BraydenI’m a goddamn prodigy. It’s true. Ask anyone. I threw my first curveball the day I was born. The whole town is waiting on me. To live up to my father’s famous name. To reach for the stars. All I want to reach for is her. But Ashley is the sweet addiction I can’t afford. She’s my best friend’s sister. Hell, she’s practically my little sister. For years, I’ve protected her from guys that … She’s my best friend’s sister. Hell, she’s practically my little sister. For years, I’ve protected her from guys that want one thing. What happens now that I’ve turned into one of them? Who’s gonna shield her from the way I was made, from my little white lies and from what I’m about to become?
My game plan sounds simple: Pitch my way into the Major League draft and stay out of Ashley Foster’s pants. That first part may be statistically difficult.
The second feels damn near impossible.
Ashley
From the moment we met, I knew he was trouble.
The kind my mother sent me to find.
The type that ruins you for any other brand.
When we were young kids, I didn’t know what to call the frogs and butterflies that danced in my belly whenever Brayden came near. Now I know they have a name.
Those three little words that could heal or destroy him.
Before Brayden, my life was normal. And then it wasn’t. It couldn’t be. Ever again. How was I to know stealing his seat would change all our lives?
Anger and forgiveness share two halves of the same coin.
Our story might make you choose sides.

How intense! The raw despair of this story gutted me. I have such hope for the second book, and yet, there is something about heartbreak that I love. It reminds me that life isn’t always HEA, and we can still go on. So either way, I’m invested.
This book is AMAZING! The characters are addicting and so relatable. The steam and angst is 100%. The insecurities bring the tears. Breathtaking.
Wow!! Just freaking WOW!! This book had it all! All the feels! Every last one of them! I cried, laughed, wanted to throw things and felt sick to my stomach. The writing was phenomenal. I felt EVERYTHING!!! Brayden’s life was just one tragedy after another and poor Ashley thought she could save the day… until she couldn’t. I really felt for her. I wanted to be her friend to help her through everything. I need to dive into their conclusion. I just can’t wait!!
Wow, what a debut!
Brayden and Ashley have a bond that they share only with each other. Yes, she’s his best friend’s little sister, but she’s also his friend. And more, if she has any say in the matter.
But Brayden knows better than to cross that line. And it’s that refusal that can change their relationship, if they let it.
Can Brayden stick to his refusal to touch his best friend’s sister? Or is the bond they have too much for him to fight?
I LOVE Interference. It’s an excellent debut, full of all the feels that first love and crushes bring. Kudos Harlow Cole!
God, now I’m seriously dying to get to book 2. These two need some resolution, stat!

From the first day they met, Brayden and Ashley developed a bond, one that no one else around them ever fully understood, and through the years that bond only deepened… turning into something that bordered a little more closer to love than friendship. But Brayden knows admitting that he is falling for his best friend’s little sister would cause a ripple effect that would ruin his future and hers… he is no good for her right now.
He cycles through women constantly, never keeping one around for more than a night, and likes to party a little too much. He knows adding Ashley to that mix would only cause her heartache, and cause him to lose sight of his goals, and damage the future he has planned for them.
But Ashley isn’t a patient girl… she wants him in whatever way she can have him, and she is not taking his no’s for an answer any longer! Suddenly keeping his hands off the girl of his dreams becomes a whole lot harder than he anticipated!
Interference is a heart-wrecking little page-turner that had me mesmerized from beginning to end… once I met these two I just couldn’t pry my eyes from their story. Love is complicated enough as it is, but you add in the fact the girl you want happens to be your best friends little sister, and that amps things up in the complicated column a whole lot more. Watching Brayden and Ashley fight their feelings for one another was torturous at times, the angst was high, and so was the sexual tension… these two had serious undeniable chemistry. But as with all forbidden relationships there are always complications… and these two stumbled into a mess I am not sure they will ever recover from. I am dying to see what happens for these two, cliffhangers are a killer sometimes! But I have a feeling this one will be well worth the wait! Highly recommend you get your hands on this beautifully crafted tale, it promises to put a squeeze on your heart that will be felt long after you swipe the last page.
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion
So this slow burn romance knocked my socks off!! I absolutely loved the deception and past that these characters had. It made it totally engaging and consumed me until I finished this story. The author created these strong characters who realize what has happened in the past. She has such an amazing way with words and the situations these characters are in. She had a masterpiece on her hands that leaves you begging for more (literally! A cliffhanger!). This book will make you obsess for the next book.
Brayden and Ashley have quite the past. In this book, you get to see how the story came about and what has happened to put the rift between them. Their chemistry is off the charts and will leave you fanning yourself. The ending will make you wonder what you just read – so hold on for this rollercoaster of emotions, sexiness and a cliffhanger like you’ve never experienced.
I was on the fence about this book. I wasn’t sure if I loved it or hated it. But then I let a few days pass and in that time all I could think about was these two. It’s painful to read about two people who clearly love each other to couse so much pain to eachother. I didn’t like the way Brandon handled his problems. I understand that were talking about teen-agers here but still…but one thing I know for sure is that I loved Ashley. She was the bright spot in this story. I really hoping he gets his act together in book too makes up to her in collosal ways because I’m not sure I could get over the past they shared. The way the book ended I have a feeling this duet might become one of my favourite book out there.

An emotional journey
Definite tissue and Hot Cocoa read!
“STAY.”
“Forgive.”
“Life in the middle place was supposed to hurt. We’re meant to suffer through them—those years that straddle the uncomplicated life of a child and the complex web of adulthood. They’re pre-programmed to blow chunks. Full helpings of angst and raging hormones, leave very few unscathed.” ~ Ash
This sums up the first half of the St. Michaels Duet. Interference takes place right at the cusp of our casts adulthood. Those years when all our dreams still seemed possible. The ones where we usually made the greatest memories as well as some of our greatest mistakes.
I needed some time to recover and gather my thoughts after reading this. The story brought out an assortment of emotions for me leaving me a bit broken and definitely with a book hangover.
We start in the now and are cast back to the beginning. Interference takes us back through the events that occurred that made the ‘now’ possible. The story itself was very easy to follow. The cast, for the most part, was easy to connect with and each member was well written. There were times I felt we spent more time in a scene than was necessary but in the end, I am glad for the quieter moments. They tied everything together even if I did not see it at the time.
“Folks deserved to ride into hell on their own power.”
Brayden, at times, made the idea of forgiveness extremely hard.
He was at the crossroads ~ the raging hormones, the pressure of living up to others expectations ~ That place where you want to be an adult but aren’t quite sure how.
I did have trouble with his character at times, he could be so extreme. After seeing his world I understood many of his reactions. Didn’t approve of them but I got it.
He was loved, truly loved, yet he still wanted that one thing he just could never seem to acquire ~ parental approval. Negative or positive it did not seem to matter. Anything that for a moment made him feel wanted, that he wasn’t a castoff.
IMO his instant “brotherly” connection to Soot was a bit of transference.
They did make the best of besties.
“A tiny little monster with a real hard head.”
Ashley was a sweetie. I enjoyed her tomboy persona. She wasn’t afraid to be who she was. Her presence a soothing balm for Brayden’s inner monster.
Joey ~ Ashley’s bestie. The town gossip queen and trouble walking. I loved her.
Nathan, Ashley’s brother. was a quiet presence. He was in most of the story buy IMO his actions didn’t really stand out until maybe the last few chapters. There was a reason for that.
There are quite a few other cast members whose presence make a very strong impact on the story line. Some I wanted to toss into the lake so they had some time to cool their heels others I wanted to wrap in bubble wrap and protect from what I knew was coming.
Overall a very intense read that kept me entertained and emotionally engaged
If you take a chance on one New Adult novel this year
Let it be this one
This one is definitely one of my Top 5 reads this year.I really enjoyed reading this book.
I was very much blown away by this book.
Brayden and Ashley meet when they are around 12 years old. When Ashley’s family moves in this small town she is not happy about it.While exploring city’s library Ashley meets Brayden and their bond is instant. From that moment Brayden is like new member of her family, her parents accept him and Ashley’s brother Nathan and Brayden become best friends.
The story starts when they are kids and slowly progresses into their teenage years. With time their feelings change and their love becomes stronger.Because the story starts when they are kids you see them growing up and you see how their love blossomed.
This is a very slow-burning romance so be aware of that(if you are not fan of it the go away from this book).
At one point I was really frustrated with this story, but the I remembered that they are teenagers and that making such decision was normal for them. They ignored their feelings on too many occasions and for god’s sake I HATE Brayden’s dad.I really do.
The writing was really engaging and nice…I was sucked in from the very first page.
The book end on very devastating cliffhanger(I hated it) that just left me in complete mess.
Without giving any spoiler away,I really recommend this book. It’s engaging, very well written, has good dialogue and amazing characters development.
Oh,and I already know that I wan’t to read Nathan’s book.
