Is there such a thing as too perfect? Lisa Millar wasn’t supposed to fall in love with a guy on the Internet. But she did. Other than living over five thousand miles away in America, AJ Williams is seemingly her perfect match. Strikingly handsome, musically talented, plays hockey and has a typical college-guy life. In a moment of carpe diem, Lisa flies from Ireland to Alabama to surprise her … internet-beau and finds herself face to face with an inconceivable reality that she couldn’t possibly have prepared for. How well can you truly know someone you meet online? Will true love win out, or will AJ’s secret life be too much for Lisa to bear?

This was such a heart warming read that gave me all the fuzzies The story involves Lisa and AJ who meet online. AJ lives in Alabama and Lisa in Northern Ireland. Lisa flies out to surprise him. But is AJ hiding something?? The plot definitely kept me on my toes! Lisa’s inner monologue kept me laughing! I don’t want to give to much away though . I’m off to read AJ’s first book to get his perspective while Lisa’s book is still fresh in my mind
The first book in Lasairiona McMaster’s romance series, this was a great read. It’s a book you don’t want to put down, with relatable characters, that make you feel deep: you laugh, you smile, you cringe, you cry, you want to throw something at one of the character only to want to hug them a minute later… this book is just the beginning of the story, though it can standalone.
I highly recommend it.
This is the first book in a new series. This is also a new author for me. I enjoyed reading AJ and Lisa’s story. It took a little bit to get the characters straightened out but it all comes together as the story builds and unfolds. Relationships are challenging all on their own but add in a continent of long distance and never meeting face to face to the mix. This is not all, Lisa decides to surprise AJ and shows up in America for a visit, this story is just getting started. I really enjoyed the story and meeting the many characters that I was introduced to. I cannot wait to read more of the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from the author.
I really enjoyed this book and loved watching Lisa’s relationship with AJ’s friends and family develop. This is the first book I have read by this author but I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series as well as the series that focus on other characters. I do think the book could use a bit more editing, but otherwise highly recommend.
Intimate Strangers (Lisa Millar #1) by Lasairiona E. McMaster is a contemporary, new adult, sports romance. The story is told in the third person as it follows the protagonist, Lisa Millar, as she travels to the United States from Northern Ireland to surprise her online boyfriend, and meet him face to face for the very first time. But that’s only the beginning.
I don’t want to spoil anything, so this review is going to be on the shorter side. I really enjoyed Intimate Strangers. I thought it started out a little bit slow, but as I learned more about the characters and got to know Lisa through her amusing internal self-talk, I was very invested in her story. Through many twists and difficult situations, I rooted for Lisa and AJ the whole time. By the end of the book, I was ready to jump into book two, The Good In Goodbye, so I could find out what happens next in their story.
