A great conclusion to what has been a very enjoyable series. I can’t choose which has been my favourite, but Intern Girl is definitely up there.
I loved everything about this book. The storyline, the characters, their chemistry. Most of all I love how the characters fell in love so deeply and so quickly, totally committed to each other.
Some may consider this a taboo romance, due to age difference but to me it really isn’t that much, 9 years.
Could be read alone but don’t, read all three books, it will make them so much more.
Intern Girl is a faced-paced, sweet romance story that started off as business relationship, turned into a short term romantic relationship between Frankie and Porter, but quickly turned into so much more as feelings developed for them both.
There is a bit of taboo laced into this story as Frankie is a bit younger than Porter and he is her boss. She is also the daughter of one of the breweries long time employees. Frankie used to spend time in the brewery when she was younger, but now she is grown up, has finished college and has been hired as an intern because of her artist talent. Porter can’t believe she is the same young girl that used to hang out and help her dad. Just as their relationship really takes off, Porter’s past comes back to possibly ruin their future.
I enjoyed this book and the series. Porter is definitely my favorite of the three! Frankee has had a crush on Porter since she was sixteen and now he is her boss. Porter doesn’t recognize Frankee when she interviews for the intern job but is definitely attracted to her. They last maybe two weeks before they give in to their attraction. They are totally made for each other but their relationship is tested right out of the gate. There is a bit of drama/angst, sizzling chemistry, and a sweet HEA.
Uh oh!!!!! The taboo with this one is strong! I love it! Just when I thought the series couldn’t get much better…. it did! Loved these hard! I know book one is usually the favorite but this one is mine. I hate to see this series end. I loved the connections, humor, tension, and the steam was off the charts. So. Good!
Intern Girl is book 3 in the Southern Girl Series it was previously released as Porter: Men of Love and it’s Porter Beckman and Frankee Dawson’s Story.
Frankee should not be on my radar she should be completely off limits because one she is an employee’s daughter, two she is the girl I once knew as kiddo and three she is my summer intern, only now she is no longer a kid she is a gorgeous fully grown up woman and I can’t get her off my mind…….
When the attraction gets too much to handle for both Porter and Frankee they decide to have a summer fling, what harm will it do after all it’s just for the summer then Frankee’s moving to Texas with her best buddies, well problem is once lines are crossed it’s hard to think straight especially when feelings become involved. Will Porter and Frankee get the HEA they both deserve or will someone from Porter’s past ruin everything…..
I really enjoyed this book, it ticked all my boxes, it was hot. it has adorable characters who share a bond through friendship and it has the perfect mix of angst and humour. Intern Girl was the perfect book to end the Southern Girl Series on, it was a great addition to a great series.
Porter is doing interviews for an internship when Frankie walks in for interview. Frankie remembers Porter but he doesn’t at first. Frankie’s father works there and she’s had a crush since she was 16. Will anything happen or will they be able to keep it professional?
I LOVE THIS SERIES!! Georgia Cates is a go-to author for me and I am so in love with the Southern Girl series. I originally read these as the Lovibond series, and I loved those too! I love the younger woman/older man troupe and this was done so well! Sweet and sexy with just enough angst to keep the story going. I don’t like spoilers in my reviews, so I won’t say what the angst is, but usually that type of storyline in a DNF for me, but I thought Ms. Cates handled it so well! Sorry for the vagueness! Overall this is an amazing story that I could not put down! FIVE STARS!
She was Frankie, the lanky teenager who used to come and help her dad in the warehouse. Porter never gave her a second thought other than she was a great kid helping her father. Now, here she was interviewing for the intern job and he could not believe his eyes this beautiful, sexy and intelligent woman was “Kiddo”.
As far as Frankie was concerned, this Summer internship was heaven because she would be working for the man she had a crush on since she was sixteen years old. He was still gorgeous and heart stopping. What could possibly top this?
This is a wonderfully romantic story. It has all the thrills and chills of an epic romance with the naughty twist of a secret romance. These characters stand out from the page as real, breathing human beings caught in the turmoil of their passion. As in every romantic story, there is a glitch and Oh, boy, what a glitch!! Porter’s past comes to haunt him. A cautionary tale for all the players of the world.
Loved it!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thank you to the author for sharing a copy with me.
5 Star review of Intern Girl (A Southern Girl #3) by Georgia Cates
Previously released as Porter: Men of Lovibond, this is the third book in the series and is Porter Beckman and Frankee Dawson’s story.
Frankee should absolutely be off limits to Porter but there is something about her that draws him to her, despite the fact that she is to young for him and an employee.
When the attraction becomes too much to ignore, lines will be crossed and Porter and Frankee will give in to the sizzling chemistry that has built between them.
This book was steamy and I enjoyed the friendship that they shared. Frankee has been in love with Porter for years and she cannot believe that her dreams have finally come true. What starts out as a fling, soon morphs into so much more.
There was certainly some drama which only added an additional layer to the story line. Porter’s family was great and I really loved his mum Kat.
This was a good book to end the series with, a book that was hot, spicy and entertaining to read.
INTERN GIRL is the third and final installment in Georgia Cates’ contemporary, adult SOUTHERN GIRL erotic, romance series focusing on three friends –Lucas ‘Tap’ Broussard, Oliver ‘Stout’ Thorn, and William ‘Porter ‘ Beckman of Lovibond Brewery. This is Lovibond co-owner Porter Beckman, and graphic designer Frankee Dawson’s story line. INTERN GIRL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: INTERN GIRL is the re-release of the author’s August 2017 novel- PORTER (Lovibond #3)
Told from dual first person points of view (Porter and Frankee) INTERN GIRL follows the forbidden relationship between thirty year old Lovibond co-owner Porter Beckman, and his new intern, daughter of his warehouse manager, twenty one year old graphic designer Frankee Dawson. Five years earlier Frankee Dawson worked as a student sweeping the warehouse and doing odd jobs, but the Frankee that has returned is no longer the gangly teen, but a beautiful woman that has caught the boss’s eye. Applying for the twelve week summer intern position, Frankee comes face to face with the man that has starred in all of her fantasies for close to five years, and the man with whom Frankee will fall in love. What ensues is the building but secret relationship between Frankee and Porter, and the potential fall out when Porter’s past reveals some damaging news.
Frankee Dawson has had a crush on Porter Beckman since the day he hired her father five years earlier. Now a graphic designer, Frankee hopes to impress the boss with more than her artwork, but with her body as well. Porter Beckman knows that to get involved with Frankee Dawson could threaten his relationship with her father, his warehouse manager, but Porter’s attraction to Frankee is palpable; his desire for Frankee grows quickly, and has our story line hero considering a possible future-together. But someone from Porter’s past is making life difficult for our story line couple, and in the end, Frankee must make a decision whether to stay, or move forward without the man that she loves. With the twelve week deadline looming, Frankee thought for sure she new what she wanted but a surprise announcements halts everyone in their tracks.
The relationship between Porter and Frankee is one of immediate attraction; a forbidden romance between boss and intern, but a relationship that is fated for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense. Our heroine was a virgin until Porter Beckman offered Frankee more than a one-night stand.
All of the previous couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Tap and Lawry, Stout and Adelyn, as well as Frankee’s parents, Scott and Tara Dawson; Porter’s parents Kit and Gabe Beckman, as well as Porter’s office manager Molly who sees past their friendly facade, and Frankee’s besties Dillyn and Ava. It was nice catching up with Tap and Stout, with a glimpse into the future for all three series’ couples.
INTERN GIRL is a fun and flirty story line; a sexy and sassy couple whose attraction to one another wars with their sense of right and wrong- a forbidden romance that sees two people find their happily ever after but not before facing sins of the past. The premise is impassioned; the characters are spirited and realistic; the romance is provocative and seductive. INTERN GIRL is a playful and delightful read that will having you asking for more.
