This is a revised and edited version. Thank you so much for considering my book!
With peace finally descending on the Romanian Grey Wolves, longtime fae ambassador to the wolves, Perizada, has been given a new mission by the Great Luna. But Peri’s desire for revenge against her sister, Lorelle, burns in her heart. Further complicating matters, the great white wolf, Lucian Lupei, has been … been returned to the pack after centuries trapped in the Dark Forest, and it appears he is destined to be with Peri. Can she put aside her thoughts of vengeance long enough to accept Lucian’s love and complete her mission?

Still listening but, keeping in mind that I’ve already read this story multiple times and loved it, this is my initial impression as of right now. The story is still just as good as the first time I read it. However, the narrator is driving me crazy on a few points. One, the accents that she has chosen for some of the characters are bizarre and irksome. Almost all the accents are overly dramatic and her Romanian accents sometimes sound more southern than Romanian. Two, she doesn’t seem to know how to pronounce the names of some of the characters correctly. I wish she had taken the time to listen to how the names are supposed to be pronounced. (Ex. Decebel is being pronounced as Decebell, and Vasile is being pronounced as Vasel, like Vaseline.) Off to listen to some more. Be back later with more thoughts.
Almost done, but I’m gonna go ahead and finish my review as I already know the ending.
As always I love the story. Quinn Loftis has a knack for writing YA stories that are interesting for all ages. This story takes in a new direction though. Sally, Costin, Peri, Lucian, Adam, Crina, Sorin and Elle have a new mission from the Great Luna. She has tasked them with finding, protecting and training five new healers. Five women of different ages, some of whom have no idea magic is real. With five new healers comes five new mated pairs, but you don’t get to see the pairs meet just yet. That will come in later books. Lorrell is up to her same old shenanigans. Whining about how life is unfair to her and she should be revered more than her sister because she’s better than Peri. Which, of course, we all know is a bunch of crap. I like that this story begins with a bit of a calm, that type of calm that is always present right before a terrible storm. That terrible storm comes in the form of a Fae who was thought to be long dead, Volcan. He is stuck in a spirit form with no form. He was trapped in the Dark Forest, but when Lorrell decided to use it for her last ‘game’, he was sort of awakened. Now, he is determined to obtain the Healers in order to absorb their magic so he can regain his physical form. He a sick, twisted, demented type of foe and he has absolutely no moral or redeeming qualities. I truly didn’t like him, which means the author did an amazing job creating him. I felt so badly for poor Jewel, a 15 yr old girl who is thrust into a world that, until now, she had only minor glimpses of. It’s so sad that their initial introduction into this magical and amazing world had to be so terrible and traumatizing. I’m glad that they managed to rescue the healers that Lorrell and Volcan had gotten their hands on, though I do wish it had been a bit of a quicker rescue. What Jewel had to endure was something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, but she proved her strength throughout, which is something I have a feeling is a trait she will gravely need later. I’m happy to report that Lorrell got her just due in the end. The ending was surprising and I hope that Dalton will get his head out of his rear before he loses more than his common sense.
Well done to the author on another successful story. 5/5 *s for her.
As for the narrator. I managed to listen past her voices, but it still was a bit irksome throughout. I hope, if she’s used for anymore books, she learns the names and chooses better accents. Having said that, I will say that at least she showed the right amount of passion and emotion in her words as she read. I always enjoy books more if the narrator allows the characters emotions to shine through their words. I’m gonna have to say 3/5 stars for the narration simply due to the names being mispronounced and the weird accents.
Off to read/listen to the next book.
Good read for those who like fantasy. Be prepared to read several books for the whole story.
This is the first book in the Gypsy Healers series you should read The Grey Wolves series first though to fully enjoy this series. I like how this series builds off of the other but brings in new characters. The story at times is slow but has excitement and suspense that keeps your attention. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I luv everything about this book it had me hooked into the series which I am about 3 books in love it there are many unexpected twist and turns
Longer than it needed to be, with lots of cheesy humour and hallmarkish declarations of love and devotion. Lots of typos, also. If you can skim past all of that, the actual plotline is decent, though, so I read the whole thing.
I love Quinn Loftis books so much! I got the Prince of Wolves for free, read it, and been a fan since. It’s more teen/YAish but entertaining enough for Adults too. There are romantic parts but nothing really graphic. It’s the action and emotion that grabs you. I would reccomend it!
I love this series. Peri is hilarious, Great characters. You will not get bored. Such a fun book to read. I recommend the Grey Wolf Series which is where i fell in love with Peri and this author!
I have read all of the Grey Wolf series, the fae and the gypsy healer series. Would read them all again too. Really enjoyed them all!
LOVED IT!!!
This is ANOTHER GREAT READ, it’s right off the end of the grey wolves series . No need to say more Quinn Lofftis is one of my VERY FAVORITE AUTHERS.
Just lost intrest quickly
I enjoy reading a variety of books. This book offered some thinking that went into
It. So many genres seem to be the same. This felt a cut above. Twas not moralizing, but not raunchy either. So many fairy stories just let them run a muck, make mischief. The sisters had an agenda to work on that is resolved after a lot of action. Dark in spots, but it makes a point.
A little bit of a slow start for me but then I just wanted to keep reading
Loved the storyline!!
More focused on love story than plot
Great characters, interesting story. Many typos were distracting.
This was an interesting read, but I sometimes felt as if I came into the book mid-series. Like I had missed a previous book that gave backstory to the characters and story history.
The writer is a decent wordsmith, but maybe rushed into finishing the story.
All the elements are there bit repetitive.
Addicted to the Grey Wolves and Healer series. I read them over and over and they never get old. Highly recommend.
Loved it
