Love had cut me in so many ways I wondered if my heart could take any more. But then I saw him. He was my boss. A single father. And to top it off he was insolent. I didn’t intend to want him, that wasn’t my objective. But somehow I couldn’t say no. We shouldn’t have worked, but like witchcraft, I was under his spell. My heart had been destroyed before, I wasn’t sure it could handle heartbreak … heartbreak again.

This series took me by surprise. It’s not one I think I would have picked out for myself but I’m so glad I dove in!
Insolent is book #4 and the end for our Crimson Elite guys. We finally get Darby’s story and I just KNEW his was going to be fantastic because he’s such an interesting character throughout the series.
The push and pull between him and Olympia (Blue) is intense. Just like the rest of the guys, when they meet their match the chemistry is explosive and the journey to getting together a whole lot bumpy and full of drama. Add in the extra drama with the surprise Darby has in store and MAN. What a read!
I loved this series and definitely recommend!
Such an amazing book absolutely loved it
4.5 stars!
I think Darby just became my favorite hunky Crimson Elite! He was always the the one in absolute control, rubbing it in everyone’s faces that he owned the majority of the club. Swore he’d always remain focused and never fall for a woman like all his friends slowly but surely had. Especially not one who worked for him.
Darby’s ability to adapt and accept was one of the most admiring qualities about his character. He was thrown a major curve ball and bounced back like no one else could. You got to see his tender side but also the facade he kept in place to guard his heart and his business.
Olympia was escaping from her life and found herself slinging shots behind the bar at Crimson Elite for her good friend in his absence. What she didn’t think she’d find was an undeniable attraction to The Big Man and his broody and controlling personality. She was everything he needed in his life. He was everything she was running from.
The chemistry and compatibility of these two characters ran so deep. They each had secrets. They each had to tear down walls within one another that had been build up miles high over the years. As the story unfolded, these two slowly started to let down their guard and open their hearts to one another and it was the most beautiful coupling of the entire series!
Cleo’s entire story line broke me! What a powerful direction the author chose to take this read. It was the most emotional and heartbreaking of all the books in this series, but was also the most honest and vulnerable. I appreciated this approach so much, especially for Darby’s story in particular. It worked so well for his character! I absolutely loved this book and was so glad it was the one to end the series.
From the moment this series began I have anticipated Darby’s story. And once I knew it was going to be the last book I knew it was going to be something special. That the wait was going to be for something big.
You get a build up through the other books and when the time came I wasn’t prepared for where Darby and Olympia took me. It was excruciatingly painful yet so full of hope and love. Two lost and scared souls finding each other. Insolent had the most serious vibe out of all the books and it.was.everything.
This is the hardest to review because how do you review perfection ? That’s what this book was to me. Olympia was such a strong and honest female lead. Everything she’s been through and she still has a vibrancy to her. And Darby with this new life he’s been left to navigate and does it with so much love. Read this book, if not the entire series, at least Insolent . You won’t be disappointed.
Gah! You guys, this was BY FAR my favorite book in the Crimson Elite series! Darby & Olympia’s story absolutely blew my mind and put my poor heart through the ringer, but I loved every single word that I read!
Darby’s past comes knocking with some news that turns his world upside down. He certainly didn’t see this one coming. He doesn’t make mistakes. He is always careful. He is the one responsible for the company running smoothly. He is the glue that fixes everything and holds it all together. Now to find out that he was lured into an unexpected pregnancy. This really throws him for a loop, especially when not everything is as it seems.
Then to top it all off, Olympia aka Blue, walks into his life. She is the new bartender Creed hired for their all exclusive club. She is the last thing that Darby wants, but he can’t seem to stay away. He is drawn to her when he shouldn’t be. He’s her boss, and she’s his employee. This is a line that he is not supposed to cross. But his desire for her is so all-consuming that he even dreams of her; the beautiful woman with the bright blue hair.
The sexual tension between the two is palpable, the chemistry explosive, and the back and forth banter had me smiling and laughing. Despite trying to fight it, the two of them were the perfect match. I was not a big fan of Darby until I got his story. Now this enigma of a man is easily my most favorite of the bunch. It was impossible not to fall head over heels for these wonderful characters.
Insolent was the perfect ending to a fantastic series. It was wonderfully written with a well developed plot, endearing characters and steamy hot moments that just oozed off the pages. Darby and Olympia’s journey will surely tug at your heart strings. I smiled. I laughed. I cried, and I most definitely swooned. This is one story that you won’t want to miss. So stop what you are doing, and grab yourself a copy. Take a chance on it, and experience the beauty of it. It will be well worth every single second of it.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by author)…
I am so sad this is the last book in this series!
I have been interested in Darby’s book for a while especially with that twist in Falcon’s book, Conceited. He was always Mr Rulebook and never let anything touch his friends or his elite club; I mean looked what almost happened to Ariel.
The way this book started off completely tore out a piece of my heart because we finally get some insight to Chloe and why she did what she did to Darby. Then there is Olympia, aka Blue, who just comes in and completely upturns Darby’s already crazy world, which I loved.
I loved Olympia’s quirky sassiness and my heart also tore for her as well. The situation between her, Slate and her family was interesting to behold, but it showed how much Olympia had overcome. I will say that although she didn’t revel in it, Olympia did have an indulged lifestyle so I couldn’t really connect with her 100%; but I did love her.
I have to say it, Darby was a major buttmole to Olympia throughout the entire book and he earned, deserved a huge kick in b*lls. I’m a little annoyed Olympia didn’t do more to him, but I guess that makes her a more mature person than I am.
I would have loved an extended epilogue showing how all the couples are doing or how their futures turned out especially Creed.
I did not want this series to end 🙁
Just some questions I had:
How did Olympia meet Johnny?
What happened to Johnny?
What happened with Slate’s journey?
What about Olympia’s brother (who I felt was an a**)?
I loved this book and it was awesome
Another amazing read in this series! Finally we get Darby’s story, and it does not disappoint. Olympia is such a perfect match for Darby, she is strong willed, says what’s on her mind, funny and doesn’t care about what others think. But both of them have some insecurities they need to overcome if they want a relationship to last. Darby the strong silent planner of all finally realizes there is more to life than work.
I thought my favorite boy from the elite series was Echo but now I’m not so sure, because Darby is sooo perfect!! He is moody, alpha and hot! all the things I love about my heroes. Even do I love him so much my crush is for Olympia. She is the girl I want on my side, her personality is explosive and charming all wrapped in a badass package. Can you be my new BFF?
I am little sad because it’s the end of the series but it was the perfect book to finish the incredible ride. As always my dark queen made me fall in love with all her characters. 5 – elite 4evererr – stars
Well as this series comes to an end it blows my mind just how great of a read this was. It most certainly does not disappoint. It has everything and brings you threw some great emotions. I don’t wanna leave any spoilers, so I’ll just say wow. It truly was a great unexpected read.
The Dream You Never Dreamt
4.5 Stars The perfect ending to this series! Darby and Olympia were fire and ice! This story was emotional, sexy and will tug at the heartstrings.
Darby was elusive. The guy who kept everything running smoothly but lived a solitary life. His life has been turned upside down in more ways than one. He didn’t want her. He just wanted her to go away, yet he couldn’t keep his distance. He couldn’t stop wanting her. He’s her boss, she’s his employee. He’s not supposed to cross that line.
Olympia is doing her own thing. She just wants to let go of the past, be free and move on. She’s sexy, sassy and bows down for no man. Now bartending at the elusive club, Darby gives her hell and she gives it right back tenfold.
The man has met his match. So much sexual tension, EXPLOSIVE chemistry and feelings neither one of them wants, makes for a story you won’t be able to put down. I was not a fan of Darby until now. I love catching up with all the guys and their women. Such wonderfully complex characters. A great series that I really enjoyed and you don’t want to miss!
Ahh this story really pulled at my heart strings. I devoured this book and highly recommend it.
T.L. Smith got me in the feels with this Book, like all of the god damn feels. I’m addicted to her words and Insolent is going to be one of the books that is on my constant rereads pile.
Darby was way more emotional than I expected and for that I felt a really strong connection to his story and the both main characters. Single dad books and my jam and T.L delivered him perfectly.
Blue (aka) Olympia is the first to ever get under Darby’s skin, problem is he has Charles and no room for anyone else. These two though they have crazy chemistry and you will enjoy every delicious second of it. Once you start you will devour every page.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and series, this is a must read.
Well that’s it all finished…and I have been completely captivated by this series from start to finish. I loved Darby’s story and Olympia is a perfect match for him… albeit their journey is a sad and complicated one.
Olympia is a strong woman who has suffered a terrible tragedy, and it is fair to say there are some very emotional moments is this story. Without giving anything away one of the saddest parts is a letter addressed to and read by Darby towards the end of the book; I am not a crier but I had a lump in my throat. All the usual crew feature in the story adding humour and brotherly love to the narrative,
The epilogue is a wonderful round up of all four friends and their forever loves…and I was thrilled that even some of the more mature characters managed to find their happy ever afters. This series has been such a wonderful mix of funny, bittersweet and steamy. It’s sad to say goodbye…I read an advanced copy of the book.
love this series

What a read! I have enjoyed the Crimson Elite series and Darby’s story didn’t disappoint.
Darby and Olympia were the best. Their chemistry was amazing and their story was perfect. I love all my boys in this series and have to say Darby has my heart too now. Thanks again TL Smith for another great read.
Insolent is a stunning addition to the Crimson Elite series by T. L. Smith. This author is one of the most imaginative and intriguing talents I have ever come across. Her creativity knows no limit amd her stories have very few boundaries. No stone is left umturned and it is evident that T. L. Smith goes above and beyond to provide entertaining and beguiling stpries for readers.
Insolent is my favourite of this series. I fell instantly for the leading man, and may have had a little crush on the leading lady. Their chemistry was limitless, their stories unique, each had their own story to tell, and they both spoke to me. Soul deep. They touched the very heart of me. I cannot explain one thing that stood out. It was a collection of things and moments, coming together to give me something unforgettable. 5 stars.
What an amazing book and perfect way to end this great series. Loved these two so much. I really could not put down and needed more of them. Hes a single dad and he is her new boss. With everything that has happened hes not willing to let anyone in and doesnt really want anything to do with her but cna help be drawn to her. Although her past isnt great either but I love that she is a take no crap kind of person! Absolutely great book and characters.
My Second novel by Smith. Another Crimson Elite! I just loved Darby and Blue’s relationship fencing! These two characters wormed their way into my heart and would not leave my mind for very long at all! Wonderfully written, emotional, and very satisfying!
With Insolent T.L. Smith delivers a solid and spicy conclusion to the Crimson Elite series. Darby held on to all his promises and Olympia his perfect match. I really do love Darby, I do love Olympia and I certainly do love them together.
Reading Insolent was great fun and very entertaining. However, I missed the thrill a little, I thought the story overall will catch me more.
