I’m a fan of this author so was looking forward to reading Nathaniel and Madeline’s story. Enemies to lovers is a favourite genre of mine and these two give new meaning to verbal foreplay. I loved their back and forth banter it was so funny reading the ways he tries to get under her skin.
As well as the love/hate relationship there is a another story within this book which the author write sensitively and with such depth of feeling. If your looking for a book that will make you cry with laughter ibe moment and cry with sadness the next you’ll love this story

Enemies to Lovers…..! *Swoon*
Wow. I’m literally left Speechless. Recklessly heart broken. Sad. Crying Happy tears. Content. Raw emotions.
Never have I ever loved to hate one of Ava’s Heroes in her story, more than I do Nathaniel Harrington. British playboy, Rich, arrogant and cocky… He sure did live up to his reputation and took the cake and ate the ice cream too. And Madeline my strong brave, fierce, independent girl! I loved how she had a backbone and got things done. She’s definitely my type of heroine. Loved this book and everything about it.
I love Ava’s H/h in her stories, I can’t wait to see what else she has in store. I’m hoping more books are to come.
Sometimes you read/ listen to a book and it’s not what you expect. Intention is one of those books. I thought I’d enjoy it, but I wasn’t expecting to connect so deeply. This book consumed me. It was everything. Things to know about me, I don’t really like British heroes and I find it hard to connect with heroines. Things about this book, I adored Nathaniel Harrington, and I loved and connected with Madeline Montgomery. So yeah, that totally turned itself around and I love it when that happens. When something is so unexpected. Intention is everything, this book just captured my heart and soul, it made me laugh, it made me swoon, and it made me cry…honestly, at parts it made me sob. This book is a top read, not just of 2019, but ever! It just ticked so many boxes for me that it couldn’t not.
Ava Harrison has become a must read author. She is amazingly talented and she handles sensitive subjects with such grace and sensitivity and embeds beauty and care into it so well, that is is just astounding. She clearly does an awful amount of research. You can’t help but fall in love with her words and her characters. She’s amazing, her writing is flawlessly beautiful and raw. I urge anybody to pick up a book of hers. But, especially this book. This book is special, this is the book that is going to grab people and say, you know what, yes! The whole book is just astounding and everything you could hope for in a book, it is just beautiful. I actually want Olly’s story. What’s his jam, what’s going on. Who is this American he’s talking about? I definitely look forward to more from Ava. You must pick up this book it is magnificent.
Nathaniel Harrington is a self-absorbed a-hole with a heart and I love him. He wants what he wants, he does what he wants and he’s not going to let anything get in his way. He’s the lost boy that never grew up, he’s never had to. When his legacy is threatened he does what every normal person would do, he manipulates his sparring partner into becoming his fake girlfriend. Simples. Except, it’s anything but simple, the chemistry and sexual tension is off the charts. It is only a matter of time before all that tension and banter would collide into something else and the more time they spend together the more their feelings change. Seeing the progression and growth in Nathaniel was awesome. He started as such an a-hole, a smooth, sexy, funny a-hole, but an a-hole just the same. And seeing him acknowledge and change from the party boy into the businessman with a heart of gold who just wanted to be happy. Madeline Montgomery is everything. I love her. It’s rare I find a female character that I can identify with, that I can connect with and be on the side of. There were so many aspects of her life that I could relate to. She’s a strong independent woman, she doesn’t need anything, but, in reality, she does, she just doesn’t know how she can have it. She doesn’t want to fall in love, but she does anyway. She makes some questionable decisions that I’m sure will frustrate some listeners, but I totally understood them. They made my heart break for her. Her strength is the shining beacon of this story. Nathaniel and Madeline’s relationship was really special, how they brought out the best in one another and the banter, man, it was awesome. I loved the whole Peter Pan element to the story. The epilogue was just everything I could have hoped for, and it was necessary. It really fits with the story, it offers an air of realism to what they’re going through, and have been through as well, rather than just a simple, oh they lived happily ever after, which they do, don’t get me wrong, this just isn’t your typical and some people will not like that. Although it’s short, it gives you all the details you need to know and the feeling that this wasn’t just a quick fix.
The Britishness of the story is handled brilliantly, it’s subtle and understated, every other word isn’t bloody, and everybody drinking tea. Which believe it or not, we don’t actually do. It is done in a way that it is obvious the character is British, but it’s not in a way that you think OMG, this is an episode of Downton Abbey. I love the fact that this is set primarily in New York but one of the characters is British and therefore has British friends, and they do go over to London and have that time there and do some of the touristy things because you know, there is nothing worse than having a book set in London and having them doing touristy things that we just don’t do. His reaction to it is very much how someone that has spent time in London would react, the touristy stuff is just that, for tourists. I thought that part was handled really well too. Credit to Ava for having the foresight to ask British readers to test read it to make sure she got it right. I wish more authors did this.
Shane East and Andi Arndt performed this book to perfection. Shane is the go-to voice for a British accent, and rightly so, he just nails every performance. He had the perfect style for the character of Nathaniel, he does sexy sarcasm so well. The progression of the character and his growth really came across brilliantly in is performance, and yes, lots of lots of swooning is to be had. Who can resist that accent? (Other than British listeners lol) Andi Arndt was fantastic as Madeline Montgomery, there are some emotional scenes that she just performed spectacularly. She left nothing out, every raw and heartbreaking part shined through. Andi is great at the smart and sassy characters and she didn’t disappoint. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her do a British accent before, and it was good, although, her male voice wasn’t as swoony as normal (yeah, I swoon over a female’s male voice – stop judging) but I think that is to be expected, I’m critical of the British accent anyhow and having it switch from Shane to Andi – you’re going to notice it. I preferred Shane’s Madeline to Andi’s Nathaniel but I think many people would disagree, and that’s going to be a location thing, I feel. That being said, there was nothing about their performances that I didn’t like. If you pick up this audiobook, and I hope you do, I think you’ll be swept away by their portrayal of these characters and their story.
This is an enemies to lovers/office romance/fake relationship story. Ava Harrison did it again. This is a wonderful, and outstanding story. I love Nathaniel and Madeline. They are both great characters, and they share a strong and sizzling chemistry. Nathaniel Harrington (I love his powerful name!) is Rich, Arrogant, Condescending, but he is so much more than that. Madeline is a beautiful and strong woman, caring and protective. Their story is so beautifully written and realistic. I love their happy ending. This story has it all: funny, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and steamy. I didn’t want this story to end and I loved each moment while listening to it. Shane East is a perfect match as Nathaniel. Both narrators did an amazing and believable, and perfect interpretation. I TOTALLY recommend this audiobook, and it’s totally worth a credit, believe me. I have listened to Absolution and loved it as much as I loved Intention. Now, I absolutely have to listen to the other books written by Ava Harrison.
Madeline is a fierce, strong woman who’s got a great life. She has a job she excels at, works with her friend, she seems to have it all. And then Nathaniel happens to her. Nathaniel, that cocky British manwhore who becomes her boss and swaggers around the office as if he owns the place…
Nathaniel comes across as the typical shallow manwhore at first, but he’s got layers that aren’t readily apparent. He loves getting underneath Tink’s (his nickname for her) skin, loves riling her up. But when he needs something, she’s the one he asks. And she agrees because it will benefit both of them. But will their fake relationship turn real?
I absolutely loved in•ten•tion! The witty, snarky banter, the oozing sexual tension, the fake relationship trope, the hot Brit, yep, I loved it all. But I especially loved Tink. She’s Ava’s best heroine so far, definitely my favorite of hers, and she was just the perfect woman to bring her cocky Brit to his knees. There were some awesome secondary characters, too, that I’m hoping will get their own stories. Hint, hint!
Wow another winner for Ava Harrison. This one is filled with emotion even until the last word is read. Everyone loves a bad boy but Nathaniel is so different. He appears to be the “bad boy” on the outside but underneath he is anything but. He get involved with Madeline, aka Tink because he knows it is all fake. He is not looking for a relationship and she is married to her job. So what could be better. He proves to the board that he is competent and he gets to take over for his grandfather and his legacy lives on.
But he learns that without Tink he is nothing. He never saw it coming and neither did she. They are the perfect couple. What started as a fake relationship grew to something so inspiring and loving. Through it all love in its many forms is what is important. More important than legacy. Families are not built by blood alone. Love is what makes a family. Ava Harrison does an amazing job with these characters. You laugh with them, you cry with them and you cheer with them. Most of all you love with them. A true 5 star read.
Intention is the epitome of all the good feelings we have when we read contemporary romance.
Nathaniel is strong and sexy and arrogant and a man on a mission.
Madeline is feisty and sassy and driven, mostly to hide her pain, but she wears her armor well.
I laughed, I cried and I swooned over a heart warming HEA.
Once again Ava Harrison hits us with the emotions. This story is amazing, definitely hooks you from the page and leaves you wanting more.
Nathaniel is your typical alpha party boy. He things he can just get everything he want bc of who he is. But she fast learns that’s not true and he actually as to work for things.
Madeline we know as Jace and Preston’s sister from the previous books. She’s a very independent woman, and CEO of of her best friends clothing line. She is dealing with a health issue that as here guarded and understandably so. It’s not till Nathaniel comes into her life does she start to question things.
This two characters are so easy to fall in love with. Their banter will have you laughing and their chemistry is off the charts. I loved the way they changed each other for the better.
Definitely another hit for Ava
I adored this book so much!
Ms. Harrison gives the reader a bit of everything in Intention,it’s funny,it’s heartwarming and it’s gut wrenching.
The characters are great. Even though they both have major flaws,Nathaniel is a playboy and Madeline is a control freak.
As you get more into the story we get to understand the reasoning behind these issues.
I loved the banter between Nathaniel and Tink,it was hilarious!
Just a terrific book that kept me engaged from beginning to end.
Please keep Kleenex on hand because you will definitely need them.
That ending was everything!
Wow, I just loved the premise of the story. I modern Peter Pan and Tinkerbell with Nathaniel Harrington and Madeline Montgomery. This story aligns so well with Peter Pans childish ways and Tink’s feisty attitude.
Tink held out for so long and gave a really good fight against Nathaniel’s wiles, but there’s always something about a cute smirky boy. Plus, just a little pixie dust will work wonders to pull him right in. These two had the angry attitude that just turned into all the right feels.
This story just had all the goods. Fairy tell style background, sexy goodness because Ava knows how to bring it, and a story with meaning and purpose. There’s always a little more depth to her characters than first thought.
Intention is full of…everything. By everything I mean:
-an arrogant, annoying British man that’s so gorgeous your eyes hurt
-a feisty, high strung career woman who is a disturbingly intense control freak
-lust, lust, and more lust
– some naughty times that will have you shifting closer to your reading device/book
– feels. Yes, feels. The tears in your eyes heartbreak. The loss and devastation that twists you up. The unhappy loneliness. The emptiness of hopelessness. Totally a feels book!
It’s also a workplace fauxmance. (Going to get that added to Webster’s any day now!) Enemies to lovers. Label it what you want. It’s a great story with a heart melting conclusion.
I have every Intention of sharing this book with everyone I know!
4.5 stars

My heart is so full right now. What a beautiful epilogue. Ava Harrison brings us another story full of emotion and heart.
I love the banter between Nathaniel and Madeline. They are so much fun together. There is no denying their chemistry. Nathaniel lives for the moment and is suddenly pushed to have to grow up. Madeline lives for her job. She is strong willed and fierce. Together, her and Nathaniel are a force.
I enjoyed the build of Nathaniel and Madeline relationship. It’s fun and witty and I enjoyed watching it blossom into more, whether either of them wanted to admit it or not. They each have things going on with themselves that deter them from moving forward. This story of trust and letting others in is tough and emotional, but full of love. Beautifully written.
10 BEAUTIFUL STARS!! Phenomenal is all I can say!! This book will be in my TOP 10 books for 2019….I already know!! Nathaniel and Madeline’s story is beautifully written with all the feels and their banter is off the charts good. These characters will be engraved in my heart forever. Their story is like reading an adult fairytale (Tink and Peter) are MAGICAL. Ava Harrison’s words are perfection, one of those authors you never forget and always 1-Click.
With any book I have to sit down, and actually think about what I read. Did it speak to me, did I feel a connection, was I in the moment with these characters? To some it’s easy to write a review, others make notes, and sit and stew about it. Me, I am usually a fly by the seat of her pants type of chick, and then along comes a book that hits me right between the eyes. This book, Intention by Ava Harrison hit a cord so deep, I was left gasping for air between my tears.
To some this book doesn’t hit that cord, and that’s cool, there are plenty of books that don’t do it for me, that other rave about. To each their own. This book, is so beautifully written, is so thoughtfully drawn out, and well done, that it leaves you wanting more. More of what they have, yet at the same time, you don’t want the hardships they go through to get what they have.
I am not one for long drawn out reviews, I like the book, I speak it. I don’t like the book, I speak it. This book is a whole new level of I think I either hate the author, or love her and at this point it’s a toss up. This Nathaniel is a hot mess, no lie about it, but he rally’s and that is what matters. He shows his strength of character through this book, and Madeline is the epitome of grace under fire. these characters are so well written, every words draws you in and holds you by the throat, and chokes you on your emotions. Trust me when I say you will want to read this. Please read it, it’s amazing. This story is told in dual pov.
Ava has done it again. Her ability to capture your attention with a swoony, stubborn, sexy man comes to life in this modern day fairytale of “Peter Pan,” the boy who doesn’t want to grow up. Nathaniel Harrington has big shoes to fill, a family legacy that rests on his shoulders. He’s not ready for this responsibility until Madeline, aka “Tink” comes along and uses her magic fairy dust to bring out the best in him.
It’s not surprising that the two of them butt heads from the very start. Madeline lives her life needing to be in complete control and one thing she can’t control is Nathaniel, now that he owns the company she works for. Nathaniel doesn’t have a care in the world, living life as it comes and enjoying all the things his wealth has to offer him.
Madeleine is strong, she doesn’t back down and that is was makes her such a likeable heroine. Yes, she’s known as the Ice Queen to those she works with, but watching Nathaniel thaw those walls she has in place was a journey worth taking. The banter between these two is great and seeing Nathaniel for who he really is warmed my heart. He may not be ready to grow up, but his heart is real. As time goes on, the mutual respect they have for one another takes flight and their adoration grows into so much more.
This is a great story of trust and believing in yourself. It’s not easy putting your heart in someone else’s hands, but sometimes the risk is worth it. Flying to Neverland with these two was quite the trip
I loved Nathaniel & Madeline and their journey! A journey that was an emotional rollercoaster that pulled on my heart strings. I laughed, cried, and couldn’t stop reading. I highly recommend this whole series! In-ten-tion is my favorite so far!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
