Instinct is a short quick read. I was hooked on it. Everette is a vampire. He is obsessed with Farah. Everette is definitely weird. He’s conflicted on what to do with Farah. Farah didn’t believe in vampires until Everette so she learning new things. She takes everything very good and I kind of expected her to freak out a bit more.
4.5 Stars
I like this author’s twist on Everett. He is what I picture a vampire to be- Cold, calculating and no feelings. All of this changes when he smells Farah’s blood but he doesn’t change that much. He still wants to drain her dry but she evokes feelings in him that he has never had towards a human before. Everett still lets Farah know she it’s not safe with him and possibly could kill her and she is surprisingly OK with this. Will he kill her? Stay tuned for the next installment of this fascinating series!
What a great start to a dark story that seems like it could get steamy. I love vampire books and this one was no exception. It is a short story that tell how Everette found Farah and planned to kill her as his prey but then started developing feelings for her that he was not familiar with at all. Farah is immediately attracted to Everette even though she knows he is dangerous but she can not keep herself away, agreeing to stay with him even though her instincts tell her not to. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
Not your sparkly vampires!
This is one dark vampire story. The entire time, he’s either planning to drain her dry, or deliberating if/when to kill her. She’s utterly enthralled, but still completely aware of the danger, which makes it even darker. This is a short story (1 hour 31 min), and is a serial within a series, so there’s no resolution at the end of this book. Debbie Soelter’s reading of the story is at times stilted and overly breathy, but Everett and Farah’s voices sound distinctly different, which is appreciated.

3.5/5
Instinct is the first novella of The Elite. It’s short, only about an hour and a half long. The pace is slow, Allowing the tension to build. Both Everette and Farah are fighting themselves and their instincts – Farah to flee and Everette yo not play with his food. Debbie Soelter’s narration is soft and slow, adding to and enhancing the anticipation that Hanleigh Bradley has created. Overall Instinct is a great, but slow, start that leaves you wanting more.

I received this audiobook for free from StoryOrigin. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This was a very short dark vampire tale. He is dark and dangerous and all he wants is to kill her. She is a human and should run from him far and fast because he wants her dead. You can feel something building between them as they fight what they feel, he still wants her dead. She seems a bit clueless at times but takes his crap. I enjoyed the narrator for this book. I am looking forward to the next book.

I found the whole thing captivating and the way hanleigh writes her story’s has you griped from the start. A darker paranormal story with a vampire named Everett who seems to be attached to more than just blood but doesn’t quite know why. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read craving the next instalment to this series.
the story itself was well written and i liked the characters but this should have been longer and more complete. its like once the story truly got started the book was over. I personally feel it could have been one book. if you like a quick read or a story spread out over multiple books then this is the book for you.
I loved everything about this book. It had me hooked from the prologue, I couldn’t stop listening to it for a moment. I loved how it went between the main characters point of view, that really kept me on my toes. Overall this was an amazing book and I can’t wait to listen to the second one.
It’s all about instinct – the reaction from both Everette and Farah is pure instinct. Neither of them can explain their actions and thoughts.
It’s a slow paced story – one that you need to read every word.
It’s started, now I’m only waiting for the next part. I’m totally in this now, need more.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
He says he is a monster and he doesn’t play with his food. Farrah has given him several opportunities and he has taken any yet, actually I think he’s confused, but why don’t you listen well Debbie tells you Everettes story, maybe you can decide for yourself?
Review for Audiobook Obsession
While the story was extremely interesting it was just a bit too short. I would have liked to see more depth the characters and how the were developed. The storyline itself was intriguing and drew me in. It was well written and the characters have so much promise. It is a quick listen and very much worth listening to. Debbie Soelter was very clear in speaking and you could easily distinguish which character was speaking or thinking. I would definitely love to see how the story progresses. It is definitely worth reading.
This story is focused on a vampire intense obsession with a human. This is a very intense read and fast pace.
I’m not sure if this is going to be a romantic story or a dark obsession story, but it’s steamy and intriguing. I’m definitely going to get the next one and find out.
Everett is a vampire who is obsessing over a human named Farah. You get his pov and it is an interesting view to say. This story continues and I can’t wait to see the outcome.

I liked the dangerous vibe this story had. It ends in a cliffhanger and is a quick read but it is also entertaining because the characters are engaging. He seems intent on his role though I think his actions surprise himself. I’m not quite sure of her yet. Is she naive or is she sensing something which the reader isn’t privy to yet? A good story that shows promise.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Hanleigh Bradley; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This was an interesting take on the vampire’s view and the prey’s view. Farah was a barista. Everett was a vampire that had an infatuation with her. His journey with her wasn’t his normal tryst with his food and we will have to find out why in the next book.

This is a short story that introduces us to Everette a very old, very much an arse, royal vampire
And his deliciously sweet but a bit ‘airish’ (I say that with the kindest of thoughts) prey.
Multiple times throughout this story I found myself laughing at Everette – His behaviors and responses are a comical example of the age-old adage about how a woman’s “essence” can make the strongest of men nothing but putty.
This sets the tone for the series and gives us a bit of background – not a lot mind you. Things are still very vague.
In my opinion it is more of a teaser –
And it worked by the way
I want to know what is behind the curtain!

A great start to what will be an amazing vampire series. It’s quick and fast paced but keeps you intrigued throughout to keep you guessing what will happen and can these two find happiness or are they doomed from the start.
