Who contributed to society and often held powerful positions therein, but who would be outcast if their BDSM lifestyles became known. These people were Alexander’s family and Accendos, their safehaven.
If you have read any of the Elite series, then you must read this one. It is a stand alone and you do not need to have read any of the other books before reading this one. It truly stands on its own. However, the main characters of the other books are also present here, so reading them is recommended.
Just a word of advice. This is not Fifty Shades, which is a decent book, but not a realistic depiction of BDSM. This is (as are all of the books in the series) a more realistic view of a lifestyle that can be shocking to some. At Accendos, safety, consent, and care are of primary importance.
This review is based upon an ARC I received and is an honest review.
I don’t ever not know what to say when reviewing a book, but this one is different. Invincible was a story of immense emotion and love. Elizabeth Safleur listened to the voices in her head and delivered a story worthy of Alexander Rockingham himself! Invincible is his story after all! Alexander as a character has been a mystery, well his secrets get chipped away and we uncover the man he is in the most intense way possible. It is a story of healing from the past and accepting love from all stages of life.
I cannot implore everyone enough to read this book. It affected me emotionally in levels I didn’t know I had! You will not be disappointed with it!
Omg. This was so good. Detailed and so well written. Drama. Secrets. Suspenseful. Many twists in the story to keep it exciting. Deep bonds between the main characters. Couldn’t put it down.
Alexander Rockingham started Accendos, he is the Grand Arbiter of the Tribunal Council, and he considers the employees, and the other members of the council, his friends and family. He’s rich and powerful, but he doesn’t have anyone to call his own. It took forty years but his chance to get revenge for the loss of the two people he loved has finally come. He met Charles Wynter at Harvard, and Rebecca at the Wynter home. They were young, in love, and torn apart by the Wynter family. Eric Morrison is thrilled to be working with Alexander, and hopes that this will be his opportunity to get close to the man he has been in lust/love with for years. When Rebecca reappears in Alexander’s life, Eric finds out about their past and is afraid that he has lost his chance. Rebecca and Alexander realize that they need a third person in their group and invite Eric into their scenes.
Wow, while Alexander has been in the other books in this series, his story needed to be told. I think these characters are fascinating, and unique. Alexander, Rebecca, and Eric become close, but until Alexander realizes that he can treasure his memories of his beloved Charles, he can also love, and move on with the two people who are with him now. While his story is sometimes tragic, Alexander uses his need for revenge to build a business and become extraordinarily rich and powerful, he will also get the happily ever after, I think, he deserved. I also thought this was a perfect end to a fantastic series. I loved this book, and the entire series!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
