Kristy Marie brings all the feels in this heart wrenching, emotional journey of overcoming obstacles, and finding love in the most unexpected places. Blurb:Heartbreakingly beautiful and devastatingly annoying, Timaeus Lambros, a deaf, former military translator, has just been assigned as my co-teacher for the rest of the school year. His stupid-hot face gets on my nerves. So does his well-fitting … the rest of the school year.
His stupid-hot face gets on my nerves.
So does his well-fitting jeans.
Charming and gorgeous men like him should not be teachers. They should be locked away in a storage closet… with me.
But that’s just a teachers’ lounge fantasy with a big dreamy sigh attached.
Tim and I can never be a thing. He’s broody and closed off, while I’m the new owner of a one-way ticket back to Costa Rica, thanks to budget cuts.
But my abuelita always said life wasn’t a fairytale. So even if Tim does have a magical tongue and a dreamy body, we still might not get a happily ever after.
Praise for Interpreter:
Interpreter is a captivating, emotional and swoon-worthy romance with so much heart, and you’ll laugh, cry, smile, blush and probably swoon. Mary, Frolic
A heartwarming, emotional read that will having you laughing your heart out, give you chills and leave you breathless. Jenny, Queen of the Books
The intimacy between Milah and Tim is beautiful in the most pure way possible. I am referring to real all-encompassing intimacy. The way they connect is organic and fluid – they fill each other’s needs without even trying. They were so many scenes that left me in tears or with goosebumps from experiencing this with them. Our Dirty Little Kindles
Interpreter is an incredible and heartfelt read! Kristy Marie delivers an emotional book filled with laugh-out-loud moments, all the angst from a broody hero, witty banter, and so much sass from a strong Latina heroine! Sara N., Goodreads Reviewer
I loved watching the relationship with Milah and Tim develop. It was beautiful to see and very real-life-like. And this book will make you appreciate all 5 senses! Amber, Goodreads Reviewer
I love this crew! Like love them. One of the best cast of characters in a series! Tim was so heartbreakingly swoony. Milah was hilarious. Oliver! I can’t resist a kid. Pure romantic goodness to me soul. Sarah, Musings of the Modern Belle

Holly sh*t! I thought Theo was my favorite character from all the Commander books, but no, Tim is my new bookboyfriend forever.
He’s not only handsome but also intelligent and funny. Despite all the tragedies that happened in his life, he fight to stay sane and alive.
Milah is a beautiful and badass women that knows what she wants. She is beautiful, smart and…crazy . She has a hilarious humor and a heart of gold. She is feisty and has zero patience. Ask Tim, she couldn’t follow instructions if her life depended on it.
You just have to love them. They are so perfect together
Kristy has done it again. She has ones again create a story that made me cry like a baby and laugh aloud, even when I was on the train and everyone looked at me like I’m a lunatic
I love Tim and Milah. They are hilarious and the intern monologues that they seems always to have let you cry from laughing. Their deep connection is so damn beautiful and their story lets you cry like a baby. Don’t think this story is only funny and steamy, it’s definitely is, but that’s not the point . Like all Kristy’s books this story has a very serious topics and one of them is deafness. This book lets you think about this terrible disease in a complete other dimensions.
I don’t know how to describe this book without spoiling it, but it’s definitely a must read for all romantics with HEA lovers.
If you didn’t read Kristy’s books before, you should read the other books in the series too.
They are all unbelievable emotional and heartbreaking, but also hilariously funny.
You would also understand the dynamic of the group better.
I could not put this book down! Kristy Marie has created a wonderful world, and Tim and Milah’s story was absolute perfection. Tim was completely swoon worthy and now my new favorite! Every book just gets better and better! Interpreter is one of my favorite reads this year, and I encourage everyone to pick it up and read it!
“I let Tim’s intent gaze fluster me. He made me feel exposed when I was fully clothed. And when his eyes tracked my lips, watching, reading every movement…. Gretchen just thinks men with babies make the best porn. They don’t. Men who lip-read, who rely on reading your body to communicate, now that’s porn.”
That quote from the book right there should be enough to get you to read this book! Gah. I loved it so much. I loved Tim’s passion and Milah’s sassiness. Add in the camaraderie of the group and I had tears in my eyes at one powerful moment that proves family is who is there by your side, not who shares your DNA. This entire series is amazing and I can’t wait to read more of Kristy Marie’s books!
!
I loved every minute of this book. I ate it up like every other book by this author.
The feels are all there in this one.
Tim. MrBroody. Military man. Delicious. Is slowly going deaf. He has the same genetic condition as his mom. Ended her career as a renowned singer.
Having lost his hearing for good he is having difficulty getting on with life.
Having Dr Parker in his life and as a friend they take the steps necessary to get tim out there. And that’s when he meets the sassy Milah. Instant attraction. They go so well together.
She is such a fireball! I instantly fell in love with her and her little Oliver. What a gorgeous little boy. Going through the same thing as Tim went through with his hearing.
I think this is book 4 in the series Commander in Briefs but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the third of fourth book and I was ok.
I love this author. She is everything I want as a writer of romance. Lots of love. Lots of angst. Lots of tears and KD course lots of crazy sex!
Can’t wait for the other stories of the men in the house to come out. There are a few of them left.
Go get it. You won’t be disappointed!! Maybe it’s time to read the books I’ve missed in between!
Kristy Marie
I can’t even believe it’s been a year since I first met Tim in “Gorgeous” and claimed him for myself.
That infamous scene y’all… wink-wink.
Oh, we have so many of those here and they take on a whole different meaning and depth – aside from being hot as all f-ck, obviously.
I’ve waited and Kristy Marie did not disappoint. Ah, as if that’s even a thing that would happen.
Sure enough, she delivered and gifted us with yet another beautiful, heartfelt storyline that will give you all the feels.
If by any chance you’ve read one of my reviews before, you probably know that I tend to focus more on the feelings, emotions and thoughts conjured by the book than indeed about the characters or the plot.
This case is no different. If anything, this is the one that’ll likely clue you in on why that is. Every single release in this series has been highly anticipated and gushed over once it actually lands on my kindle: every time, it’s like coming home. I officially want to move to Madison, Georgia.
These characters have become such a big and important part of my reading life that I struggle to imagine how I’m going to cope when all these stories are finally told.
All of the ones published so far have a special place in my heart and there’s no such thing as “my favorite”: just like a mother, I love them all equally – with all of their singularities.
Theo and Anniston have a relationship that’s anything but conventional, a story anything but plain and I freaking love them hardcore for it.
Cade and Breck… there’s no way they weren’t born destined to be eachother’s soulmates; that kind of bond is otherworldly.
Hayes and Bianca taught us that you don’t have to be the poster child for whatever “perfect” is supposed to be – you just need to be your best, and everything will fall into place. Maybe sacrifices or choices are required, but what’s that compare with what you can have? You’d probably willingly make them, just like Bianca did.
Tim and Milah are living proof that, no matter how many situations seem unsolvable and unfair, no matter how bad life seems to wanna take you down, you can always choose to stand tall and fight for what you want, face your fears.
By the way, I don’t know if you’re reading this review and considering taking a chance on “Interpreter”, but I’d highly recomend all the previous books as well. You can obviously skip them as this is a standalone and there’s no need for knowledge of previous events, but you won’t regret a single second if you give them a try.
So far, Tim’s story as been the most anticipated one – due to mainly (but not only) – a very specific scene in “Gorgeous” that caught everyone’s attention and kept us all in the edge of our seats.
Well, like I said in the beginning of this review, that scene can now be looked at as being both a sexy demonstration of power – kinky! – or a simple yet beautiful and intimate gesture, a display of a deeper connection.
Kristy Marie is a true rockstar and the little details like these are the reason why her stories are felt so deeply. She has a way of, so effortlessly, breaking you heart and mending it in the same exact paragraph.
How?!
I honestly need to get emotionally ready for each new release because I just know some beautiful yet profound and compelling plot is coming my way.
Oh my God, and Aspen?! What the hell are you trying to do to me? Ovaries non-existent at this point. Geez.
I can’t to see her grow up surrounded by overprotective uncles.
I mentioned Tim’s story being highly anticipated by me and now that it’s here please don’t mind if I do, I’ll just leave this here: Kristy, we’ve talked about this and I got even more anxious and excited so I’ll reinforce that, my next hugely awaited character to get their happily-ever-after… Mr. Kane Kurtzman. I mean… I told you, is growing on me. I swear, your jerks are so freaking appealing.
And Mason? Talk about mystery man!!!
I think I’m gonna leave it here since you’re probably bored and tired of me at this point, so I’ll be going.
TL.DR: definitely give this story a chance and I know you won’t regret it. Grab the tissues. Oh, and maybe some extra underwear might be handy, just on case. It’s my Tim we’re talking about here after all.
Once again Kristy, you’re f–king amazing.
That is all.
Amazing book by Kristy! I was in love from the beginning! I admit I haven’t read the rest of the series but I did not feel lost in this at all. Amazing book and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series now!
Interpreter is a story that will take you on a ride of epic proportions. You will be on sensory overload as Tim is pushed past his comfort zone by a sassy and fiesty Milah. Their story is witty, passionate and at times full of heartache. My heart felt the pain, the love and ultimately the excitement of hope. A story that had me mesmerized right from the start. Another absolutely beautiful addition to this addictive series.
Kristy Marie knocked this one out of the park! Interpreter is her best work yet, hands down, no single question. You can feel her time and dedication to these characters from page one. She poured her heart and soul into this masterpiece and it shows on every page.
I knew Tim was going to be special to me, but I don’t think I could have ever prepared for how much I love him. He is described as broody and closed off but I felt he was just lost – in his own head and the silence that is his life. Watching him find his footing and connect with Milah was nothing short of magical.
The intimacy between Milah and Tim is beautiful in the most pure way possible. I am referring to real all-encompassing intimacy. The way they connect is organic and fluid – they fill each other’s needs without even trying. There were so many scenes that left me in tears or with goosebumps from experiencing this with them.
I could go on and on about the care given to the deaf community, the beautifully described struggles and HILARIOUS new characters but I’ll leave you with this – you know a book is good when it changes your day to day. After reading Interpreter I am so thankful for my sense and the things I get to enjoy while having them. I’m also signing more frequently because I’ve been fluent since childhood, and the whole time, I wanted to hug Tim and tell him you are enough.
Thank you Kristy. I needed Tim in my life, and I didn’t even know it.
The Interpreter by Kristy Marie was an incredible read. I loved the chemistry and story between the H/h and it was full of steam and passion and emotion. It was written in true KM style. Loved it!
5 STARS!!!!
Let me tell you guys, this story it’s so heartbreaking yet so beautiful and special. I’ve been waiting for it since I finished Drifter..Tim, he’s such a kind soul and a beautiful character.
The book is amazing, I mean, I knew and I totally expected this but it was way more than that, I’m speechless! We not only learn more about him but everything he’s going through and the difficulties of his inability to hear and what he feels, that broke my heart in a thousand pieces, and then she appears, Milah, ugh, this girl just like every other female heroine on Kristy’s book, she’s wild, sassy, humble and most of all selfless, she couldn’t have developed a better character than this one..I love her from the very first moment, besides she’s Latina, just like me..and let me tell you it isn’t common that an author talks about a character like this in such a perfect way, she totally nailed it with her, the vocabulary, the expressions, her best friend, I mean Felipe was everything and more and most of all she managed to show us that warm and friendly welcome Latinos have.
The kids!!! I’m still swooning over them, they just melt my heart with every word and show of affection with Tim.
The whole group, Theo, Ans, Cade, and everyone! I just can’t get enough of them and this is why they would always have a special place in my heart. The warmth, protection, and loyalty they show towards another.
This is why this book is a five-star read, and I would definitely give it more if I could.
After reading every one of Kristy Marie’s books, after falling in love with each of her heroes, I was curious as to how Tim would win my heart. I swooned over his silence, I craved his music, and I thirsted after his heart. Tim caused me to cry five tears and therefore his story gets all the stars!!
Timaeus Lambros… child prodigy, double major graduate, honorably discharged soldier, and broken man. Tim had all but given up hope of ever living out his dreams. The one person he could always count on was gone. His passion, his greatest love, fell on deaf ears. Nothing was truly worth it anymore. Or was it? When his newfound family pushes him to get out of his shell, to embrace life again, he’s incredibly reluctant. He puts up barriers, reinforces his walls, and holds everyone at arms length. He can’t get hurt if he doesn’t let you in. However, Milah cared nothing for his boundaries. She swooped in with her caring heart and compassionate soul, obliterating every obstacle he thrust in her way. Theirs was an easy love, one they fell into without even realizing it, making it even more beautiful for its simplicity.
Interpreter reads more like a romcom than anything else because it was funny and charming and sexy and deelish! Kristy Marie created a story full of elements you can’t help but adore. As soon as you were consumed with one person or one part, she threw something or someone else at you to love. Tim obviously owned me in this story, but there were so many other people to gain my favor and worm their way into my heart. I cherished every moment I got to spend with little Oliver, the times I got to witness Tim’s weakness when it came to his sweet niece, and the brotherhood that Anniston established when she brought these men together. I’m so excited to see each of them find their happy and I can’t wait to see who wins next!
Overwhelmed.
That only word pretty much describes how I’m feeling right now. And the past hours after finished my reading.
The first time I read a silent character named Tim in Commander my love was instantaneous. No description was necessary. Like fate, I fell in love with him.
Through the next books, my love became bigger and stronger.
But the day I heard that he would have his own book I knew that my reading life would be complete.
I know I sound a little ridiculous and that I have others fictional lovers but this man was ONE OF A KIND.
I told Kristy that this reading was like End Game to me. Just from the very first page, I just knew that I wanna love it and it would be a lot of crying and swooning and love and all the feelings. And it was.
While writing this it’s inevitable to remember a few things and my eyes watered. All those fights. All those lows and highs. Every character. Every single detail. Everything was perfect. From top to bottom.
But that final almost broke my heart. So much happiness couldn’t be retained. And I felt a little betrayed because I wanted more. Couldn’t stand that it was over.
Now, I just gonna say a few things about some characters or my review just would be a bubbling thing lol
Milah is like her mami and abuelita said. Like a miracle, with her heels and sassyness was able to bring that sparkle to my beloved Tim. Her friends Pe and Marcus just added the right amount of fun.
Oliver, my little boy. With your little hands and eyes full of hope not only brought Tim to his knees but me too. The foster system always has me. Those children need so much love and be able to give it to them even just a little it’s important to them. Be a family even more.
Dr. Parker. You really are a pain in our side. But we love you all the same. Never change.
The troupe, Theo and Anniston. Always supportive. Always caring. Always loving. You all are the best.
And little Aspen. That spoiled princess. How could you not love her? She is the shining sun.
No more words. Or I will not end this.
Perfection. Just that. Perfection.
Dear Heart…. where are You? Oh I see, You have runaway with Tim, and I can’t blame You for that…
Oh wow. ! I’m trying , I’m really trying to find accurate words to describe perfection of this book. I was sure it will be THIS good, because THIS author writting books at the finest. HOWERVER I wasn’t prepared for THIS kind of emotional mess, that I feel right now. I’m speachless… if Tim hasn’t got my heart right now – I’m sure, it would beat faster than the speed of light. I’m in love with this series and I was sure that I will always love Hayes from the Drifter the most… how wrong I was.
Kristy Marie has taken me for another intense ride with Tim and His Girl. From the very first pages I was deeply inside the whole story, which is for sure from this unputtable kind. Autohr knows exactly how she wants to lead Her characters, how to hold her readers in the right plane in line.
Interpreter is wonderfull, and angsty and beautifull, and so so hot ! The chemistry between Tim and Milah is over the charts. They are fighting with each other, they trying to pretend, that they don’t fall for each other… but even if they are strong – they can’t fight with love beacuse it’s the only thing that matter.
I have read and loved every book from this series. Listening to them now just makes it even better, because now I have a voice to go with the characters I love. This is Tim and Milah’s story. Tim is having a hard time accepting he has lost his hearing and Milah is a language teacher who just learned her class has been cut due to budgets and she risks the chance of being deported if she doesn’t find another job. When these two are paired up to work together the sparks fly. This was sweet, funny and heartbreaking. I loved the emotional storyline and the banter between the characters. As always these guys leave me wanting more and can not wait for more from this series. I think Stephanie and Teddy did a great job giving a voice to these characters.
Timaeus Lambros is my favorite kind of book boyfriend – a broody male with a chip on his shoulder. While Tim is a loving “uncle” to baby Aspen, he still has lots of demons that become his shadow. This former piano prodigy turned marine starts off the book by fully losing his hearing. His support system comes up with the idea to get a job so that he can try to integrate himself into the hearing world where he meets his sassy co-teacher Milah Inglesias!!!
Milah is a strong Latina lady!!! While she longs to be an interpreter, her true passion is high heels and giving people a strong side eye. Teaching children foreign languages, she learns that the grant that funds the program is in the process of shutting down and she is afraid of what the future is holding for her…Milah needs to find a new job or she will be deported back to Costa Rica. So the presence of broody, but oh so hot, Tim Lambros in her classroom isn’t something she is looking for.
Tim was such a freaking alpha. Oh Lord, did Teddy Hamilton narrate Tim to the fullest :fans face: The ever growing sexual tension between Tim and Milah was so fun to experience all over again during the audiobook. Milah was perfect for him, and so was the choice to have Stephanie Nemeth-Parker narrate Milah. She stood her ground and didn’t let Tim stay in the background. When you have a stubborn hero, sometimes the best course of action is be just as stubborn lol. Loved the banter and loved that they showed their crazy.
Tim and Milah will give you all the damn feels while burning you up.
4.5
“Your mouth drives me crazy, and I can’t even hear you,” he growls.
.
Review: This is the 5th book (a novella and 4 books) in The Commander in Briefs series. I haven’t gotten to read this series yet, but it has definitely been on my TBR.
.
Milah is a sassy Foreign Language teacher at Bleckley Elementary. She loves helping the kids, but her job is in jeopardy.
.
Timaeus is a broody ex-Marine who has recently lost his hearing due to a genetic condition. He is struggling to accept his new life as he knows it.
.
At the suggestion of his counselor, Tim is forced by his loved ones to get a job to show that he has accepted his new life and is moving on. He hates if anyone knows his situation and doesn’t want anyone to have to change how they communicate just for him. Enter the fiesty Ms. Iglesias from Costa Rica. These two were instantly attracted to each other and Tim loved to get under Milah’s skin making so much sexual tension. My heart broke for Tim. I can’t imagine losing my hearing and missing out on the laughter and voices of my family and friends. These two had such a connection and Milah just knew what Tim needed. Milah helps bring Tim back to life in so many ways and the extra connection with Oliver just warmed my heart. I cried over the last chapter and the Epilogue. It made me just so happy. I loved the bits we got of the other characters from The Commander in Briefs series. I’ve seen them throughout other books and fallen in love with their chosen family. Can’t wait to read their stories. I listened to the audiobook by Teddy Hamilton and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. I’ve listened to Teddy before and enjoy his voice. He does a great job. Stephanie was new for me. She did a Latina accent which really brought Milah to life. It threw me off at first, but I loved it! It was perfect!
The Commander in Briefs series is phenomenal and this it the first one I’ve heard on audiobook. It wasn’t how I heard the characters in my head when I read the book but I still loved hearing the book brought to life. The steamy bits were fire and absolutely perfect. Tim’s deep sexy voice and Mila’s sass was on point! I think Stephanie and Teddy did a great job voicing these characters and doing justice to Kristy Marie’s storytelling. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series on audiobook!
Be still my stone cold heart, this series has taken over my life.
Theo and Ans will always be my top dogs of this series but Milah and Tim stole second place fast and my heart with it.
Tim has been fighting a battle he couldn’t win his whole life. Unfortunately for him and his unwillingness to accept it and try other avenues he became bitter and heartbroken over his loss. I can’t imagine his pain and honestly it hurt to read. But I did not expect the damn bossy dominance that came out of our what seemed quite sweet Tim. Colour me surprise at the term of events.
Milah is a tiny Latino spitfire who can’t seem to keep her temper at bay around moody bossy Tim. I loved her sass and fiercely loving personality hard. I adored her confidence and her sweet attentiveness towards Tim and his discomfort in being who he was. She just had me loving her hard.
Tim and Milah had this push push relationship that tests the limits of both their patience and only serves to fuel an already burning chemistry between them. She just seemed to drag the sass right out of Tim and I was hella entertained at their back and forth bickering and banter. The fire between them is positively explosive but the sweetness? Lord my heart could not take it. The patience and understanding. The moment of raw emotion and love. The bickering, banter and the teasing and pushing . Everything about these two just fit perfectly.
This story brings us all the crazy characters plus some new hilarious faces to add to the tribe. The outrageous shenanigans, the sweet family bonds.. the love between them all. Everything just fit perfectly. Every book hits raw emotional topics but somehow this author seems to perfectly blend the seriousness with witty humor, sweet romance and truly phenomenal characters. Honestly there is nothing to dislike about this book or this series.
I’m honestly devestated it’s finished.
I laughed, I cried, I sighed, I swooned.
For serious, I have no idea how Kristy does it. She just can’t write a book I don’t fall in love with. I laughed, I cried, I sighed, I swooned.
Tim is such a wonderful, kind hearted man with so much emotional depth, you can’t help but fall head over heels for.
Milah is such a natural empath, continuously lowering her shield to show her support.
If you want a book to touch your heart and give you all the feels, do yourself a favorite and read this book. Read all the CIB series books. You will not regret it.
