I’m in love with two men. I’m torn and need to choose which man from my past I want as a permanent part of my future. My heart leads me one way as my brain pushes me toward the other. I want them both, but each of them holds a secret that will change everything. Can I overcome the betrayal with a simple intermission, or am I better off alone?
Intermission is book two in the Love Triangle Duet so you must read the first book to understand this story. It picks up right where Interception left off. Laney is still torn on which man to select, Chase or Gavin. Both are trying to win her over, but both are hiding a secret. Whose secret will be the deciding factor is the question? Does she Intercept her heart and go with her past (Chase) or does she continue from the Intermission and go with what was in front of her all these years (Gavin)? So not telling! But…who she does end up with is who I was hoping for.
Lisa has struck yet again! There is not a book she writes that does not hook you, has you smiling yet wanting to smack someone and has your heart in a tight grip hoping it is heading where you want it to go. She writes torn romances that leave you happy but torn for the non-chosen one. Which just means we hope that she will write their story, haha! Love the little snippets that we got to see on the Ashmark family! While I was hoping that Liam would smarten up (Gavin’s friend and bandmate) let’s hope we see him fall over the rainbow Beyond the Gold. Hehe There is not a story by this author that I would not recommend they are all awesome. Not a fan of love triangles, that’s okay too but I bet Lisa can make you fall in love with these stories that you thought were wrong. She writes some of the best Love Triangles.
Gah! I’ve read every one of Lisa Suzanne’s books, and I’ve loved them all. I have yet to read one of her books where I did not get completely wrapped up in her writing and the story. She writes truly captivating stories. The ones that I simply don’t want to put down, and that I’m still thinking about long after I do. Intermission had the same effect on me. Although frustrating at times, it was sweet, sexy and absolutely addicting!
This one picks up right where Interception left off with Laney still undecided on who she wants to be with. But when a betrayal is brought to light, she runs from one man, straight into the arms of the other. Until she finds out that he is keeping a secret as well, causing her to run from them both. Gavin and Chase both try to win back her love, but when all is said and done, her heart only beats for one. Will it be the football star or the rock star? Pick up this book and get to reading in order to find out.
Intermission was exactly what I hope for when I pick up a novel by Lisa Suzanne. I adored these characters. I loved their story. This book definitely ticked off all my boxes for the perfect romance. I smiled and swooned from page to page, hoping right along with Laney and “the one” for the chance to see this romance blossom. This wonderfully written tale gets 5 sweet & sexy stars from me!
The ending on book one left me stomped and reeling… I was like, nnnooo!
I was bracing up for book two… I waited in dire anticipation for this one—dire anticipation!
I was also engulfed in anxiety… like will she end up with the football superstar or with the rockstar… or will there be more twists and turns waiting for me as I turn the pages… those things… I’m an anxious reader especially if I’m really invested in the story.
Man oh man. It’s been a while since I wanted to slap a book character upside-down. Truthfully, I don’t think being in Delaney’s shoes is easy… but if you were in the guys shoes, it’s not a walk in the park either… I don’t think I could take it if the girl I’m love with spends time with another guy—especially with a guy who has romantic inclinations with her in the first place and especially if they have a romantic past… Love triangles are bloody messy. It’s a tight and difficult position to be in one. Love is definitely a battlefield.
I’m glad she ended up with the right guy—the best guy. I’m not naming names but I just have to say that from the outset I was already rooting for him. You could feel the genuineness of his feelings. At one point I even felt that Delaney is undeserving of him…
I can’t wait for ya’ll to read the conclusion of this riveting love story! Definitely a must-read!
The Right Choice!!
After reading Interception and having my mouth hanging open at the end of it I sure couldn’t wait for Intermission to come out. Yes, I had a favorite in the first book and by the second book it just solidified my pick. There was much indecision on Delaney’s part that I wanted to shake her. Secrets and lies almost brought it all to an end with no one winning Delaney’s heart but in the end it worked out as it should have.
What a whirlwind! I’m so glad for the HEA I wanted. I enjoyed these characters & having old favorites show up, too.
Finally the conclusion we have all been waiting for. Not gonna lie i really wanted to throw my ereader across the room a few times. Or jump in a give Delaney a smack on the back of her head. But holy what an ending that was, so worth the wait, I would hate to spoil anything so that’s my review, of course you guys will absolutely love it!
Intermission is the second half in the Love Triangle Duet. It picks up right where it left off in Interception. Delaney has two men fighting for her. Will she be able to choose one? She has best friend, rocker Gavin and ex boyfriend NFLer Chase vying for her. What if she makes the wrong decision? This story is so good, and the twists and turn will keep you guessing till the end. I kept going back and forth between them, but in the end I’m happy with who she choose.
Dee’s Shy, Loyal Former High School Best Friend Gavin Brooks Turns Sexy, Confident Rocker & Battles Bronco’s Wide Receiver Ex-Boyfriend Chase Camden For Her Heart!
Delaney Lockwood, twenty-eight, is torn between two loves. She once thought her high school boyfriend was the love of her life, but Chase Camden ripped apart her dreams when he broke up with her out of the blue just days before leaving for college. When she sees her high school best friend and old neighbor Gavin Brooks at their ten year high school reunion, something between them has shifted. Yes, he knows how to work his microphone and looks incredible on stage as the lead singer of the popular rock band Beyond Gold, but he is still her old friend, and when they speak it is as if not a day has gone by. With one exception. There is undeniable electricity between them, something she hadn’t noticed back in high school.
After ten years of radio silence, both Chase and Gavin want Delaney. But Delaney needs time to assess her options – a lot can change in ten years. Delaney suffers from a nearly crippling case of indecision which tests not only the men, but also the reader! Every time she appears to draw a conclusion, she wavers yet again. It makes her look dense and inconsiderate of both Chase and Gavin. Once Delaney finally makes up her mind about who she wants in her future, her indecision transfers to questions of where to live, etc. It becomes tedious.
Although some of the indicision is necessary, certainly some of it could have been eliminated. Tightening up the second book as well as the tail end of the first book might have had a favorable result (it could have been a single longer book).
The happy couple is easy to fall in love with. They battle it out and withstand an incredible test of time. There are tear-jerking testaments to their love in both books of the duet. Theirs is an emotional love story that will have you celebrating their HEA!
This is the second book in the Love Triangle duet. The first ends with a cliffhanger. Please reference my review for the first book, “Interception,” for a detailed review.
The sequel begins with a sequence of four scenes from the past, most of which were referenced throughout the first book. While not necessary, they do help put together the pieces from the past and provide the backstory for the duet in one easy-to-reference location. The reader gets to see Delaney observe both Chase and Gavin for the first time, fourteen years ago, right before beginning high school. Additionally, the events surrounding her breakup and her family’s demise tens years earlier are highlighted. Chapter five returns to represent day and picks up with Delaney in Denver the morning after the first book left off.
This book is nicely written. The plot is not as complex as the first book of the duet, as much if it revolves around Delaney making up her mind about something or other. This ties up loose ends. Social status aside, there is a realistic feel to the story. Not everyone has a happy ending.
The characters are well-developed and intriguing. Gavin’s public versus private personas really help bring him to life. His charisma burns up the page! Chase has real problems, but at the same time so much potential. Is there a spin-off coming? Delaney suffers from humiliation and lack of self-confidence, but also has strength. She would have been more likable, however, if she were capable of decision making. Although minor characters, Liam and Rose are also intriguing. Rose had a smaller role in this book, and it felt like she and Delaney were drifting, unfortunately, because Rose had been Delaney’s rock for ten years. It would be great to see a story in which Rose’s friendship with Delaney is portrayed in the future as happy and healthy. I rate this book 4 stars.
NOTE: DO NOT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD THE FREE BONUS EPILOGUE AVAILABLE AT THE END OF THE BOOK! It is very short, but nicely wraps up some loose ends and closes the story with a very nice HEA.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Twisty Triangle
Intermission added some extra drama and angsty feelings to this, the emotional conclusion of The Love Triangle Duet.
I loved where Interception (these clever titles) ended and how it left you wanting more. I was excited to see the outcome and thank goodness the wait was short and the story was so worth it.
Delaney (Laney, Dee) had her hearts work cut out for her as she wavers back and forth between her feelings of love for these two men from her past. One disappointed her, broke her and came back with hopeful open arms. Should she give him another chance or keep the past where it might belong…
The other, a best friend who wanted more after loving her from afar forever, finally asking for the chance he never had, to love her right now.
What’s a girl to do? Well, drive this reader alittle crazy! I wanted her to see the light..the right course of action before it was too late. Choose, Delaney, pick _____! Did she do that???
You’ll have to read this one to find out because getting to the end may have stopped my heart a few times, while saying no, no,no, but in my mind, wondering, waiting and anticipating was what made this story sooo good. I wasn’t afraid of the triangle because I hoped so much for Delaney to chose who I would. Did she take that leap of faith? The answer was right there to see. Such a great ending!
These were the 1st books by Lisa Suzanne that I’ve read but since I’m liking her style, I’ll be seeing what else she has in her collection of stories…new fan here!
So happy to receive the gifted ARC, glad to leave my honest review of these stories.
Awhhhh, swoon! Reading and finishing Intermission by Lisa Suzanne left me on such a high note. Although I had issues with Delaney’s indecisiveness in book one, Interception, I loved how it all played out in book two, Intermission. “It’s so strange how much I see now that I was blinded to before.”
Throughout the book as ‘things’ were revealed, I kept worrying that Lisa Suzanne was going to open another old door and more skeletons were going to fall out. Intermission kept me wanting to read and turn the pages as fast as I could to find out what was going to happen next. In my heart I knew what I wanted and I wasn’t disappointed. “I loved you before that moment, during that moment, and every moment since.”
FLOVED this series!
A satisfying conclusion to our intense love triangle. Chase starts to let his true colors show and Gavin retreats to give Delaney her space….like he always does. All three need to decide to fight for what they want and decisions need to be made. Will Laney choose her one time only true love? Or will she decide that the man who has loved her all along is who she should be with? Or will she decide to choose herself and let both men walk out of her life? You will need to read it and see.
I could not wait to know the outcome of this amazing triangle! Lisa Suzanne did not disappoint. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster she put me through tho! I felt like I was watching a tennis match. Back and forth, back and forth. One minute I wanted to throttle Delaney, the next I wanted to hug her. I wasn’t prepared to like Chase and I wasn’t prepared to want to shake Gavin! I was riveted from the beginning and I absolutely loved it. Now let’s see if the loser will get his happily ever after???
After reading Interception, I could not wait for Intermission to come out. The cliffhanger at the end was killing me. Intermission did not disappoint. I’m so happy with the way the story unfolded. I won’t add any spoilers, but there were a couple of twists that made me a little nervous. Luckily we got our HEA.
I have no idea where to start with this review except that once again Lisa Suzanne has written an awesome story that will take you on one wild and emotional ride! Delaney has a tough choice to make, deciding between a rock star and a football player, lucky her! Lol There were so many moments I wanted to scream at her or toss my kindle so she would OPEN her eyes and see what was in front of her!! She was definitely frustrating at times, but as things progressed she finally starting thinking with her heart. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down and pretty much picked my team from the beginning, although the other team showed potential!! As more and more layers unfolded it was hard to say where this book was going, but like I said earlier Lisa Suzanne didnt disappoint!! I’m sad its over and i really hope we get more books from this world!!
Wow after that unbelievable cliffy at the end of Interception Book #1, Intermission starts off giving us a little more background for Delaney, Chase and Gavin. As Delaney struggles with making her choice, we have info based on the cliffy, secrets still have yet to be revealed, angst continues to build, the swoon factor builds on both sides from Chase and Gavin and my Kindle could barely contain itself. But fortunately Mark Ashton makes an appearance and all is right with the world lol. But seriously I do love that man!!!! Ok back to the love triangle. I love how Lisa Suzanne did not make this easy even though it could have been with that cliffy! It still remained complex. Delaney is the type to need all of the answers to make her decisions. Once she realized it she knew without a shadow of a doubt. I was team #HEA from the beginning and loved the epilogue and extended epilogue so much. You will love this duet and easily one click!!!!!
I have been on Team Gavin from the Get Go! Then we start Intermission and I am GAH!!! Who will Delaney choose. Chase is starting to look good.
Intermission is the next breath that you will take after reading Interception (book one). You finally let the tension go until the build up comes all over again! Lisa will have you on your toes until the very end. The Rock Star vs the Football Star! I have always had a soft spot for Lisa’s rock stars and when Mark Ashton makes a couple of appearances, the swoons will just not stop! I love this story whole heartily.
The end will make you smile and giddy! The steamy hot scenes will have you sweatin’. I am now wondering if there will be a book for the guy that was not chosen. I feel like some redemption is going to be needed! What do you all think ladies? You do not want to miss out on this anticipated Love Triangle Duet!!! Your world will stop while you are suck in this story!
WOWWWWW! If you are cliffhanger junkie, you’ll love this.
I can honestly say that I didn’t really see that coming.
So, I have some mixed feelings about the first part of this story, but I am having a hard time explaining them. I felt like the beginning and the end really kept flowing…. but some of the middle was a bit repetitive/slow. It was sort of necessary though as you have to be able to see Delaney’s struggle. Having read Lisa’s stories before, I was confident that I would enjoy it and I did. And I’m very much looking forward to Intermission
YES! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THIS BOOK! <3
We get to see Delaney make her choice between her young-adult boyfriend, Chase Camden, or her best friend Gavin Brooks. Chase has been trying his best to woo her by bringing up some cute tricks and recreating memories from the past, but Gavin is showing Delaney that there is a future for them, and that his love for her has been burning bright since they were both fourteen.
Who will Delaney choose?
This book has all the romance, the sweetness, the rock-star vibes, the devilishly-debonair jock, and a girl fighting to make the right choice for her heart...and for herself.
THIS. WAS. INCREDIBLE! <3
Wow – I have never read a book where I actually wanted to hit the heroine in the head time and time again with every turn of the page until I met Delaney. Caught between the love of a rock star and the love of a football great – this girl has a hard choice to make. Her lack of decision making makes each and every chapter an emotional overload. In one chapter you want her to choose Team Gavin, in the next you want Team Chase. In the end she FINALLY decides to follow her heart and not her past. Another wonderful read from Lisa Suzanne. Filled with a beautiful storyline and characters you cannot help but love (or hate) this will once again be a series that I will re-read time and time again.
