The stunning conclusion to Parallel.Someone has torn them apart in the past, and she plans to do it again… Nick why she stopped using them in the first place.
He may never forgive her when he learns the truth, but Quinn is running out of options—because the clock is ticking, and it’s no longer just her life that hangs in the balance.

REVIEW: 4+ STARS
“We’ve spent our lives insisting unusual things were normal. Maybe it’s time we stopped.”
This will go down as one of my favorite duets of the year. The discussions I had with some of my friends that jumped in right after I did were very FLAMBOYANT. I’m pretty sure my comments were pretty theatrical at some point while I was trying to read it and message a friend that had already read it. HAHA!! We were throwing theories around like confetti. There was so much to discuss and plenty to debate. Once again, my favorite part about books. This one was NO different. For the finale in a duet, I am both happy and sad. Happy that I finally got to read more of their journey, but so sad because they are leaving me….just gone. All done. Fin. I am pretty sure this empty feeling I have is akin to a book hangover. I really do miss these characters and the angstiness I felt while reading this epic story.
Nick has got to be one of the most amazing male characters I’ve read all year. I have read some good ones – not gonna lie, but he was amazing. He made me smile. He grabbed ahold of this connection that had no possible reality to it and he ran with it. He felt it. He accepted it. I loved him so much!! And the strength that Quinn possessed was unreal. To be thrust into another life or world, and not understand what could possibly be happening? I mean, you’re basically going in blind to another LIFE. This couple was destiny in all the definitions out there. This wasn’t really fate to me….it was pure destiny. It was such a neat story to read and I am so glad I took the chance on it. I am so excited to share it with someone, for sure, because I know the discussions will be so animated. There really was so much depth and creativity behind this story that I couldn’t help but wrangle a few friends into a discussion after we all read it. Absolutely in love. I cannot say that enough.
But their chemistry together? It was atomic. Undeniably HOT. Like, ridiculously chemical on every level. Argh!! Their love and devotion, their desire, it was insanity squared. Around each other, it was like being caught up in a storm and watching them unhinge. When they were in each other’s arms, it was so awesome to see this unabashed affection pour out. That level of temptation between them was so intense and I read with so much fascination at their pull towards one another. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other, and I love how that played into their story as well. It wasn’t just a connection they couldn’t explain, it was an attraction they couldn’t deny. It was meant to be.
“Just promise me you’ll wait for me. Promise you’ll be here when I get home.”
The emotions were on point. The love was all consuming. The storyline was addicting. I was 1000% invested in this story and the characters. I’m also very shocked that I have never hear of or read Elizabeth O’Roark before. I feel like I have to blame someone for that….again. HAHAHA!
I feel like I got a very good look at Elizabeth O’Roark’s writing style and voice with this duet, and now I have to go through and check out her catalog of books and see what I can squeeze in. She gave me an amazing story, definitely not a normal one, and allowed me to get caught up and fall in love with not only some amazing characters, but a storyline that is just….different. Her imagination astounds me. I love how she was able to infuse so much reality into an otherwise impossible situation, and just ran with it. I am so sad it’s over. I loved it!! Gosh, the scenarios that were described and fleshed out, the possibilities, the mind-boggling potential about everything that was presented was insane. My mind was racing, my heart was falling…and to be able to look back on my theories and know how close I was to being right, but also how far off I was is pretty neat to see now.
This book was shaping up and reading like a favorite book. I won’t lie and say that this book didn’t put me through the wringer, because it honestly did. It wore me out and my heart was tired by the time I was done reading the whole duet – it was intense in some spots, absolutely heartbreaking in others, but overall amazing. But somewhere along the ride, it sort of lost its edge for a bit. Not in a “this story is ruined now” kind of way….but it slowed down and I don’t think I was ready for that. But the way O’Roark tied up every string left hanging from the first book, that was awesome. I feel like it’s pretty notable how well she introduced some events, allowed me to come up with some theories – viable ones too, and then she explained it all along the way and cleaned them right up! So much going on, but I wasn’t left confused about anything and I was intrigued from the first page of the first book until the very end of the last book. I am literally sitting here on my couch, arms extended telling you….begging you to read this duet.
This entire book, discussing any part of it would be spoilery because of the slow, methodical unravelling, one page at a time. I do know that this entire duet had me completely fascinated for two full days. I read both books in record time – for the Bee, that is. There were spots that I was so excited about the possibilities, or the unfolding of the storyline, that I couldn’t sit still. I was a messaging fool while I was reading this one – my poor friends!! I was excited and anxious, wide-eyed and shocked. The whole time I was reading, I wasn’t without discovery. I know I always talk about discovery, but that is my favorite part. I want to be taken away. I want to be enamored with characters and taken for a ride with the story – and this duet did that. After reading my first books by Elizabeth O’Roark, I will be back for more for sure.
I just loved it. I absolutely loved it. I really can’t complain at all and I already miss Nick and Quinn so much…someone, please hold me.

I inhaled this duet. I love to read, but it’s books like these that remind me why. It had ALL the feels. And when I learned the thing about the thing? I sobbed. SOBBED. I lost a full day of work and two nights sleep, and I couldn’t be happier.
Must read
Love Nick & Quinn!
I couldn’t wait to start this part of the story, wondering what was awaiting Nick & Quinn. I was not disappointed!
Their relationship only grew to an unbelievably amazing level meeting the challenges head on with each other’s support and understanding. Elizabeth O’Roark weaves an intricate tapestry of intriguing words that completely enraptured me! I LOVE this Duet!
Great read. Highly recommend.

Quinn Stewart still wonders what’s a dream and what’s reality. Nick Reilly has me thinking, “does he or doesn’t he?” Time is a big theme here. One thing it shows is how it affects you as well as those around you. It has me wondering about its affects on our expectations. This book however seemed to have more questions because every time you turn around something happens that just creates one more puzzle piece.
One thing is evident and that is that you can’t start this series with the second book. You will be lost so it’s best to start at the beginning. You will want to get to know the characters as well as the situation they find themselves in. I found this much more steamy and the author teases her readers a lot more. This series shows how creative Ms. O’Roark is. There’s a saying, “you just can’t make this stuff up” but they haven’t met this author.
This is a story that engages the mind. It forces you to really look at what we believe and adds in something that you might say “no way!” Everything seems so realistic that it just might be possible – after all, haven’t you ever had a déjà vu moment? I still couldn’t think of it as a time travel trope though. It’s more like living a previous life and you’re starting to remember what you experienced at that point in time. The romance is a perk but not what I felt was important. I loved thinking what I would do should I be in Quinn’s position. And the ending just left me wondering what other possibilities may be coming my way – especially when it comes to this Parallel universe. So make sure to check out the “present” that’s left for the reader.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Second book was just as good as the first one. Secrets are coming to the light and the stakes get even higher.
A great read. It grapped me from the first to the last page.
I had other plans that got completely derailed because I needed to read this book from start to finish to find out how it was going to end for Nick and Quinn. It did not disappoint! Nick and Quinn are running out of time and the consequence will cost them dearly. There was never a doubt that they belonged together, their hearts and souls recognized one another from one lifetime to the next so it’s impossible to keep them apart. Someone is pulling the strings behind a curtain to alter their future and needs to be stopped pronto. The premise behind Quinn’s ability is fascinating and cleverly written, along with Nick’s acceptance and understanding. They are a fabulous couple together, I loved everything about them – the dialogue, the chemistry, the sexual tension, the affection and the resolve to protect the other. There is no sacrifice too great in the name of love and I was definitely surprised by the turn of events, in the very best way. Quinn has to confront something dark in her past, worrying about how Nick will handle the information, but at the same time, it can free her to be stronger than ever because it will be necessary for survival. The lead up to the turning point really builds up the anticipation and the stakes in the game that kept me turning the pages enthusiastically, with so many questions to answer. And when I got those answers, I was floored. Needless to say, the conclusion was fantastic! This duet is a top read of the year for me and a must-read for you.
So much Love for this duet!
In every lifetime there is the love that never ends.
Quinn & Nick’s love is that love.
The epic conclusion of this Awesome duet was everything!
This was a great follow up to the first book in this duet. There is a shocking twist I didn’t see coming at all. To be honest, after letting the reality of the twist set in, I’m kind of mad at Quinn. I can’t really say why as not to give anything away. However, her actions seem to be what spurred all the events into action. Over all, I still really enjoyed the book and look forward to more!

‘Intersect’ is the second book of the ‘Parallel duet’. You really have to read the first book to read this one. I enjoyed the first book and I was curious about how Nick and Quinn’s story would end.
I found this story one of the hardest to rate. Because the writing itself was very good. If I had to rate the writing alone, I would give this book 4 stars but then you have my feelings about this story and I think just like ‘Alice in Wonderland’ I fell in the rabbit hole. It all started good, although I did found the first part a bit slow and then in the second part you discovered secret after secret after secret. And it’s there that the actual story started to lose my attention and where I started thinking more about the whole time travel subject and the consequences of it. I got lost in thoughts like ‘what if this would happen’ or ‘what if that would happen’ or ….. and because of that, the story lost his bit of magic and attention for me. And I’m sad about that. Just like the fact that although we did get a happy end, this is the one time that I’m not 100% convinced that this happy end could stay a happy end forever and all that has made me conflicted about the story and my feelings on it.
I have read other time travels stories in the past and never had this problem before but this time I got lost in thoughts about all the consequence. That one little thing can change a whole future and that is a scary thought.
I can say that most questions are answered in this book, but not all. There are still a few things that I’m left wondering about but maybe that will get answered in the next book that is about another couple (family of Quinn) . ‘Intersect’ is again told in both POV’s. The characters were again likeable. Although Quinn became more stubborn in this story. One thing that I loved very much about this story is the absolute love and trust that Nick and Quinn share. You can really feel their chemistry, their connection throughout the story.
Although I enjoyed this writer her other books very much. I think that her travel time stories are not for me.
Fantastic conclusion to The Parallel Duet. Nick & Quinn’s love, their commitment to finding their truth and happiness was completely fleshed out with twists and turns that had my mind racing and my heart filled with pleasure. Simply a must read.
Intersect by Elizabeth O’Roark is the second book in her brand new Parallel Duet . A romantic tale of two people who seem destined to be together but are pulled apart time and again by time and by some, as yet unknown, enemy.
Well-written and well paced, told in dual points of view between Quinn, our heroine that somehow intimately knows a man she has never met, details of a life they’ve never lived, and the specific of places she has never traveled to and Nick, the doctor she meets for the first time but already knows in her heart. As the stress and danger ramp up in this stunning conclusion Nick and Quinn find themselves chasing the danger, learning answers to questions they didn’t even know to ask, and ultimately getting more than they could ever hope for. Enjoy!
What a fantastic end for this thrilling duet! Intersect was everything I expected it to be and more!
Intersect starts right where Parallel ends with Quinn dreaming, or not, into the past. Some truths are delivered and I had no idea of where the plot would go. Twists, so many twists are given to us, making us guess what will happen next!
I loved to see this strong Quinn. This woman wont give up no matter what life presents her and Nick will do everything he can to save her and their love.
Prepare your Kleenex because once the truth is revealed and you truly understand what was really going on, I am sure some tears will make an appearance.
I wish the story didn’t had to end… I would read more and more about Quinn and Nick anytime!
The start of this story seemed to drag for me. Not on a bad way, just in a way that I was hoping that it would be more intense after the last ending. I really loved this story as a whole. I don’t want to give too much away but it was pretty much everything that I was hoping for and fingers crossed that the author will write more books in this world or at least something similar. It was intense in parts, a little predictable (at least for me) but that didn’t take away from the overall impact of some of the scenes. This was my 2nd book by this author (being I read book 1 of this duet) but I will be looking into her other books. She has a beautiful writing style. 4 star #2OCCJD
“I hope you know what you’re doing. It’s a hard life.”
“Time traveling?”
He shakes his head, staring at the rope in his weathered hands. “No,” he says. “Being the one who has to stay behind.”
Part final in the duology, Intersect has the mission to wrap up the story of Quinn and Nick, reveal the secrets and explain the great mystery. And the book does it brilliantly. The twists and turns are so many, that out of all the scenes I set in my mind, I never expected the final revelation. Love binds the characters through the ages. And love is the great protagonist, being the reason for the great final sacrifice.
Continuing shortly after the end of the previous book, Quinn and Nick are trying to unravel the mystery behind the figure that is chasing Quinn, but other problems arise to put them in a turbulent situation. Quinn is still sick, Nick may have his career threatened, Jeff shows his true face, while Quinn’s dreams move forward and show her a past that she prefers does not remember, a past where she may have contributed to a tragedy, another timeline where she remembers an important moment of the life that she shared with Nick and dreams with a very familiar but strange woman at the same time.
As stated in the first book review, it is impossible to give too much information for fear of delivering something important. The book is full of mysteries and revelations, some questions are answered but bigger questions arise. I was right about Rose. It was predictable. Nick’s reaction was comical.
The story is different, with a plot fleeing from the common, well-developed and coherent, the end delivers satisfactorily everything that was presented. Quinn’s parents will win a book of their own and I hope that in this volume we have the answers to some loose ends.
The love story of Quinn and Nick is epic. Even though the journey was turbulent, and the happy ending seemed distant, the two managed to win and stay together. In this and in how many lives are needed.

OMG, this book is magnificent! Time-travel romances are not my trope of choice but this book blew my mind. This author is brilliant! I don’t know how she kept all those parallel lives sorted, because I had to backtrack to sort them out for me.
I was fascinated by this book, partly because the characters were so interesting, and because the plot had parallel lives, and a big mystery that kept me glued to the book. At the beginning I was even anxious because I wanted so hard for Quinn and Nick to have their HEA and I had no idea how they could resolve their situation. Towards the end, this time travel thing got even more complicated, and there are several plot twists that leave your jaw hanging open.
There’s not much I can say about this book without spoilers, so suffice to say that it’s a page turner, that the action doesn’t stop, that it has many yummy sexy scenes, and the love between Quinn and Nick continues to burn bright hot, and their problems continue but Nick is determined to fix them so he can have a forever life with Quinn. She is more fatalist and sometimes gives up, but the force of life that is Nick doesn’t let go and he’ll go to the last place on earth to find a solution.
There are old enemies and new allies found in this book also. Sometimes I wanted Quinn to get a spine and start telling her mother and Jeff off; they were so overbearing. She’s a gentle soul and she needed a boost in badassery.
Overall, this is a terrific book, keeps you enthralled beginning to end, and we get a fantastic ending. The author promised more stories about Quinn and Nick and I am so looking forward to those!
When it was written in the synopsis that Intersect is “the stunning conclusion to Parallel,” that is not an exaggeration. As was the case with the Parallel, this is the best read of 2019!!!!
Intersect picks up right where Parallel left off, and it takes off with a bang! O’Roark just does a fabulous job of connecting everything from the title to the conclusion. Parallel perfectly depicts what Book 1 is about, parallel lives. And everything “intersects” and comes together flawlessly for the conclusion in Intersect!
“I feel light entering more of the dark space inside of me, as something that’s waited a lifetime to blossom begins to unfurl.” ~Quinn
Quinn and Nick are a race against time to solve the mysteries and finally find the truth about the lives they have shared. What they discover involves twists and turns they were not expecting, and I certainly wasn’t expecting these twists myself. But, holy cow, they were AWESOME!!!!
The romance is perfectly paced, and these two truly are soulmates destined to be together, despite what others may think. I was so glad to see Quinn finally find her own voice and courage, all with Nick’s steady support.
This is a book unlike any other I have EVER read! It blends mystery, paranormal, and romance into the absolutely PERFECT read! This duet is the MUST READ of 2019!!!!
I highly recommend this duet! I have to say I liked Parallel a tiny bit more than Intersect because the mystery was so intriguing. I think the way how things ended and including the revelations, I’m not sure was the best reveal I was hoping for. I will admit the last 10% was also hurting my brain lol. I WILL be back for Quinn’s parents story though.
Quinn and Nick’s love story continues in this sequel to Parallel. The spark between them continues to sizzle and grow as they try to figure out why someone doesn’t want them together. This is NOT Insta-love. This is powerful love that stands the test of time: a relationship fated and doomed all at once. As I read this, I thought about how powerful memory is. We gauge our lives on memory. What happens when it’s changed? Would I still have some residual memories to grasp on to? I have a younger sister with a traumatic brain injury and her short term memory is forever damaged. She relies a lot on notes to piece together her days. But she doesn’t remember most of her day. And it frustrates her and causes anxiety. She describes having a piece of it that she cant quite capture. And this is what reminds me of this extraordinarily emotional story.
Quinn and Nick have bits and pieces of truth, but not enough. This story is beyond a romance. It’s life or death circumstances, and neither Nick or Quinn want to give up their quest for knowledge. More secrets are revealed and none of it is obvious. Cliched romance is shoved aside in favor of a mystery unlike any you’ve read before. The chemistry keeps burning brightly between the two lovers. The dialogue is crisp and nothing is insignificant. The secondary characters don’t overwhelm the story.
I continue to be enraptured by the spellbinding and enchanting vision O’Roark achieves here. It evokes a fairy tale feel with a grounding reality that takes you to a place where you might have your own romance that transcends time and space.
