I’m in love with two men. I’m torn and need to choose which man from my past I want as a permanent part of my future. My heart leads me one way as my brain pushes me toward the other. I want them both, but each of them holds a secret that will change everything. Can I overcome the betrayal with a simple intermission, or am I better off alone?
An amazingly unpredictable an unexpected conclusion
I had so many expectations and guesses following book 1. My mindset going in was one of #ohnoshedidnt aimed directly at Lisa Suzanne after the bomb that was dropped at the end of book 1.
To say she had my head spinning and my mind blown with all the truth reveals and the roller coaster of emotions throughout book 2 would be an understatement. She far exceeded my expectations and my previous guesses as to what would happen … well let’s just say I’m so glad Lisa Suzanne is the writer and I am so happy to be the reader!
Like all good carnivals, the roller coaster goes on throughout book 2 only it’s like it slammed to an abrupt stop and is then thrown into high gear in reverse.
Past haunts are real for all the main characters yet through revelations they are able to move forward to their own happily-ever-after even though they may not have realized how it would all play out.
Through roadblocks and roller coaster rides each character has growth revelations and declarations that will stay with me forever!
Intermission (Love Triangle Duet #2) by Lisa Suzanne is a contemporary, friends to lovers, rockstar romance and/or a second chance, sports romance told in first person, multiple POV. The story picks up where the previous book ended and concludes the duet.
Delaney is as confused as ever. Torn between two men vying for her affection, she needs to make a decision soon or she may lose them both. But she doesn’t know about the secrets these men are keeping.
Who will Delaney choose? The pro-football player, Chase, her first love and the one who got away? Or the sexy rockstar, Gavin, her high school best friend who loved her all along? And what will happen when the truth is revealed? Will it sway Delaney’s decision in either direction? Or will it destroy all potential for romance altogether?
I thoroughly enjoyed this! After the cliffhanger in Interception, I was dying to get my hands on Intermission to see how everything would turn out. I couldn’t wait to find out how all the drama would unfold. I had a favorite hero right from the start and although Delaney’s indecisiveness was annoying, I was pleased with her decision in the end. The story was angsty, entertaining, sexy, and fun!
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
Intermission is the second part of the ‘Love Triangle’ duet. You need to read Interception first before starting this one as IT IS NOT A STAND ALONE.
This was a fast read, it had its moments where my frustration with the characters nearly got the best of me, but I battled through because I HAD to know what happened next and more importantly, how it ended. By now you will be in one camp or the other. Gavin’s or Chase’s. But, Delaney? She doesn’t know. Hence my frustration. I wanted her to settle on my choice, obviously. LOL. But, both these guys are hiding important information from Delaney and when she discovers the truth, then it’s all up in the air. She can’t trust either of them, so how can she pick one?
Still, someone has to win. I’m not gonna spoil the story by telling you, though. You’ll just have to read it for yourself. Be prepared for some twists you won’t see coming. You’ll even feel bad for the loser. Maybe he’ll get his own HEA in another book?
So, grab your copy today and enjoy the race.

“We miss a lot when our eyes are closed.”
Oh I was so excited to continue this love triangle after reading the first book. But somehow I came up a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed reading it and loved that Delaney ended up with the guy I rooted for. However some things were missing…
“This right here in his arms… this feels like family.”
As I don’t want to spoil things for you it’s hard for me to write the review without giving to much away. But what I can tell you is that the rockstar was unbelievable gorgeous with the patience of a Mother Theresa. Delaney was a very frustrating character, who even after making her decision still seem to question if it was the right one. Chase was a total nutcase and it was hard for me to believe he really fell back in love with his high school sweetheart.
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
Intermission gives us a sweet ending to this love triangle duet that will melt your heart.
Rate: 4 / 5 stars
I will keep this one short so I don’t spoil anything. First and foremost, I’m quite happy with how things went. Lisa surprised with some of the events in this book and I thoroughly enjoy that. She was not only able to surprise me, she made me feel bad for the other guy, the one who didn’t get the girl and she sort of redeemed him for me which is something that she can do like no other – redeem a character and make me go from hating him to loving him to bits. That didn’t quite happen here but I am hoping he gets his own book and I can finish falling in love with him and watch him fall in love with the right girl for him.
I got say that Delaney was still frustrating and even after making a choice, she didn’t know what to do and that kind of pissed me off. She was still too attached to the past and that ended up clouding her judgement when it came to certain things. Also and just a quick note, gosh her parents were horrible and I’m glad she distanced herself from that toxic relationship.
When it came to Delaney’s bff and Liam I’m sad to see their little fling ending but I hope she can find someone who will love her and not leave her behind. Gavin continued to make me swoon and fall madly in love with him, gosh my heart hurt for him when he had to watch Delaney and Chase and he thought that once again he would have to let her go. Gosh, his love for her was so transparent and so deep… I love him. Again, Mark showing up and being the best kind of mentor/ friend. He is amazing.
Intermission is the second book in the Love Triangle duet and it is full of surprises and an unveiling of secrets that turn worlds upside down. It is romantic and angsty and full of music and heat and what is better than that?! I thoroughly enjoyed this conclusion to Delaney and her man’s story and I’m truly hoping the other guy gets his own HEA in the future too.
This is the heart-stopping conclusion to the Love Triangle Duet, Delaney, Chase, and Gavin’s story. Just as the first installment, this one was riddled with emotion, passion, and indecision that left me dying of anticipation. The words were so addictive, once I got started I could not put my tablet down, I HAD to know how it would all end, which lead me on a all night journey… one that was well worth the lost minutes of sleep! Highly recommend!
I was reading reviews on this book before I read it and I thought that it was perfect what The Book Fairy Reviews said.
“This is a second chance romance with a twist.”
So true!!
Delaney Lockwood is caught between two men that mean a lot to her. If she picks one man, she disappoints the other and viscera. What is Delaney going to do?!?!
Interception (Love Triangle Duet #1) by Lisa Suzanne is a duet. Although I had the ARC for Interception, I knew that it would end with a cliffhanger. If you have read my reviews before, then you know that I HATE cliffhangers without having the next book. So, I patiently waited for Intermission (Love Triangle Duet #2) to come to me via ARC. I am so glad that I did that (even though the PR company was probably mad at me…)
#SorryNotSorry
By waiting, I got the full picture of the story. I binge read it in one weekend. Delaney’s story took me on an emotional rollercoaster between Chase Camden & Gavin Brooks. By the way, I was team Gavin the whole way!!
The two men mad it hard for Delaney. But in the end, she got her HEA. I am not going to tell you more than that. But I will tell you that I think that she picked the right guy.
This was my first Lisa Suzanne book. I found her writing engaging and kept interested throughout the entire duet. As I said before, I read it over one weekend. I didn’t want to put it down. She kept my attention throughout the book. I can’t wait to read her other work and see what else she has in store for us. I am so glad that I took a chance on her writing. I am so a fan now!!

Love the conclusion to this story. So glad that everything worked out as it should. Even though it took Laney a while to decide, it was worth it in the end. A perfect ending!!
This is the conclusion of Delaney, Chase and Gavin’s story that started in Interception (which ended in a cliffhanger). The story picks up with more angst, more drama. Since this is spoiler free, I’ll only say i was satisfied with how the book ended. Delaney made the right choice. However I just wanted to reach in and give her s shake, her indecisiveness nearly drove me daft, The book was well written and enjoyable to read. I wouldn’t mind reading a story featuring some of the supporting characters from the series.
In this second part of this love triangle, we follow Delaney’s difficult decision as to who she should have her happily ever after with.
Gavin continues to do his best to show her that he supports her and is willing to wait until she decides.
While Chase will have to deal with the consequences of his actions towards Delaney and around the country.
At the same time, Delaney uncovers some secrets about her family that will definitely affect her relationship with them and the decision she must make about her own life.
I loved the conclusion of this wonderful story, the characters are really very interesting. I highly recommend the reading.
Love and enjoyed how this story played out. Needless to say the real winner of her heart is one that has proven himself time and time again but Delaney needed some time to really see what she wants and figure out what has always been right in front of her.
Do not get me wrong…the journey to each other came with some obstacles and some truths to be revealed that cannot be taken lightly. However, will these things that come to light be something that will affect what Delaney wants? How much more time will Chase and Gavin have to wait on her decision? She faces the paparazzi when her name continues to be mentioned in celebrity gossip making her seem like she is playing two guys at once.
To add to the mix…her decisions will have her rethinking on what she wants to do with her career. To stay, to leave, or to move?
Intermission is book two in the Love Triangle Duet. It can not be read as a standalone, you must read Interception first. This one picks up where the first one left off. Delaney is still torn between Chase and Gavin. I like love triangle books but lots of times when I read them I wish the girl could just end up with both the guys, that was not the case in this one. Right from early on in book one, I picked the guy I wanted Delaney to pick. I have to admit that when I started this one, I wanted to flip to the back and see who see picked because I didn’t want to read it if she didn’t pick who I wanted her to pick. I didn’t flip to the back because I decided that who ever she was suppose to be with the story line would make me want her to be with that one. I won’t tell you if it turned out the way I wanted, you’ll just have to read it and see who she picked. It’s nicely written and I felt for Delaney having to figure out who was perfect for her.
Perfect ending for this awesome duet.
Intermission continues the story of Delaney, Gavin and Chase from Interception. Delaney continues to be undecided in who she wants to be with. That is until she opens her eyes to what’s been in front of her the whole time.
In Interception, Delaney has to figure out which man from her past she wants to be with. Her indecisiveness has both Gavin and Chase vying for her heart while giving her the patience she has asked for. Secrets unfold as their story progresses.
Lisa has written a story that spans fourteen years even though it’s written in the present. The complexity of her characters is a roller coaster of emotions that ends with a decision and a HEA. I highly recommend this 5 star rock star meets sports romance duet. Interception must be read before reading Intermission. I voluntarily read and reviewed Intermission in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked how this book made me feel. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride even though it made me mad at times.
This duet was such an amazing story that I couldn’t bring myself to finishing it, but trust me once I finished it, I was so happy. Anybody who reads this duet with fall in love with Lisa’s work. It was amazing from start to finish and I highly recommend it to anyone. Lisa wrote such a spectacular story that I won’t be forgetting it anytime soon. I received this book from the author and reviewed voluntarily.
This is the second half of the duet, so if you didn’t start with Interception stop, and read that first!
Things are left up in the air at the end of Interception for Delaney, Gavin and Chase, and even though you can feel where the story is leaning, it takes a minute to be sure that’s where everything is going to fall.
I’d love to feel a little bad for Chase all things said and done, but really I don’t and can’t. Delaney needs a good shake here and there, but I feel like she finally gets herself together in a good way! Gavin… oh Gavin. You’re just the swooniest. Rose and Liam… I hope they get their chance because I’d like to see where that’s headed.
If you like this trope, recommend all day long!
First off, this is the conclusion to a duet story, so if you have not read book one, you should go back and do so. When I picked up this book I could not wait to see who won Delaney’s heart, Chase or Gavin or maybe….both? This book has a story line that really brings the characters to light but also throws them into the darkness. It is a real back and forth. No one ever wants to chose, at two, you have a 50/50 shot at the best one but what if you still choose wrong! AGH! I felt that I was right alongside Delaney and trying to decide how to choose between Chase and Gavin. You will see this story shift though and wonder if the author is giving a hint at what is to happen. Take the hint and ride out the rest of the HEA story that is in store for Delaney. Enjoy!
I received a free copy of this book to read and enjoy. I am voluntarily writing my review.
Intermission picks up right where Interception dropped off so make sure you read Interception first! Intermission definitely had a few twists and turns. One part of the storyline definitely had me thinking I knew what happened and I was right on with it but Lisa wrote it so well!
Delaney spent part of this book stuck in the love triangle between Gavin and Chase. I feel like she knows the way to go but owes it to herself to feel out both men and their feelings for her. I don’t want to spoil the ending but I was very satisfied with how this ended. Bravo to Lisa for another great rockstar duet!
Intriguing Reading
The second part of this story was just as engaging as the first book of this duet. I must admit that I thought the rock star main male character had the patience of Job regarding the main female character’s snail-pace decision-making. The football main male character let his true colours shine through at the end of the first book. Manipulative much?? He had his work cut out for him with not only the main female character’s snail-pace decision-making process but he also faced corporate betrayal and lastly, there were family health issues he was dealing with. Unfortunately he ended up paying a hefty personal price for his actions. The main female character also had major family issues and a disheartening lack of support from her parents. The rock star main male character stayed his path and never waivered in his beliefs.
This was an intriguing read, exposing corporate thievery and showing no remorse for actions, then, in fact, blaming others for their woes. The dynamic that Ms. Suzanne set up between the three main characters certainly kept this reader intrigued with “what next?”.
Great reading!
I was relieved that Delaney found her happy ending. Not going to spoil who she picks, but my heart was happy. I’m hoping Rose gets her own story because I would love to read it. I do wish there was a little more of Delaney’s past story but all in all this was an enjoyable read.
