Grateful for an influence outside … influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.
Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they’ve sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she’s forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she’s traded one house of secrets for another?

I love this book series! I see a lot of myself in Sang. While she can be unsure about the new guys in her life she is willing to give them a shot. These books are amazing and full of action and always leave you wanting more!
I feel like reading this book changed for me what I think of as great writing. This book set a standard, raised the bar. I loved it. I love the whole series and the spin-off series Scarab Beetle as well.
A very different take on teen romance. Kept me reading to see what happened next and hooked me on the series.
So first off, I have read this book about 10 times now (along with the rest of the series).
Seriously I can not begin to tell you just how incredible this book is! I’m not one to reread books unless it’s been at least a year.
With this series I found myself rereading in less then a month!
The characters and story line are addicting, you can’t …
This is an ongoing series about Sang and a group of guys from The Academy. Sang gets run over by the neighbor’s dog in a thunderstorm as shes trying to run away. She ends up crashing at Kota’s house after being soaked and a few scrapes. Kota has never had a girl over much less sleeping in his bed. Both are nervous and awkward and not sure what …
3.5 Stars (rounded up to 4)
So, this book was a good Introduction to the series, which is great given the title of it. I’m not really sure if I enjoyed it, or if I’m just excited about seeing whether it lives up to the hype. I’ve heard many good things about this series, especially that it’s usually the gateway into this genre. …
love this book. such an amazing start to a great series!
This book got me into another series. I could not get it out of my mind. For people who are extra sensitive about abuse whether it be mental or physical, you might want to think twice about this book. I am sensitive but what it did for me was make me wonder and worry over the story. I could not put it down. I am now onto more of her work. IT IS …
Traumatic. How Sang came out in any same way is amazing. There is enough in the story that I bought all the way to # 12 plus the audio.
Teens will enjoy this book!
Just a girl looking for friends. Halfway through the book and I still couldn’t figure out where the story was going
Absolutely loved this entire series!! Couldnt put them down until i completed them all
The only thing is I wish the books weren’t so expensive
For those not aware, this is an INSANELY SLOW burn series. As in: a two legged turtle crawling through a mixture of molasses and peanut butter slow.
So don’t go expecting any touchie feelie in this book. But the characters are great and you spend the entire book getting to know their personalities, even though the book does take place over only a …
This was one of the first books that I saw then pushed it to the side as an RH series and it was the most stupidest mistake I could have made (well other than not read it). This book and it’s series of books that come with it are my life! It’s so realistic in the sense that it could happen in almost anyones’ lives and it starts off about Sang …
If you’re looking for a long series that will suck you in and take over all your free time, then you should definitely grab this free read and get addicted.
I love this book and the rest of the series as well.
If I had to read one book to read over and over, I would choose The Academy Ghost Bird series in a flash. But I might also want to read The Scareb Beetle series.
I initially enjoyed this book/series, but got frustrated with how slow the story was moving & the main female character started to drive me crazy. I’m obviously not the target audience for this series.
It was amazing to read. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time as well as being funny in different ways.
