One night. That’s all Julian Caine offered. And heartbreak is my only souvenir. The morning after the most unforgettable night of my life,I wake up minus the man and plus one note. With my head held high, I’m determined to move on without the two men who broke my heart. My former fiancé who let me go easily without so much as a glance. And the staggering, gorgeous Englishman who made me scream … Englishman who made me scream incoherent words…
All. Night. Long.
When tragic circumstances bring Julian closer than ever, it comes with unyielding passion and
a new proposal… but not the traditional kind, the no-strings attached kind.
Tensions flare.
Life-changing truths are revealed.
New sexual adventures are explored.
But the question remains, will we ever be more than … more than this Interlude?
Interlude is Book Two in the Interlude Duet.

It wasn’t meant to be an Interlude
I previously read Prelude by this talented author, and although I wanted to scream, cry, punch something lol and keep loving the book even with the cliffhanger, I knew the best was coming.
As always, I’m not gonna spill the beans about the story. If I do that, I will ruin the book for you guys, but to be honest I loved this one even more than the last one. Why? Well, I consider that, this time, this amazing author captured in a delicate and profound way, the characters emotions; why they do what they do, why they feel what they feel and why some secrets are better to keep hidden.
If you plan to read an immediate HEA, this book is not for you.
The journey won’t be easy. You will suffer, you will laugh and at the end, you will cry, a lot. Because nothing is better than the sweet pain a good book like this, can give to the readers. And I’m really pleased with Auden’s work. She nailed it, in a way that not all authors can do.
So guys, I really recommend this duet. I can assure you all, none of you, will regret it.
I loved the second and final book in this series. It was an emotional roller coaster at times. Lina discovers the truth about Julian, and aspects of his past. She struggles with trust for a long time. Convinced that he will eventually grow tired of her and set her free, breaking her heart. She doesn’t seem to believe that he might love her too, and clearly misses the signs for a long time about his true feelings. The passion and emotion is strong. It’s sexy and intense. Towards the end, I thought I was going to strangle her. Then the ending was exciting because it looks like Lina’s ex love might get his own story. This author was new to me and I thoroughly enjoyed her Interlude duet.
Fanfreakingtastic! Can’t rave enough. Raw, emotional, steamy and hea all wrapped up in a class act.
A 6 plus star rating for Interlude
I have not ever laughed and cried and cheered on characters in a story as much as I did with Interlude; the second book in Auden Dar’s Duet of Prelude is Interlude. Since I have already reviewed Prelude let me tell you about Interlude. I didn’t think at first that Auden Dar could top Prelude but she blew me away with the sequel of Interlude.
Lina is caught in her feelings about her relationship with Jilian and Andrew; which are both of her childhood friends. She is engaged to Andrew and she makes a choice and now that has she is now second guessing herself. As she is swept away with Jilian and blown away with his suaveness and her appetite to find true love; she finds herself worried that she is only being used; but is she? Sure, she wants a forever love and children; she finds herself feeling betrayed with both men. How is she going to rectify her feelings and receive what she desperately wants and needs to find fulfillment and purpose in her life?
We get to meet her Grandmother in Interlude and what a character she is. I fell in love with her. I love how she provides solid advice to Lina to the secret of finding true love is to follow her heart; but will Lina adhere to Grandma’s advice?
Interlude had me biting my nails and speaking out loud to the characters as if I was part of the story. In the end, I was bawling my eyes out and totally blown away at how it all ended, and I can’t say enough awesome things about this novel; I just don’t want to give it all away to you. So, you will have to knuckle down and read both Prelude and Interlude. I know even though Prelude was gifted to me by the Author Auden Dar; I bought Interlude because I had to find out what is going to happen, and I am so glad I did. A person finding themselves reading these two awesome novels will not be disappointed. I rate this book a 6 plus star rating which means I rate this duet a must read and should be on your TBR to read as soon as possible and tell your friends as they are going to want to join you in a book discussion about Lina, Jilian and Andrew and all the other characters in the duet novels. Upping the ante that true forever love is obtainable and real.
Interlude…This story continues with Lina moving forward, taking a risk with her heart with the elusive and secretive Julian Caine. The proposition continues leaving her fulfilling her desires and questioning everything. As the story unfolds and secrets are told.. you get put on an emotional rollercoaster. I was pulled in by my heart strings. It gave you all the feels from love, lost, compassion, empathy, sorrow, desire, and longing. I was emotionally captured and gutted. It was everything I wasn’t expecting and more. Definitely worth reading!!
The angst and turmoil is real!!! This book is the perfect example of why communication is so important! So many of the problems that were had in this story could have been avoided if only the parties would have communicated better. But where would the fun in that be? Then we would have nothing to read about! I went through so many feeling while reading this book. I yelled at my kindle a time or 2. I laughed! I wanted to throw things…. I felt my heart break so many times, and not just for Lina! My heart broke for Julian ….. and it even cracked a bit for Andrew (which was totally unexpected!) I am really glad that I FINALLY got to read this duet. It was everything I love to get out of a book…. and it even made me cry a bit. The epilogue was probably the most beautiful ending to a book that I have ever read! (I wont give it away…. but let’s just say that it was not what I was expecting at all and I think Auden is a genius for coming up with it!) Y’all should go get these books now….and read them. Don’t have them sit on your kindle for a year before you get to them. They deserve to be read, loved and adored!
Okay so first off you MUST read book 1 – Prelude first before reading this book. Definitely not a standalone.
Wow!!! The author has absolutely nailed it with the conclusion to this story. I was up reading til 2.30am as I had to know the outcome for these characters. This is only her second book and the writing is clear, powerful and really emotional. I felt like I was on a roller coaster from the opening chapter. This book has got it all –
Angsty/emotional storyline
Characters you connect with
Beautiful imagery and dialogue
Crazy hot sexy times that might melt your kindle
Plot twists that had me shouting OH MY GOD!!!
Awesome supporting characters
and
One of my favourite epilogues of all time
I loved everything about this story and was so happy with the conclusion to this duet. I cannot recommend it enough. Looking forward to lots more words from this new author.
4.25 stars!
I love stories where its clear to the reader that two people should be together, but they keep “missing each other” through circumstances or miscommunication. That’s a theme that carries throughout The Interlude Duet (which I read quickly, back-to-back.) Add that with the fact that the main characters are childhood friends, and you’ll be rooting for them to get together the whole time. A fun, sexy read from start to finish!
Small reminder “Interlude” is book two and it’s definitely not a standalone. You need to read “Prelude” first. But believe you will thank me later for this and Auden Dar (the author) too 🙂
From my „Prelude” review you may know how much I felt in love in Julian’s and Lina’s story. And I was so lucky that as soon as I finished book one I was able to read Arc for book two. And oh my how can I say in short without revealing anything important: prepare yourself for rollercoaster of hot, wild sexiness, all sorts of feels and yes you will have huge “What??? Noooo!!!” moments. Believe you will.
So now off to the story. “Interlude” picks where Prelude left off. After spending amazing birthday and night with Julian Lina wakes up alone in Julian’s bed who left leaving only one short note… So once again she has broken heart and as she always do she leaves Julian’s apartment and spends next few days trying to analyze every single detail to find what went wrong. I thing whole blaming may be caused by Lina’s lack of confidence and living in her relationship with Andrew, and here I mean last few years when she was, don’t afraid to use that word neglected. And so now Lina’s head is her biggest enemy and that’s why she isn’t able to see what lays in front of her. But due to family troubles Lina and Julian meet again that brings them together and Julian has once again another proposition for Lina and that’s one that she doesn’t want to refuse. One month of being together and after that they will go back to their lives.
And omg how much I love Roger here. He is that one friend that every person should have in their lives. Carrying but one that will boost you up and help you get up and go on with your life even after biggest drama there may be in your life. Same as for Patti. Such friends are real treasures.
There is no denying Julian’s feels for Lina but because she has been so neglected in previous relationship she often doesn’t believe that may be true and she is almost blind for what lies in front of her.
So what will happen after month will be over? Do Lina an Julian have chance for real relationship that will heal them? And what will happen when the secrets that were kept for all life will go out? And what part has Andrew in that story?
To find answer for this questions and more you need to read “Interlude” and believe me it’s totally worth it.
This book was perfect ending for the Interlude Duet, it was that beautiful cherry on top. I love whole dynamic between Julian and Lina that change very much after “Prelude”. I just felt in love in Mugpie and many secondary characters such as Nana and of course that old couple that Lina was observing from her window. The old man and Nana was apparently the best relationship advisers.
I love Lina’s inner language cause in that way we can see what is in her head and that she deep inside knows that Julian meant what he was saying and that is true that all his doings were for her.
And I know that most of you hated Andrew from the beginning but let me say this there is more to his story that we thought it was. And there will be some part in the book that I wrote to Auden “how could you do that? Why? How could she? How could he?”. There is one crucial point with no return. Once you get there you won’t be able to stop reading until you will finish whole book. And that’s what shows that book is amazing. That you get so invested in character lives.
And that extra bits in Julian’s POV and Andrew’s epilogue in which you will be hoping he will find his true happy ending too, believe me you will be hoping that.
So for me it was great ending to the duet which left me with the smile and warm feeling in my heart and I am looking forward for more from Auden who is now one of my favorite authors from US and I am really counting on that soon some publisher from Poland will published her books in my country too. And if you are looking for a great Valentine’s day read the Interlude Duet is your go to.
Omg!!
I have a confession I liked the first book and wondered what I got myself into. It wasn’t my favorite, but after reading this one it all makes sense and I need go go back and change my original review. Julian and Lina and even Andrew have left an impression on me that will last for years. It’s a story of past, present and future love wrapped up in a story that pulls at all the heart strings. Bravo on your first duet!! Can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author.
So this book had me crying tears of joy and sadness and in one chapter. A man who doesn’t know if he can love and a women who doesn’t know if she is good enough for him. So does she settle for the safe man who she thinks she can love or does so run full on to a man who has broken her heart to many times to count !! This is a must read!!!
book 2 of interlude duet an awesome series highly recommend it
