Thank you J.E. Cluney for another fabulous book! You are quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Savage Collects has fantastic character development that I loved & a fast paced storyline which grabs you by the hair from page 1!
Action packed sequel in a excellent paranormal RH series. The world building is more complex the character development is more complex as expected in a second book. The steam level was still very high. I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though much of the topic of this one was dark. Happily ever after reigned In the end. Definitely recommend.
Wow this one picks right up where the last one started. We find out Sav is with the collector and the guys are working out how to save her. Tristan was taken by the hunters with Jackson. We meet some new characters and a new mate. The twist and turns were fantastic. I love how unpredictable this story is. So refreshing and the sexy times are good
This was a sitting on the edge of my seat non stop action I couldn’t sleep till I finished kind of book. And I don’t regret only getting three hours of sleep. Sav is a badass and she won’t let anyone control her doesn’t matter what kind of supernatural they are or how strong they are. And her mates will stop at nothing to get her back. Definitely five stars from!!
I love this authors work. Loved this book, it has some many different type of paranormals. Highly recommend this book and the one before.
Institute of Supernaturals: Savage Collects Kindle Edition
by J.E. Cluney (Author)
Thank you to the author for an e-ARC. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
The second book in the series is better plotted and less bedroom antics than the first as we find Savage in a gladiatorial pit where she must fight other kitsune for the right to breed her. Her men are on the hunt for her, with some assistance from an unexpected place.
That all said, this book is simply to short. Too short for true enjoyment, of course that’s true of all books. But there are simply too many characters running about and half of them have similar names – like Leon and Lionel or Benny and Bernie. That would work if the book were longer and more time could be spent on building the characters and the tensions. This book is less than 250 pages. So, characters like Sav’s adopted-Hunter-father comes off as a grindhouse villain. He is not even 2 dimension.
Savage herself is a kick ass, pragmatic heroine who fills this story with her strength and passion. She is capable of steering this story on her own. Her first person POV narration had me on edge.
The boys occasionally get to handle the narrative. I often had to go back to the start of the chapter to determine who was the narrator. Again, were the book a little bit longer, maybe an ultimate cut, this wouldn’t happen. There just wasn’t room enough to flesh out the important characters or to divide them from the rest of the cast.
When we are caught in Sav’s story, I was on the edge of my seat. When the other narrators come into play, the pacing becomes slightly uneven.
The love scenes were… interesting. The first book, Savage, had more love scenes and more varied.
There is a M/M dynamic in the story that I would like to have seen explored more.
This was an enjoyable if flawed book.
4 stars out of 5 (rounded up from 3 ½)

This is book 2 of 3 in this series and it didn’t disappoint! Wow just wow the emotions in this book are amazing. From Savage missing her mates and them missing her to meeting her true family your heartstrings will be pulled. There’s also a twist you don’t expect in this book (I’m not giving it away) but it makes this series get even better!!! Seriously grab your copy today you won’t regret it.
Holy WOW!
Savage Collects
I LOVE how this author writes her reverse harem romance! This second book in the Institute of Supernaturals series deserves TEN stars!
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
I love Sav. She is badass and all woman. Watching her fight her way back to her mates was amazing. This story was a bit dark, especially with what the Collector did to all the supes. However, Sav has you cheering for her because you know she’s going to kick butt wherever she goes. And I loved finding out what Mr. Oxley was.
Savage is spending time with her mates. Her brother is worried and looking for her. Unfortunately there are others looking for her also, and they do not have the best of intentions. You will laugh, worry, gasp and be totally entertained while reading this book. But in the end there is CAKE ;-). I recommend this book.
Carrying on from book one which left us with that cliffhanger!!! Our female mc continues to be kick ass as she battles in the arena whilst her mates try to locate her! Fab battle scenes, great plot twists and turns , some back story , drama, intrigue, sex, this had Me on the edge of my seat!
A-dict-ive! This book picks up after book 1, grabs you and doesn’t let go! This one is action packed and has enough sexy time to keep a reared going. If you enjoyed book 1, you will love book 2!
“Were back in the second installment of the Institute of Supernaturals series. I thought book one was great but Savage Collect is way greater. After how things ended on book one I really wanted to know what happened and book two started right there.
Sav had been kidnapped by The Collector whom I hated the moment he spoke for the first time. You will get why! My heart broke for what she needed to do (her mates! I’m sorry but I’m a helpless romantic and I wanted them together again) but on a bright side something good happened to her during that time.
We have a new mate! Yes! New mate!! Seriously each page that I read I loved it even more. Great steamy scenes, action, fighting and love. I’m looking forward to see how Sav and her mate’s story developed.”
Savage Collects (Institute of Supernaturals, #2), my second read from author J.E. Cluney, and the second book in the Institute of Supernaturals series. A fast-paced, high-energy, fun-to-read story. Character & plot development were great. I was given a Kindle copy and I’m voluntarily reading & reviewing it I look forward to reading more in this series. Next up is Sage (Spell Library #8). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Great original ideas. Perfectly written and fully developed characters. Amazing world building and perfectly accompanied by a great story line. Well done! Looking forward to more!
In Savage Collects we see Sav starts learning what her true strengths and powers are as a Kitsune. She has her mates by her side and is ready to get back out in the field doing what she does best, hunting supes, but a job that should have been so easy turns disastrous and she winds up being taken to a hell, where you need to fight to survive and Sav is definitely a fighter. As she is fighting to survive, her mates are trying to find her and seek out help from her long lost family, who are eager to help. Even throughout her being held prisoner, Sav still has her sassy spirit and her sex drive, which leads to some more changes in her life. As her mates race to save her she is still determined to escape and not let anyone control her we see the strength she has and how much it is growing. Sav is definitely a badass kitsune with some amazing mates who will do anything for her. She will not be someone’s pet.
Savage Collects is book two in the Institute of Supernaturals series. It can’t be read as a standalone, you must read book one, Savage, first. This one was a good read. It has a lot of action in it and some new characters. We get to meet Sav real family and I’m wondering if they will play a part in book 3 too. Sav has been taken and the hunt is on to find her. She’s not happy but she’s holding her own. There’s a lot going on in this one. There are some surprises in this one. I’m hooked on these characters and can’t wait for book 3.
4 1/2 Stars!
It was so amazing. Sav is such a great heroine but I love all her men. They are each individuals and so much fun. And her family. Okay so if your looking for a book with a serious kickass heroine and there is lots of of good looking men, sex, love, good guy first bad and family dynamics going on as well you have come to the right book. JE Cluney has done it with her 2 book in the Savage series. Unexpected twists and turns that keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning. Definitely worth the read….I hope this is not the end of the Savage series, I really can’t wait to see what is next for Sav and her mates.
Kitsune shifter Savage (MFC) has been kidnapped at the start of this book from the Institute of Supernaturals by the dodgy sounding Collector in book 2 in this series. As his name suggests he collects things mainly Supernatural shifters in this case. He has plans for Savage but what he doesnt bargain for is that shes a trained hunter. Making her bad-a** and Kick-a** so shes not going to let them get their own way. Add to that her 4 mates – Tristan, Damien, Wesley and Leon who will do whatever it takes to get her back. This book is chock full of action, sex and Supernaturals. Its got it all all as well as being a damn good read. Couldnt ask for more really
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I felt like I got to know Sav much more, even though all her mates were around they didn’t dominate the story.
There was a lot more action in this book and less sex. The story flowed really good and kept me hooked, just when I thought something would happen, it changed.
There were a lot of names floating around this book, but I managed to keep track of them all and what species they all were.
I lost track a bit with all the magic and who could do what, but the book was well written so I got the jist.
I’m looking forward to book 3, although I have no idea where it could lead as there wasn’t a cliffhanger as such.
