Nineteen-year-old Willa Devries is no ordinary witch. Born to a sacred race known as the lightkeepers, for centuries her lineage has been charged to carry out their time honored duty of holding the light of the world against the darkness. Willa’s twentieth birthday will mark the day when she comes into her full powers, a day she’s been anticipating forever. Only the rising darkness has become … more powerful than anyone has ever seen, and with her birthday only a week away, Willa begins to question if she’s ready to feel the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Braeden Mathiesen is a Guardian sworn and trained to protect the keepers of light. His life has been spent preparing for the day when he would be sent to aid Willa in her lightkeeper training. Yet upon his arrival to the sleepy town of Salem, Massachusetts, he quickly realizes he is unprepared for the extent of her incredible power–or for the woman who will steal his heart.
The fate of the world lies in Braeden and Willa’s ability to push past their feelings and learn to harness her powers, before the dark underworld rises up and covers the world under a blanket of darkness. Failure isn’t an option; the world depends on it.

I really enjoyed this book. Willa lives in Salem and knows her family are witches. She has a bigger destiny, she is the lightkeeper. The balance between light and dark. But the catch is she will not get her powers till her 20th Birthday. Weeks before her birthday, weird things start happening. At her aunts shop she has a vision. Thankfully her new guardian shows up. He has to get her to safely before her powers draw the attention of underworlds. Definitely excited to read book 2. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great witch/Paranormal book.
I do not read a lot of paranormal books but I was highly impressed with this one.
Willa thought she was an average girl getting ready to turn 20. She had a quiet homelife and job that is until she images in the scarves at her aunts shop. That was the day that her whole life changed forever. She found out that she was a Lightkeeper, she had a guardian to protect and teach her, then found out the truth about her parents, add in the Light Council, and Lucian with all his confidence and good looks. And you have one amazing book!!
Such an amazing and detailed storyline. I cannot wait to read more.
“…no matter what trouble lay ahead of us, the light would prevail.”
****4 SHINNING “LIGHT” STARS****
Fantasy Witches and Warlocks isn’t usually a go to genera for me. Amy Manemann’s Into the Light has me rethinking my outlook. This book had my full attention from cover to cover!! I’m anxious to see how this duo fares in the next installment, Through the Darkness!
As Lightkeeper and Guardian are matched; you feel the chemistry and bonding take shape as the two learn to depend on each other while uncovering secrets and the truth of the “Prophecy.” Fearing the outcome of gaining her full powers, Willa relays on Braeden and his guidance. With the Underworlders sensing her “light,” Willa must remain vigilant.
If paranormal is your thing, you may love this book as much as I did. Willa has her Guardian, Braeden to help her through the process of coming into her power. Minor details keep coming up that Willa feels were important to know up front. So her frustration level is high and she has no clue how to deal with coming into her power. There is budding love, suspense and intrigue in this story.
This was a really good book. It was intriguing and I read right through it. It was hard to put down when I had something to get done but so easy to get right back into. The characters are all fun and interesting. You get a bit of a romance blooming and some action going on as well.
My favorite quote would be “Where you find good, you will always find an element of evil. It’s as the Goddess intended.” “The Goddess intended for there to be evil in this world? She didn’t think that one through very well” That sums this story up real well.
I can’t wait to see what comes in the next book in this series. There is so many things that could happen to any one of these characters it will be interesting to see where Amy Manemann takes it.
