Love had cut me in so many ways I wondered if my heart could take any more. But then I saw him. He was my boss. A single father. And to top it off he was insolent. I didn’t intend to want him, that wasn’t my objective. But somehow I couldn’t say no. We shouldn’t have worked, but like witchcraft, I was under his spell. My heart had been destroyed before, I wasn’t sure it could handle heartbreak … heartbreak again.

This is the fourth book in the series and it brings and end to the men of the Crimson Elite. While it is a standalone, as the reader has a definite sense of who these characters are, I recommend reading the books in order. Darby is the overseer of the business and maintains a somewhat stand-offish quality in his dealings with others. However, when Olympia enters the joint to step in for a friend, she begins to push Darby’s buttons. Not one for losing his professionalism, Darby is in for a shocker as Olympia gives as good as she gets that may very well take him to his breaking point. Filled with emotion and some surprises, this is one book that will have you wanting to go back and start over from the beginning again.
I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
It was entertaining and sexy and a fun distraction from reality. But not good enough to be a favorite or reread again.
I listened to this book on Audible and I loved it! This is a 4 book series but can be listened to as a standalone.
This is Darby’s story and of course I enjoyed it. My complaint is that they are too short, I just want to keep listening! Olympia is a bartender at his club Crimson Elite a private club. She has a sad-tragic past! Darby and her are attracted to each other but he doesn’t get involve with the work. Fast paced storyline and addictive. I love this series and I’m sad that it’s the end of the an amazing hot series.
Again I love the dual reading that was done by Tad Summer Roberts and Rock Engle, they both did a great job of bringing this story to life.
This story will make you cry, so fair warning. I balled my eyes out when we finally discover the pain of Olympia’s past.
Darby is trying to figure out how to be a single father and Olympia is trying to forget her past. Neither has no idea how much they need each other. This is another great book in the Crimson Elite series. There is great steamy scenes and heartbreaking realizations. I absolutely loved this book too!
An emotional, heartbreaking, and heartfelt story. Darby and Olympia are two people with painful past and find something neither of them were looking for. They have a exquisitely beautiful intensity between them. They both put up a fight with their feelings and this starts a push and pull tension. I absolutely adored this book. Actually I have enjoyed every single book in this series, of them are a must read. Great story.
4.5 with 5 STARS OVERALL FOR THIS BRILLIANT SERIES BY T.L SMITH
.
. DARBY’S STORY IS A MUST READ.
This series isn’t what I expected at all, as soon as I learned the 4 guys owned an Elite sex club I had thoughts of BDSM and maybe similar story lines to some books I may have read before BUT that wasn’t the case at all. Although the Crimson Elite own a sex club all the focus is on each character, their backstory and the women who come into their lives with only parts of what is going on with the business, each of the Elite has their own love story to tell, some darker than others.
4 Dark secretive men who each find their own love story. Darby is the last one to fall and I loved his story.
Darby was always the workaholic, the dark brooding alpha moody male and the guys tolerated his moods that’s who Darby is and these 4 guys are like brothers, they are brothers just not related.
You get hints that something is happening with Darby in the previous book and that really left me curious, I just didn’t expect it to be as moving a story as it was.
Darby discovers he has been tricked, conned into getting someone pregnant, at first he thinks she is after his money but there is so much more to this story and it’s heartbreaking.
Darby unexpectedly becomes a single dad while also trying to balance running a business, but he copes and absolutely adores and is very protective over his son.
Olympia, what can I say about Olympia, she’s new on the scene when she steps in as a temporary bar manager at the club, she has backbone, she’s sassy and can take everything Darby throws at her and she even throws her own verbal punches back.
Olympia has her own sad backstory and as the plot develops later you see the whole picture and find out who Olympia really is, which is a woman who doesn’t need to work but works to keep herself busy and around people, a woman afraid of the dark and a woman who has wrestled with grief for two years.
Darby instantly dislikes Olympia instantly with her blue hair and sassy mouth but also there is immediate chemistry between them which begins to sizzle especially when Olympia gives as good as she gets with her bossy and rude boss and then it goes to boiling.
Darby starts to wrestle with himself, he can’t resist Olympia but there is a lot of push and pull before Darby finally gives and the fireworks go off when these two finally get down to business and it’s hot!.
What a heartwarming, heartbreaking and hot romance, INSOLENT was so many things and everything I love in a contemporary read. Insolent isn’t a dark read or a read filled with suspense this is a love story about two people who finally find what they need at the right time and that’s each other.
I loved this series and each book was different to the one before, I loved it more and more as it progressed and I couldn’t wait to get to the last book but also didn’t want it to end.
One negative would be that I felt something missing, I felt it needed something that pulled all the four books together, a longer epilogue or something, all the guys years on down the line, I had question if the Elite club progressed or continued? or questioning that now the guys are all finally with the women they love and there are children on the scene did they move onto something else?, I’m not sure what that final something should be but I just felt that final piece was missing.
Darby’s book could be read as a standalone, the other guys are in some of the scenes but you don’t really need to know their story’s to understand anything in Darby and Olympia’s story but I would recommend reading this series from the beginning.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea.
Oh how I love the world of Crimson Elite! And I think broody, asshole Darby May just be my new favorite.
I wasn’t at all sure where this book was going to go in the beginning when baby mama shows up, and says surprise “I bit a hole in the condom.” I really couldn’t help myself and I had to laugh. I mean really, the possibilities of where this story could go from there!
Workaholic Darby got more than he bargained for with the one night stand that turned him into a father. He also got more than he thought when he finds out Cleo had a heart condition and dies right after giving birth.
I love Darby as a father so much! He takes being a father so serious, and does anything and everything for Charles.
The new blue haired, sassy bartender is more than Darby saw coming. The blue haired beauty was a mac truck headed straight towards him, and the only thing he could do was hold on.
Olympia is outspoken, doesn’t have a filter and has the kindest heart.
Their sexual tension is enough to blow the roof of any building. The push and pull of their relationship kept me begging for more. Olympia and Darby were absolutely on fire!
A horrible accident from her past haunts her so much so that she can’t be in the dark. Darby is just Darby and now he has a baby.
Darby fights his feelings for Olympia while she embraces her’s for him. This is where the Push/pull comes in.
What can I say other than I absolutely love Darby’s book! From the very beginning I was hooked, I mean what a way to start! With each page I just felt like I needed more. The drama, the angst, the sexual tension! All of it just amazing! 5 stars for Darby!!
My heart!
I didn’t think my heart could get ripped out and put back together so many times over in one book.
Darby and Olympia were so perfect for each other. Each with their own pain and heartbreak and yet… They found happiness with each other. I needed Darby to get himself a woman who wouldn’t take his crap and boy did he!
I’ve loved this series so much! It completely derailed my life in the best way possible!

This was such a fun read! I was very impressed with the author’s voice. The way that she was able to fill this story with so many emotions was delightful!
I found the plot of this story very compelling. I sat down and read this in a single sitting because I just had to know what was going to happen. I needed to connect all the dots in this story before my brain could move on to something else. I liked the flow of the story. I liked the foreshadowing embedded in the story. I enjoyed the overall themes of confronting and conquering personal demons as well as opening yourself and your heart up to love in all forms.
I loved getting to know these characters. I think that my favorite thing was the dynamic between the Crimson Elite guys. Their friendship is deep and they are more like family than business partners. The chemistry that they had was riveting. I seriously adored the scenes where those four men were together talking shit with one another. I kind of had a love and hate relationship with the two main characters. There were some things about each of them that I both liked and disliked, but in all honesty, I think that made them feel more real. I understood Darby’s motives and his state of mind, but I didn’t overly connect with his character. Sometimes I thought that he was a little too closed off and a little too much of an asshole without any real reasoning for it. I felt that Olympia’s character was a little more fleshed out. I definitely connected with her more because of her great backstory.
The romance was hot, it was. There was sexual tension and I honestly liked that Olympia wasn’t shy about her feelings for Darby. She wanted him and she wasn’t going to beat around the bush about it. Darby was a little more cautious and reserved with his feelings for Olympia, but that just made the tension sizzle.
Overall, this was a quick, satisfying read that kept my attention and left me wanting more. I enjoyed the epilogue and the way that the story played out. I will definitely be checking out the other books in this series. I loved getting to know the other men at Crimson Elite and I can’t wait to read their stories!
Amazing story! It had all the elements I’m looking for: witty banter, angst, steam, and beautiful moments. Must read!
5 blue stars and my heart on top for Darby and his gorgeous Olympia
I am so torn between my joy and love and grief. Joy because this book did what I was thinking of as impossible. It took the stairs like a champ and climbed up up up and entered the Crimson Elite throne with such ease. Love because I would never have pecked Darbys story to become my favorite but Blue being herself just bluntly caught my heart and made it her residence with Charme and stubbornness. Coming out of nowhere, giving Darby a hard time and great back talk. Adding Darbys little surprise bundle and Blues past, this was a great mix to make me fall for them. Oh my goodness I am so grateful I finally got this read go and finally grief because I couldn’t stop reading and now I am so sad Crimson Elite are all done. They have to come back!!!!
I really enjoyed this story and the deep emotions it evoked. If you followed this series or not, this one is a really good read.
Ohhhh wow!! This was the best book out of all
TCE Series, definitely my most favorite And
that’s saying something because they were all good.
Darby and Olympia ‘s story is one for the books.
Their story will leave you with the feels, I literally
didn’t want it to end.
This was the last book for this series. I loved each and every book so much. This was my favorite book out of the series. I’m happy that Darby got his story and he realized that love actually exists and he can have his forever too. The chemistry and bickering between Darby and Olympia was amazing. I loved the way Darby put his son first before any one even his business. I recommend this series!
Edgy, romantic, witty, and frustrating is all the emotions you’ll feel while reading “Insolent” by TL Smith. This is book 4 in the Crimson Elite series. I was so excited to read Darby’s book. I thought I knew where his story was headed but nope, I was surprised. All the men are back in Darby’s story, Creed, Falcon, and Echo. I love reading their interactions with each other. Four best friends who have each other’s back in life and love. Darby’s journey to love with Olympia the clubs bartender is a journey of trust. Can a guarded heart be easily captured? Can Darby want what his friends have? TL Smith writing is worth finding out.
What a fabulous end to a great series of books that leaves my heart full but a little sad it is over. Darby, in my opinion, was the hardest of the 4 to crack and thrown a baby into the mix and there goes my heart swooning a bit for the tough alpha. TL Smith took my heart on an incredible ride with some crazy intense emotions while reading this and left me completely captured in the story.
I’m so sad to see the end of the Crimson Elite series. All 4 of these men have touched my heart, and I ADORE them!!! Plus the strong, sassy women who helped to tame these men along the way. I LOVED every moment of Darby and Olympia’s story!
T.L. Smith always gives us characters you can’t get enough of, and a storyline that keeps you captivated from the first word. I can’t express how much I loved not only Insolent but the whole series!! I highly recommend it!
Holy smokes. Hands down my favorite book by this author. I knew Darby was going to pack a punch, but…wow. I loved this book so much! I feel like I have been waiting on this book. I am sure the authors intention was to ratchet up the want, and the tension, knowing Darby was going to smoke the rest of them. I just can’t get over this book. Olympia was the perfect match for Darby in every way.
Where Darby stepped back, she stepped forward. There was a lot of give and take with the two. Both had their separate issues they they had to work through, and like any good romance there was tension…so much tension. The world that the author has built with this series, makes you feel as if you are a part of it, it’s so real. This story is told in dual pov, and is for sure a must read. You do not have to read the others to enjoy this story.
Insolent, Crimson Elite book 4 and last of this absolutely brilliant series by T.L. Smith.
Darby’s story has been well worth the wait.
Darby Knox, the big boss, the alpha male who works too much gets a shock when his life changes and he has to put something else before the club. Then theres the blue haired beauty who is getting under his skin, but in a good way.
Olympia Cavanagh, the sassy bartender who doesn’t take any nonsense from anybody, including her new boss that she can’t help but want. She’s no stranger to heartbreak, can she handle another possible heartbreak?
Darby and Olympia’s story is heartfelt, emotional and breathtakingly brilliant. I dont know what made me more emotional – the story or the fact it’s the end of the series.
T.L. Smith definitely saved the best for last.
A fantastic end to the Crimson Elite series.
