Kristy Marie brings all the feels in this heart wrenching, emotional journey of overcoming obstacles, and finding love in the most unexpected places. Blurb:Heartbreakingly beautiful and devastatingly annoying, Timaeus Lambros, a deaf, former military translator, has just been assigned as my co-teacher for the rest of the school year. His stupid-hot face gets on my nerves. So does his well-fitting … the rest of the school year.
His stupid-hot face gets on my nerves.
So does his well-fitting jeans.
Charming and gorgeous men like him should not be teachers. They should be locked away in a storage closet… with me.
But that’s just a teachers’ lounge fantasy with a big dreamy sigh attached.
Tim and I can never be a thing. He’s broody and closed off, while I’m the new owner of a one-way ticket back to Costa Rica, thanks to budget cuts.
But my abuelita always said life wasn’t a fairytale. So even if Tim does have a magical tongue and a dreamy body, we still might not get a happily ever after.
Praise for Interpreter:
Interpreter is a captivating, emotional and swoon-worthy romance with so much heart, and you’ll laugh, cry, smile, blush and probably swoon. Mary, Frolic
A heartwarming, emotional read that will having you laughing your heart out, give you chills and leave you breathless. Jenny, Queen of the Books
The intimacy between Milah and Tim is beautiful in the most pure way possible. I am referring to real all-encompassing intimacy. The way they connect is organic and fluid – they fill each other’s needs without even trying. They were so many scenes that left me in tears or with goosebumps from experiencing this with them. Our Dirty Little Kindles
Interpreter is an incredible and heartfelt read! Kristy Marie delivers an emotional book filled with laugh-out-loud moments, all the angst from a broody hero, witty banter, and so much sass from a strong Latina heroine! Sara N., Goodreads Reviewer

***** 5 Oorah STARS! *****
This is Kristy Marie at her best! I absolutely devoured this book! It is everything we love about K Marie’s writing…it’s witty and sexy with all-consuming characters, including a broody ex-Marine hero and sassy Latina heroine. The emotional story of Tim & Milah will steal your heart, and the interwoven humor of our favorite Commander in Briefs characters will have you laughing hysterically in between your tears of joy and heartache for this couple. It is an absolute MUST READ!
Interpreter is the fourth book in this interconnected series but can be read in my opinion as a standalone. This is my first reading from the author and after this, I’m looking forward for more of this world!
Tim is a war veteran and has lost his hearing. This has caused him to be broody, angry at the world and depressed. Through the urging of his newfound family, he agreed to work as a co-teacher to a hot Latina teacher, Milah. With Milah, he met his match. She is sassy, spitfire, take-no-shit-from-anyone attitude. With her loving and caring ways, he has started to live his life with colors and meaning.
I love the chemistry between these two! Specially when Tim will bait Milah just to see her flustered and angry. This story is swoon worthy, lots of laugh out loud moments, loyalty and family love. And oh Pe! I would love to have him as BFF. This book made me realize that family does not mean you share a blood; it’s those you share everything with- the high and low, thick or thin, the works. Loved it!
“Please buckle your seat belt, Mr. Lambros is one crazy ride.”
I can’t describe this book better than the quote above does. Every time I finished a book in this series, I think it can’t get any better than this. And then comes the next book and knocks me off my feet instantly. Interpreter is, hands down, the most emotional book in this series and I couldn’t get enough of Tim and Milah.
“Always be brave. Especially when you’re scared.”
Tim is such a beautiful soul, you want to hug and cuddle him all the time. Not to mention what his hotness might do to your female parts. He’s sexy inside out and I don’t blame Milah for falling for him.
Milah is Tim’s perfect match in any way. She’s the fuel to ignite his fire to its full potential. She’s such a caring soul, putting others always first before her own needs.
Milah’s and Tim’s chemistry is off the charts and their story will break your heart in more ways than one.
“”I feel you here,” he whispers, placing my hand on his heart.”
I absolutely loved this book!
Milah is a teacher from Costa Rica, and lives in the States with a work visa. Unfortunately her job is on the line and no job means no visa.
Tim starts working for the school and is helping out in Milah’s classroom.
They have great banter between them, sparks are flying, Milah gives as good as she gets it. I love the dynamic between them. Throw in Oliver, that absolutely adorable little boy.
This book is absolutely fantastic, so much love. It lets your ovaries explode lol.
A must read in this series. Can be read as a stand-alone, but I advise to read in order, to get to know each member of the foundation.
I kindly received an arc from the author and voluntarily left a review
Incredible, amazing, swoon worthy and LOVED this book. I laughed, I cried and I swooned for Tim and Milah. These two are amazing. At the beginning of this book I broke when Tim broke and I couldn’t stop my tears. I love how his Commander and family wouldn’t give up on Tim and supported him through thick and thin. Milah is an amazing character. I loved her and Felipe. Those two are hilarious and had me rolling laughing. Milah moved to the United States on a dream and wanting a better life. Even though being a teacher wasn’t her first choice she comes across a sweet boy to help him learn sign language. When Tim starts his first day as Milah’s teacher helper more than just sparks fly. I honestly didn’t think I would love a character more than Theo, but the way that Kristy wrote Tim’s character Lord Baby Jesus!!! That man, can I have him in real life?? Once the sparks flew between Milah and Tim there was not denying those two. Not hearing loss or a work visa could get in their way. But what wowed me the most was the ending. I’m a sucker for a HEA and Tim, Milah and little Oliver was everything. I can’t want for more from this crew.
Who knew Tim had so many layers? Kristy wrote this story about Tim and Milah and I feel as though it is the best one yet!!
Tim needed someone spicy to get him out of his funk and Milah was the perfect mate. She challenged him from the first meeting, which sparked some life into him.
Of course, the supporting cast members are excellent, but Tim and Milah rule this story as they should.
Interpreter by Kristy Marie was a beautiful and emotional ride. After reading the synopsis, I had a feeling this book would be a unique and moving read, and I was not disappointed.
Timaeus was a broody musical prodigy living in denial, and Milah was a sweet, sassy girl waiting for her time in America to run out. These two together were wonderful. They were feisty and fun. They had such hot physical chemistry, and they also shared a deep, emotional connection that made them even more special as a couple.
Then, add in the secondary characters. Oliver and Aspen were such adorable and irresistible children, and the other members of the foundation and their significant others rounded out the story. I laughed out loud multiple times throughout the book and smiled even more.
I’ll be adding the other books of the series to my TBR, because after reading this Kristy Marie story, I need to go back for more.

ARC REVIEW
Speechless.
This book has made me truly and utterly speechless. I am positive my review will make no sense because this incredibly touching book has turned my mind into goo.
‘Interpreter’ by Kristy Marie is book number four in an incredible series that follows struggling Marines in their search for hope and happiness, and their respective quirky and stubborn heroines ready to take on the world for their men.
If I hadn’t known to expect such greatness from this book, I would’ve flipped out when reading this beauty, but thanks to the previous books in the series I knew what or more like whom I was willingly offering my heart to.
It has been an absolute pleasure to see and follow this author’s journey, to see her grow, change and evolve. Seeing her being so passionate about the stories in her head that she won’t send the books off unless they are up to standard, perfect for each and every reader to fall in love with it and make it a part of their heart. And rest assured that even in the most random time of the day, something will remind you about these books and then you’ll feel like your soul is made of pure southern sunshine.
I cannot even begin to explain how much this series means to me, how recklessly in love I am with these characters, how they never fail to surprise me, lift my mood but also bring me to my knees.
Every character is special to me, they all own a little bit of my heart and are something I will never ever forget, but I knew that from the very first moment that Tim would own a bigger piece than most.
Tim is a big, bad and broody marine who couldn’t be more perfectly imperfect if he tried. He is domineering and straight-up alpha but he’s also kind and sweet and caring, he is someone who can melt you with one look and bring you to your knees with one word.
Tim is protective of his family and would go to the ends of the world to keep each of them safe and happy, especially little Aspen (who by the way is super cute and has the best sides of Ans and Theo in her), but no matter how happy Tim is around his family, when it comes to opening up and letting people in he is a real mess.
He is going through one of the hardest things anyone could ever go through, losing his hearing. It has really taken a toll on him and no matter how much he tries to convince himself and those around him that he is fine, deep down he knows he is not and reality is about to slap him in the face. A reality in the form of a fiery, hard-headed Latina who won’t take no for an answer as much as she won’t take her heels off or share her mint M&M’s.
Milah is a crazy little thing with more sass anyone should ever be allowed to have, a smart mouth, killer body and gentle heart. She is a true Costa Rican beauty who has passion and fire running through her veins on a daily basis, with sometimes a splash of Jose too!
She is smart and hard-working, ready to make the best of her life, she is funny and caring, attentive to everyone’s needs and just completely off the rails in the best way possible.
Milah is confident and focused on everything she does, but when it comes to making a certain broody Marine feel alive again, she will have to exert more energy, making her attentive to every detail, every movement and every twitch.
This story is not just about pain and love, it is about so so so much more it’s hard to even put it into words.
This story will give you values, love, loyalty, family, friendship and everything you could ever ask for in a book.
Not only do we get to see Tim and Milah navigate through life and its obstacle that sometimes feel insurmountable, but we also see a close-knit family ready to go to war for every member, a family that loves fiercely, cares fiercely and fights fiercely, crazy friendships born in the most unconventional that will make you smile so much your face will hurt, swoon-worthy couples that will get giggles outta you and make you feel light and in love.
You will see people that have to go through hell and back to be happy, people that don’t believe there’s anything left for them in this life and will have to fight their way back to find hope again, people that need to see the truth before their eyes before they can truly see what life has to offer them. Joy. Music. Feels.
This book is a touching story that will latch onto your soul and never let go.
You will cry and scream and feel the angst as if it were your own, laugh at the characters’ quirkiness, at their unique relationships and crazy interactions.
This is a must-read book for anyone who’s ready to feel and finally open their eyes, letting their heart free no matter how scary it may seem.
If you haven’t checked this series out yet, then I believe you are missing something in your life, ‘Commander’, ‘Gorgeous’, ‘Drifter’, ‘Pitcher’ and now ‘Interpreter’ by Kristy Marie are all available now, so you better run and start binge-reading!
4 He’s a Fighter Stars!!!
This is my first book by Kristy Marie and what a great introduction to her writing. This book touched me in so many ways. Tim and Milah are both fighters for what they want. The difference though is that they’re fighting for different things. Milah is a is a sassy woman that’s having Tim forced on her as a co-teacher in her class and trust me when I tell you it’s the last thing either of them want for a variety of reasons.
Tim is a man that is alpha to the core and he’s part of a “family” that is self-made and they’re pressuring him to be more social outside of their little group. Especially as he’s fighting the battle of his life….losing his hearing. And he’s not taking it well….until Milah crashes into his life and makes him have all sorts of thoughts that are definitely not classroom related!
While these two were opposites I loved their banter back and forth. She’s somewhat shy but is drawn to him and manages to spout off to him when he makes her feel uncomfortable because that’s what we do when we don’t want to admit something to ourselves.
This book is filled with laughter at all the right moments too. It’s a tension breaker that is definitely needed at times because his family does not let him get away with ANYTHING!! There’s also moments of angst that had my heart weeping as we learn more about Tim’s life. Milah for her part has a plan, but there’s a major wrench thrown into it and she’s got to figure out how to continue to live the life she’s built for herself.
Ms. Marie is a talented author and really drew me into this story and all the characters. The cast of secondary characters is rich and hearty. Providing moments of tenderness and hilarity. I wanted to be part of this family that’s for sure. I loved how there are little moments of the past as we learn about Tim’s past providing the much needed details of what drives him today. Of course, this too changes the more he’s around Milah and feelings grow for her. Watching their relationship develop and become a deep and unbidding love was truly beautiful. It heals so many internal wounds!
Overall, I’m so glad I took the leap with this book because I love reading new to me authors. The only drawback for me is that I think that the previous books in the series need to be read prior to this one. It technically could be a standalone, but there were several moments reading this book that I felt like I was missing something because I didn’t have the full history of the other characters who’s books came before this one. I think having that history would’ve richened my reading experience.
I’m definitely going to go back and read the previous books in this series because I’m now an official Kristy Marie fan and want to read all her words and immerse myself in the fabulous worlds she creates with her words.
I absolutely love Tim!!! Interpreter is just perfect! Kristy Marie did amazing things with Tim and Milah’s story.
Timaeus Lambros is the broody, sexy as sin, ex marine that is not handling his new reality well. Milah Iglesias is the sweet teacher who has had her world turned upside down with one simple sentence. Tim and Milah’s story is heartfelt, and might just be one of my favorites. Add in sweet little Olivier and my heart is just overwhelmingly happy.
These two are absolutely perfect for each other. Their chemistry and connection is there right from the start. They both fight it for different reasons, but once they give in, they really give in. Milah and Olivier heal Tim without even realizing what they are doing. I loved reading the change in him. My heart ached for him in the beginning. I think no matter how long you prepare for something like that it doesn’t make it happening any easier.
I love the entire Commander in Briefs crew! The family that they have created is amazing, and the love and affection they have for each other is fantastic. They also know how to add laugh out loud moments to help with the most serious of issues!
Everything about this book I absolutely loved! The writing, the storyline, the characters! Tim and Milah’s story was absolutely perfect and I never wanted it to end! I can’t wait to see what she brings us next!
As I sit here with tears still running down my face, every sense is alive. I SEE all the beauty that this story brought to life. I could SMELL the fear that Tim and Milah were feeling deep in their soul. At times the simple actions of their love was like a TOUCH that lit my heart on fire. Their story gave me a TASTE of what real hope could do to bring that spark back to life. The best thing of all was that I could HEAR their words deep within. Tim I sensed your heartache, your pain and the fear that you held deep inside. However, what Tim and Milah granted me from the words of their story was nothing short of absolute pure love and these two gave it a voice that you heard loud and clear.
Oh, Tim. What a broken but beautiful soul I think my ovaries spontaneously combusted reading about him with Aspen. SWOON
Him and Milah were amazing.
The banter had me smiling, the burn was slow and definitely worth the wait.
Oliver… that sweet boy stole my heart and made the story so much… more? I can’t find the words.
I loved getting glimpses into his mothers struggle throughout the story. It really tugged on my heartstrings.
And that ending? I had watery eyes, it was so sweet
Every book in this series keeps getting better and better! Interpreter is book four but if you’ve read the series from the beginning, then you’ve already met Tim. There are so many amazing characters in this series. I’ll be honest, while I loved all the books, so far Interpreter is my favorite. Tim has had my attention for a long time and I was so impatient for his story. I’m also eager for Vic’s story too.
Kristy Marie has an incredible talent when it comes to putting pen to paper. Her books are angsty, emotional, sexy, and humorous. I truly appreciate the humor in her books because the premises are dark and even sad. Her balance of all the emotions is perfect. The attention to detail and the research that went into this book was so appreciated. I was heartbroken at times. Tim was such an intense hero. He had been through so much and his story is downright heart-rending and distressful. Tim is a strong-minded man. Also, stubborn. When he meets Milah, Tim slowly realizes that he is missing out on life by hiding away.
Milah, was the perfect heroine for Tim. She was beautiful inside and out. She instinctually knew what Tim needed and when. Rarely do you read about a heroine so attuned to her hero. They were soul-mates. Perfect together in every way.
I am so glad I got a front row seat to Tim’s happily-ever-after. It was so worth the agonizing wait! This is a series I highly recommend. Yes, Interpreter can be read as standalone but because of all the interaction with secondary characters, you’ll be eager for their stories. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
I’m sorry for not giving more details about the premise of this book but I feel you would appreciate reading all this perfection on your own.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
Holy Swoonfest
With each additional book, I continue to be amazed by this author and her tenacity to giving each additional story that extra oomph. In every one, she meets the challenge and exceeds my expectations. I wondered how she would take Timaeus and Milah on the journey to finding love. I shouldn’t have even wondered because this author just gave me a serious swoon fest. These two characters were incredible together.
The author did an exceptional job writing about what it was like for Tim not only losing his hearing gradually but also the effects after it is completely gone. As a music lover myself, I cannot imagine a world without sound, and especially sounds that were important, such as laughter or the music that was engrained into someone like Tim’s soul. I felt his anger, sadness, and just overwhelming despair. Milah helped with that. She helped him see that behind his anger that he was still amazing. His deafness did not define him in any way other than to make him a true warrior.
Amazing, love story, amazing side characters that still make me laugh, and an important message that disabilities do not define us. Very good story. I recommend this entire series.
With each book in the Commander in Briefs series it just gets better and better. Interpreter, the fourth book which is Tim’s story definitely brought the emotions and left a lasting impression on my heart. And that heart is scattered within the pages of this book. I’ve been anticipating and wanting his story, and as much as I’ve loved all the previous books, I’m not lying when I say it’s hard to choose a favorite, but this book and Tim ultimately became my favorite.
Tim is a former Marine who lives in a group home for veterans who are trying to get back on their feet. He’s recently lost his hearing and is suffering with depression. He’s mad at the world and doesn’t know how to deal with his recent hearing loss. He’s grumpy and he keeps to himself not wanting to let others in and have them make changes to their lives in order to help him. But with a little push, and the help from the men he considers his brother’s, they help him get a job and that’s where he meets Milah and it’s also the precise time his life starts changing.
Milah was an amazing heroine. She’s feisty, compassionate, considerate, sassy and funny. I adored her so much and loved how she didn’t treat Tim differently. She gave as good as Tim did and didn’t waver in the least.
Milah and Tim clashed right from the start when they first met, but in a good way. There was no denying their explosive chemistry. They develop a genuine connection, and Milah helps Tim come to terms with his deafness. Tim’s journey tugged at my heartstrings and I was rooting so hard for him. Milah without a doubt was Tim’s perfect match, she supported him and challenged him, and most of all loved him when he needed it the most.
Interpreter is a heartwarming, captivating and emotional romance. You’ll smile, laugh, cry, swoon, and most definitely fan yourself. It’s filled with so much heart that it’ll leave you feeling all the feels. I love this book. I love Tim and Milah. I especially love the kids, Aspen and Oliver. And of course, I love this brotherhood and their women who make up this amazing crew. Kristy has done it yet again, just phenomenal.
Definitely Recommend
Another great book from Kristy! I am completely in love with these characters from this series. Not only Tim and Milah, but ALL of them. Theo and Anniston. Cade and Breck. Hayes and Bianca. Aspen. Vic. Mason. Felipe!! Kristy has this indescribable talent of making you fall in love with this whole tribe of family.
Interpreter was such a passionate, flawless story. As we all know, Tim lives with a hearing impairment that is slowly taking the ability to hear away from him. What we also know, is Kristy doesn’t give us perfectly, pressed characters. They aren’t flawless. They have pasts that aren’t pretty. Tim is no different. He has to find a way to push through this difficult time, but he’s not sure if he can.
Until Milah. Oh my goodness. I LOVE MILAH. She is everything we think about when we picture a Latina woman. Feisty. Fiery. Beautiful.. and a bit psychotic. (Nothing against Latinas, you know it’s true.) She. Is. Perfect. I LOVE her back and forth with Tim. The banter they throw at each other is what I love for in a book. Tim is a sassy asshole, but Milah doesn’t that that fly. She gives back as good as she gets.
This story had so many factors that were brought together that made me fall completely in love with these characters all over again. Kristy always slays with her story and Interpreter is no different. I have complete trust in her when it comes to her writing. No matter what she gives us, it is powerful, passionate, and incredible.
I know Kristy struggled a bit with this story because Tim and Milah weren’t speaking to her, but I am so glad she took some time to get their story right. I never want an author to rush for a release and not give us the flawless story they know we want. This story is everything I need and so much more!
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this beautifully written book and it didn’t disappoint. From the first moment I started reading it I was hooked. Their attraction was instant and addictive, their sexual chemistry was off the charts: I absolutely loved how it flowed and how quickly they knew they would make an impact on each other lives. This book was a little different to what I usually read but in the best sort of way. Each character played a major part in their story and I loved it. It was funny and I also had tissues on hand (yes I’m a sook). All I can say is that love conquers all and in the end sometimes we need to open up and allow the people around you to support you. Please please buy this book it is amazing and you will have a massive smile on your face when your done, I did.
5 EMOTIONAL & OVARY EXPLODING STARS!!!
Just when you think that you can’t love this series more than you already do…the author gives us Tim! I smiled, I swooned and I balled like a baby. Tim absolutely stole my heart and exploded my ovaries when it came to his love for Aspen and Oliver!
A veteran, a musical prodigy, a man who feels like he has lost everything, finds his way through with the love of his family and a sassy little spitfire he never expected. He knew he would eventually end up completely deaf, but the reality when it happens is different. Now he needs to find a new normal. It’s not an easy transition for him. But a new job, will open a whole new world for him.
She’s in the country on a temporary visa. She’s a sassy Latina that takes no crap. Milah teaches the fifth grade and has just been assigned a co-teacher. Now she just needs to keep things professional. Tim is going to make things as hard as possible.
The chemistry is SMOKIN’ HOT! These two just sizzle when they are within touching distance. When their attraction culminates it is one of the HOTTEST scenes I have ever read. It’s sexy and incredibly emotional. It’s mind-blowingly emotional.
The author will tug at your heart strings more than once. This was an emotional journey filled with poignant moments that will steal your heart. Grab the tissues!
It’s been days and I am still thinking of Tim and Milah. This is an all-time favorite series and it continues to be one that I look forward to. Each new story gives me more characters to love. It says a great deal about the author and the story’s she creates when I can never get enough and I always come back for more.
I didn’t think Kristy Marie could ever write a story that would make me fall in love with someone more than she made me fall in love with Major Cade Jameson.
I think she just did with Interpreter and I’m not sure if I’m okay!
I absolutely LOVE these Marines and their ladies and Theo and his Commander!
This story is beautiful, touching, feisty, funny, emotional, steamy, and everything else in between! Tim and Milah are EVERYTHING! This story is EVERYTHING!
Thank God Kristy Marie gave us Theo! He keeps it entertaining and makes us laugh right when we need it the most!
As I got further along I started taking my time reading. Not because I was losing interest but because I didn’t want it to end. That’s the worst part of the book – when it’s over!
Everytime I read a CIB novel, it’s as if I’m home. Kristy Marie has this way of making the reader feel like they are part of this group. It’s not like I’m watching everything unfold from the sidelines, I feel like I’m right there with them in the mix.
If you don’t know who Kristy Marie is, you SERIOUSLY need to go and read her Commander in Briefs series. Start with Pitcher and just keep reading. (Thank me later!)
I am having a really hard time writing a review for this book because, how do you put into words the raw and intense emotions that this book invoked? From the hilarious to the heart wrenching, I felt a myriad of emotions while reading Interpreter. I don’t want to talk specifics about the book because I believe it deserves for everyone to read it for themselves, but I will say, it’s this author’s best book yet. It was funny, touching, steamy, and beautiful all at the same time. I loved it with every ounce of my being. Definitely one of the best books of 2019… BY FAR! If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Well done!!!
