Time is not a river. It is a vast cosmic sea. Where each life exists as rippling circles on its surface, past and future being eternally present. And occasionally, one expanding ring intertwines with that of another, weaving the lives of two people together…
In 2012, Emme Wilde can’t find the right guy. She wants to feel that swept-off-your-feet dizziness of true love. But so far, her dating … so far, her dating life has come up short. Star Trek geek? Nice but too serious. Hippy artist? Cute but too vulnerable. Instead, Emme obsesses over the portrait of an unknown man in an old locket. Granted, a seriously dreamy guy with delicious, wind-swept hair she just itches to run her fingers through. But still. Dead men may be great listeners, but they are not exactly boyfriend material. Emme travels to England, determined to uncover his history and conquer the strong connection she feels.
In 1812, James Knight has given up finding the right woman. All he wants is someone to share his love of adventure. Instead, his life has become a Shakespearean drama. His brother languishes in a tragic star-crossed romance. His beloved sister clings to life, slowly dying of consumption. But then he finds a beautiful mystery woman, dripping wet and half-dead, beneath a tree on his estate. Now if he can uncover her history, perhaps adventure — and romance — will find him at last.

Time travel romance done right, straight into the Regency period with plenty of bells and whistles and Easter eggs, too. This is the series starter and the contrasts between modern and Regency behavior are entertainingly explored even as the stakes are raised. Romantic and yet screamingly funny at times, too.
Review on Book #5, the end of the Series.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!
My sister told me I MUST read Nichole Van. I’ll be honest, I usually require at least one steamy scene, so was surprised to find myself falling head over heels for, well, all of her books, but Intertwine is officially my favorite. James is my latest crush; talk about head over heels! All responsibility with a great wit and sense of adventure. I …
I loved this book so much I went and bought the rest of the books that come after it! I just love James and Emme and the characters we meet that make up the rest of the series!
I absolutely love this book. It was witty and I couldn’t put it down! It kept me captivated in its pages and it wasn’t predictable which made it that much more interesting! Contains intelligent descriptive writing that paints a picture in your mind and leaves you feeling more educated at the same time. Keeps it clean and cute but just enough …
I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this first book. Immediately went back & bought the next two. I wasn’t disappointed. Love the characters, dialogue & story. Grab your favorite beverage, sit in a comfy chair & enjoy!
I enjoyed this book so much! It had a great story line that kept you wanting to not put it down. It was a fast read, for me anyway. I recommend it to anyone who likes romantic time travel books.
Despite the bad reviews, I really enjoyed this book. James & Emme are a magical couple, the kind of couple you hear about in fairy tales. The story starts with Emme, a woman living in the twenty-first century, obsessing over history and travel and a little locket she mysteriously finds. The locket holds a photo of a man that makes her lose her …
Loved it! Bought the entire series after reading it.
When the fiction reading market is swamped with young women falling into something that inevitably leads to an 18th century Highlander Laird, how much fun it is for a very modern woman to use a portal knowingly! And not into the Highlands of Scotland — however beautiful they are. (Three weeks, rental car, husband and no itinerary and we still …
I’ve read a lot of books and this is one of my favorite series ever! Treat yourself to this one but be sure to start at the beginning and read in order.
I loved it so much, I read it in one day and moved on to the others in the series. Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining….and tear-inducing at times. Loved the characters – flaws and all. More, please!
Wonderful characters and dialogue. I was drawn into the story right away and could hardly put it down. Great twists in the story. I’m not always one for time travel but she did it well. Excellent series!
a bit wordly otherwise a nice story but it was you needed to buy book two and three and so on to find out what happen
This is my second book by Nichole Van. I have thoroughly enjoyed both. But this one was fun and dreamy with a uniquely believable time travel storyline and fated lovers. There is amnesia and a bit of mystery and the fun of comparing lives 200 years apart. But most of all there is a “swoony” romance which begins from very early in the story — so …
I got through 25% and some of the story honestly wasn’t bad. But the adventure began to fall apart at that point, plus there began to be an increasing bunch of grammatical errors, e.g. who’s instead of whose. Really rookie flubs that a writer of this caliber ought not to commit. So I quit.
I truly enjoyed this book. It made me giggle and cry during the whole story. I was a bit worried about liking this book when I first read the summary but I decided to give it a try and LOVE IT!
Started book 2 in the series.
Starts out kind of slow but stick with it… By the end of the book I had to buy the next in the series – and I NEVER pay for books…
This was a good and somewhat typical “time travel” story. Enjoyed
