Until it all came to a head in college, and one eventful night changed everything.

Full of angst, drama and all the good stuff!
Love love love this book. It’s full of heartache and love. The characters are wonderful and full of emotion…. you feel what they feel
This is one of the stories that makes you cry because you become in tune with the characters. Three friends from childhood, love, misunderstanding, anger and heart break, you couldn’t ask for a better storyline. Although the author took along time telling the meat and potatoes of this story it was still outstanding. Very interesting and heart wrenching story.
I’m still feeling “all the feels” from this book. This is the BEST DA*N BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!! I’m not exaggerating!! This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!! IM YELLING….I CAN’T HELP IT!!!! I FEEL LIKE I WANT TO YELL IT FROM MY ROOFTOP SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT A GREAT BOOK THIS IS!!!!!!!
Ok….now that I got that out, for now. Inseparable is a book of such depth, such emotion, that there is absolutely NO WAY I could have read this in 24 hrs. I mean, give me a RomCom or ChicLit and no problem, but a book like this NO WAY. I needed emotional breaks, breathers. This book is packed full of so much that goes on in the lives of the three main characters. The depth of emotion, it was so beautiful. The subjects this book touched on (and there were a few of them) were so emotional and touching. I want to talk about how well she touched on these subjects, but I can’t without giving anything away. But, Siobhan Davis has shown what a truly skilled writer she is. Touching on some pretty difficult emotions and experiences, and making us feel as if we were experiencing them ourselves. I felt as if I had to stop and catch my breath at times. But the beauty of it is, we are not just being entertained by a beautiful story, but we are learning a little more what people go through and therefore developing empathy for them. Pure magic, that’s what Ms. Davis has performed with her writing…pure magic.
Do yourself a favor and read the story of the Inseparable friendship of three friends, Ayden, Devin and Angelina. You may be like me and yelling out how it’s the best da*n book you ever read!! I have no doubt, I am absolutely sure you’ll love it!!
Broken yet pieced back together even stronger!
The first time I read this book I wasn’t really one to discuss how I felt or even review a book. I didn’t think I had the talent to give books the credit they deserved…so I just didn’t try. I still do not believe I do a very good job of this but I’ve decided to try. I’ve just finished reading Inseparable for the third time and I just can’t hold back anymore. First off Siobhan Davis is the most talented writer I’ve ever read. She draws you into the story, makes you feel like you are a part of it, you feel what the feel, hear what they hear, see what they see and experience every experience just as the characters do.
This story torn me down to shreds then slowly pieced me back together from the inside out. Devins horrible upbringing, Aydens secrets and Angelinas love of both sexy as hell guys. It will take you for a ride like no other. You will be reeling for days afterwards. It’s a must read…I mean I’ve read it multiple times and it never gets old. Don’t take my word for it….grab your copy ASAP!!!!
I stumbled upon this book as a .99 cent Amazon purchase. Best find EVER. Not at all expected. What an insane book. I felt as though I read multiple stories all rolled into one completely fucking awesome book.
This is the first review where I had to wait a handful of days until I was ready to tackle writing it. The story is still sinking in, and I know it is one of those that I will never forget. I even snickered at the thought that Siobhan could have titled this “Unforgettable” and still have been spot-on. Have you ever felt as though you connect with the characters on such a deep level that your brain begins to believe they are actual human beings and it physically hurts when the story ends—AKA the book hangover? Well, this was one of those times for me. It has been too hard to move on with another book, so I have just been binge-watching shows on Hulu while moping around in my pajamas. I will warn you, this is a very emotional read. I found myself needing to go over some scenes a few times because I was crying so hard; therefore, you may want to have a box of tissues handy.
The story focuses on three characters who grew up as neighbors and were inseparable until high school. I am sure you are all familiar with the many obstacles we face throughout our youth which can make or break relationships, and you will experience that and then some while reading this. This is a story of what happens when life gets in the way.
We have Angelina, the ideal girl-next-door, Devin, the sexy bad boy, and Ayden, the all-American dream boy. What I enjoyed the most from Inseparable was seeing how each main character dealt with the issues that get thrown at them. I also loved how these characters are followed over an extended period of time, something that most romance books don’t offer outside of a couple of chapters or so in an epilogue. Not only do we get to see how these characters life choices play out in high school and college, but we also get to see how these decisions shape them as adults. Angelina is obsessed with fortune tellers as a kid, and I compare this story to a fortune teller, showing us possible paths our lives can take and the outcomes. We get to see three main routes the characters choose after hitting rock bottom, and I believe that after witnessing the consequences, many will feel motivated to make some changes in their own lives. I know I did.
The slow-building, friends-to-lovers romance in this book is also one of my favorites. This is not a story of puppy love. This is a story of the kind of love that comes with heartache, sacrifices, and absolute devotion. The kind that includes the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The kind that we all deserve. If only there was a better word to describe how beautiful the romance in this book is.
Now, this story is mostly Angelina’s POV; however, that will not prevent you from feeling connected to the other characters because Siobhan has well-written dialogue to keep us in the others’ minds. Since each main character responds to life so differently than the others, we have very complex individuals and I feel that you will find at least one you can relate to. The character I felt the closest to is currently tied in first place as one of my favorites, and I don’t want to give anything away, but watching this character transform over the years was beautiful. It was rewarding to see them change over time.
For those that are new to Siobhan Davis: if you enjoy reading books where the authors aren’t afraid to cover difficult issues, such as Brittainy C. Cherry, you are going to love this. After this, you must check out Siobhan’s other series!
This is so hard for me to rate! Siobhan Davis’ writing is still super great, and there were parts of this story that I loved. The romance is really sweet, and the depth of feeling between the characters is really wonderful. I guessed early on the twists in the story, but I don’t think they were obvious. The whole Becky thing and what is up with Ayden were clear to me, and I really felt like the characters should’ve been more aware. There’s lots of angst and emotional overload going on in Inseparable, so be prepared for the drama! What I couldn’t stand was I just ended up being so disappointed in Angelina, she makes some decisions that just ruined the rest of the book for me. Her actions were just too much for me, and I just wanted to finish the book; any of the deep connection between the characters felt tainted to me, and I couldn’t appreciate it any more. Angelina has 2 guy best friends, and when they were kids they were really close, but as they age things start getting in the way of their friendship. Angelina loves Devin, but he’s a manwhore and doesn’t think he’s good enough for Angelina, so he continues to push her away. Ayden is the golden boy athlete, and tries to be there for Angelina when Devin seems to be going off the rails. All of these characters made horrible decisions about things, and all were naïve about so many things, but they are teenagers, so it’s to be expected. There’s also a time jump. which I’m never a fan of. There’s lots of disturbing actions in this book, and this characters are quite damaged. I just don’t think I like reading about people degrading themselves so much. This book left me feeling unsatisfied. I so wanted to love it, and I love the premise, but it just took a turn that left me unfulfilled. I think there’s plenty of readers who would enjoy this book, and for most of the book I did enjoy it. As I said, the writing is amazing. I’ll definitely continue to read Siobhan Davis’ books, she’s one of my favorite authors. The book is entertaining and I read it in one sitting, so that proves it’s engrossing. That’s why this was so hard for me to rate!
Have you ever read a book that you wish you could forget so you could read it all over again? That you are jealous when you recommend it to a friend because you know they will get the joy of discovering it for the first time? This is that book for me. Inseparable is one of those rare books that had my heart aching from the first page. It is so deep and rich I slowed my normal rapid reading pace to savior the words. At times it was so emotional I had to stop reading, put it down, and take a deep breath before I could continue.
It is hard to describe the story without spoilers. The story is a coming of age story for three best friends – two guys (Devin and Ayden) and a girl (Angelina) who have been together their whole lives in their small Iowa town. Just like their neighboring houses, Devin calls Angelina “Ange” and Ayden calls her “Lina”. This is not a love triangle but the story of three people trying to love each other and live up to the expectations of their parents, friends, and themselves. The three pledged their faith to each other in blood at age 9 and got matching infinity tattoos on their wrists at age 15. But as they became adults expectations got in the way and their bond unraveled. They are each faced with challenges and have very different responses to them. How some of the challenges were solved was very joyful, some painful and all somewhat unexpected. The prologue pulls you into the story from the first paragraph and you watch it unfold from there. The novel spans 11 years – from high school senior year and beyond. The story is mostly presented in Angelina’s point of view, since she is the narrator and a central part of the story.
This is not your typical young or new adult novel. It has the same feel as Jessica Park’s Left Drowning or Rebecca Donovan’s Reason to Breath. If you are a fan of either one of those books you will love this one. I am a huge Siobhan Davis fan and this book is by far the best she has ever written. 5+++++ stars.
Siobhan Davis quickly won me over with her Saven series, and since then I’ve always been excited to pick up more of her work. She is one of the few authors I’m willing to step outside of my comfort zone with. When she moved from writings young adult science fiction to new adult contemporary, I was worried. Fortunately, I had no reason to fear. Thus, I told myself I was more than happy to embark upon a journey of her first standalone novel. I know some will argue the later Kennedy Boys novels are standalones, but I believe they work best if you’ve worked your way through all the books in the series – thus, Inseparable, being one hundred percent a standalone novel, is what I consider her first true standalone novel. You do not need to have read any of her other work to enjoy this one.
As I said, Siobhan Davis is an author whose development I’m more than happy to follow, even when things step outside of what I tend to enjoy. I’m not the biggest lover of short stories and novellas, but I find myself excited by news of those kinds of stories when Siobhan Davis promises us such a read. I’ve not been the biggest lover of some of her characters, and yet she’s won me over through telling their individual stories (Saving Brad being a prime example of such a change). I’m not the biggest lover of high school drama in stories, but I enjoyed such elements more than I expected when they appeared in the early Kennedy Boy books. Thus, even though there were certain things I knew about Inseparable that did not appeal to me, I was willing to take the dive.
You see, love triangles… I’m not a fan. Not at all. A part of me threatens to shrivel up and die at the prospect. They appear so often in romance, and I really don’t understand why. The ratio of love triangles in novels is so much higher than what I believe it to be in real life. I admit to being slightly jaded – being the unattractive person I am, I cannot grab the attention of a single male let alone two (but such is a self-pitying tangent nobody wishes to hear more about) – but I prefer straightforward romance. I love some good drama, but I often find I enjoy regular drama (or the crazy exaggerated kind) over drama related to multiple love interests. I’ll accept it more in paranormal romance (where reverse harem appears quite often) than contemporary, but I’m not big on such tales. Yet, this was the first standalone novel by Siobhan Davis and I needed to know more, I needed to read it.
The prologue of this one instantly grabbed my attention. It demonstrates how wonderful Siobhan is as a writer. The writing was beautiful, the information enough to leave me wanting more, and I was instantly pulled into the story. Without a doubt, it was one of my favourite introductions to a book in a long time. It was such a beautifully written piece, making it impossible to drag me away from the book.
Then the book is split into three parts. In part one we face one of the things I’m not overly crazy about, having already mentioned it – the high school drama. It was interesting, it was a great set up for the story, but I wasn’t crazy about it. I accepted it in the Kyler arc of the Kennedy Boys because there was a lot of other stuff going on, yet I feel as though it was even stronger in this one. Those who love high school drama will really enjoy part one of this story, but it wasn’t quite for me. Therefore, whilst I was intrigued, I wasn’t won over. Such a thing really saddened me. As I’ve said, I’m a big fan of Siobhan’s work. I wanted to love this one, and part one left me with the fear I would not be enjoying this book as much as I would have liked. It would be a nice solid three-star rating, but it would not be the high I have experienced with her other books.
Along came part two. This is where my feelings towards the story started to change. It moved from being a story I was interested in but not really loving, to being a book I was addicted to. Things started to build up a lot more in the second part of the story, and by the end of it my view had changed from it being a three-star rating to a three-point-five or possibly four-star rating. The latter half of this part of the book really won me over. I was lost to the story, needing more. I could not wait to dive into part three to see how everything came together.
Fortunately, I was happy to devour this book in a single sitting. I dove straight into part three to see how all the elements came together. Without a doubt, the third part of the book was my favourite. Everything came together so well. There were big reveals for all the characters, and even though I had worked every one of them out, I loved the way in which they came out and played together. The third part of the book was so emotionally charged, completely winning me over. Thus, the book became a solid four-star rating. I may have tentative at first, I may have been worried in the early parts of the book, but it won me over in the end. I honestly feared we had reached a literary device Siobhan Davis would not be able to win me over with, and yet she managed it.
I know for a fact that many people will enjoy this book even more than I did. My prejudice against love triangles is to blame for the initial difficulty I had with this story. In fact, I fear my dislike of love triangles clouded my view more than it should have – to the point where I was making parallels with other Siobhan Davis books and thinking it was too close to what has been written before, even though this book stands strong on its own. It is due to this that I did not fall in love with the characters in the way I usually do in a Siobhan Davis read, but I know many people will fangirl like crazy over this one. In fact, I have a feeling there will be many broken hearts and damp eyes by the time some people finish this story.
Because, honestly, this book does deal with many heavy topics. I could list them all, but to do such would be to give spoilers. Just know this book deals with a lot of sensitive issues and I challenge any person not to be affected by something in this story. It is hard hitting, the different aspects will speak to many people, and you’ll soon be lost in the story. As always, Siobhan Davis has done a wonderful job of bringing to light real-life issue and making them known – giving them the respect they deserve, making people stop and think, and leaving us with a heavy heart at the end.
I’m positive many people will go on to call this book their favourite Siobhan Davis read, and I can easily see why people will feel such a way. This is gripping read, one that takes you on an emotional journey. However, sadly, I cannot label this my favourite Siobhan Davis read. I feel as though I’m going to be in the minority with this view, I just do not want people to mistake my statement for a dislike of this book. I did enjoy the story, I’m so glad I read it, as can be seen by my four-star rating, it simply is not my favourite Siobhan Davis read.
There’s no doubt, however, that I will continue to read Siobhan Davis. She won me over in the end when I did not think I would be, proving how wonderful she is as a writer. If you have yet to pick up a Siobhan Davis book, then picking up Inseparable is something you should do. As her first real standalone novel, it stands up so well – making it the perfect introduction to anyone new to her work and serving as a reminder of all she is capable of to her fans.
This book is such an emotional roller coaster ride. And despite hating roller coasters, I throughly enjoyed reading every single minute of it. This book is one that I would never ever go for. However, I just couldn’t resist the blurb and was a lucky fish to get an ARC and Davis did her magic. I loved the characters, the emotions, and became fully involved.
Angelina, Devin, and Ayden for an amazing trio. I love that they had a close bond together. They were platonic, lovers, and then a completely unique bond. Sometimes they reminded me of Harry, Ron, and Hermoine in terms of the close friendship. Also, is it a coindeicence that Hermoine, Harry, and Ron have HRH and the Inseparable gang have ADA? The entire friendship concept was amazing.
I really loved how the book and plot line was set. Yes, it was set over the course several years but Davis did it justice. I like that we get to see the realism of the consequences of the trio’s actions. Also, the pacing was well done. There was tons and drama, push and pull, however, all of it added more to the plot and really made me enjoy it. Plus, there are some pretty fabulous plot twists.
The entire romance in novel was the roller coaster ride. Angelina was like between who to choose and who not to choose. Sometimes it did get frustrating. But I could see what Angelina saw in both boys. I felt that Devin and Ayden put Edward and Jacob to shambles (that’s a praise). I also did not hail some of Angelina’s secrets and lies. I felt that her response was way too reckless, but if I were her I probably would have done what she did. But the plus side was that Davis showed that falling in love ain’t easy. Angelina’s (whoever she chooses) choice won’t be easy and this book demonstrates that relationships aren’t all roses and flowers. There are thorns and nails, but it is through preserving that the happy end is received. I felt that after all that Angelina went through the boy she chooses deserves his HEA.
Overall, this was a really good book. I would have given it five had there been a wee bit less drama. I felt that some parts were just a bit dragged out, however, it was perfectly fine because I overall enjoyed this book. I highly recommend people read it. But not without a box of tissues.
I knew this book was going to be great before I started reading it as Siobhan Davis never fails to deliver an unforgettable story but I was not prepared for the emotional ride that Inseparable would take me on. Siobhan Davis’ cleverly crafted words allowed me to really get to know ‘the awesome-threesome’ and I became so involved in their story that I felt like I’d lost good friends once it had ended. I was unable to stop thinking about them for days after and had to keep reminding myself that Angelina, Devin and Ayden were just fictional characters created by one of my favourite authors.
‘The awesome -threesome will never die. Best friends for infinity. No matter what, we will always be there for each other.’ – Angelina, Devin and Ayden
I loved how Siobhan Davis wrote the story in three parts and each one covered a different time period in Angelina, Devin and Ayden’s journeys. Each one gave you surprises along the way and left you unsure of what was going to happen next. I couldn’t put this book down and I can honestly say this is my favourite book by Siobhan Davis so far. What an amazing first contemporary romance to have written! If you’ve not yet read this breathtakingly and powerful story then I urge you to download it today as you won’t be disappointed.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

This book is HEAVY. It’s full of feels that’ll catch you regularly. It’s not necessarily an easy read because it’s painful, raw, emotional and real. It touches on things that goes on in today’s society that not many like to talk about, and I’m glad this book was written. It was beautifully done in the most nakedly, profound way it could have been. We’re shown how low into despair you can fall and still rise above it, how the power of love and support can help mend you. No matter what you think you are not alone. This book will tragically break your heart, and mend it all in one. It’s one I absolutely recommend. I received this as an arc for an honest review and this is me honest.
Wow, just WOW, this book had every single one of my emotions at full to the point I was a blubbering mess towards the end of the book. This book deals with a lot of issues that were perfectly handled by the way the author wrote them. It is so hard to talk about what is so good about this book without giving spoilers so all I have to say is this is a must read!! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
This was by far the most amazingly complete book I’ve read in a very long time. I usually like to immerse myself in a good series because there is more to them and I can hold on to the characters longer than a standalone novel, but this book delivered every emotion you’d hope for in a good book, and when finished you don’t feel like there should have been more. I loved the characters, the rollercoaster of emotions, the drama, twists, and an extent of how relatable many of their situations are. I was in awe when I finished this book, and I literally had to sit there and reflect because it was that good!
This is a story about love. Love of self, love of friendship and all-consuming love together. This book grabs all your emotions, strips you bare and puts you back together again. Amazing read!
This was the first book by this author, but it certainly will not be my last!
After finishing the story, I was reading her acknowledgements. Yes, I do read the acknowledgements! It’s nice to see who, what and where the author would like to thank and their mindset when they were writing. In Siobhan’s acknowledgements she writes “…if I have done my job correctly, you will have felt all the feels”. Oh my me, did I ever feel all the feels…..
This is the story of three childhood friends, Angelina, Ayden and Devin. This is a story about how things you think are forever and infallible are sometimes not. This is a story of great love, great loss, great darkness and then a great light at the end of the tunnel. I was so heartbroken for Angelina, I was cheering hard for Devin and Ayden could have been my best friend.
This story made me cry (but in a good way, as a fantastic story should), it made me feel things I haven’t felt in a long time and it made me hurt (also in a good way). I truly enjoy a story that will put you emotionally through the wringer and hold your hand through to the other side.
Every different kind of love is explored and brought to your attention in this book. So well written! I really connected to the characters and that is a great testament to a phenomenal book! Well done Ms. Davis, I tip my blogger hat to you! Cannot wait to read more from you in the future!
Davis always has the ability to get me so emotionally invested in a book that I can’t seem to put it down. Her writing is so beautiful and eloquent that when I read the first paragraph, I had to stop and read it to my 15 year old daughter, an aspiring writer. It will probably go down as one of my all time favorite book openings.
Angelina, Devin and Ayden are such complex and interesting characters. As we read about their friendship, their lives, the tragedies and the joys, it’s so easy to get pulled in and feel for these characters as if they were your friends, your relatives. I found myself in tears several times throughout the reading of this book, both happy and sad. You will find immense grief in this book, but also understanding and happiness. You will struggle to make sense of things that happen and feel loss as if it was your own. There are parts in the story that broke my heart, but also parts where you can see the characters learning from their lives and learning to move on. A big theme in this book, moving on. Not that we forget the things that brought us to where we are, we “Always Remember,” and it shapes who we are.
There are very difficult situations in this story that the author has written about with compassion, understanding, and finesse. These things are not easy to deal with, but are common in our world, and unfortunately a lot of times glossed over. I appreciate, very much, the author’s inclusion of some help lines at the end of the book for anyone who might be struggling with similar issues.
If you’re a fan of Siobhan Davis’ work, if you love an angsty NA contemporary romance, if you enjoy reading about second chances in life, you’re going to want to pick up this book.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.*
LOVE this story! Angst, roller-coaster drama, amazing characters and storyline! Definitely picking up thr next book in this series!
I was so heartbroken every time I had to put this book down. I was so invested into this dramatic, heart wrenching, soul crushing, and out right emotional book.
The character development pendulum was real!
I felt the hurt.
Felt the rage.
Felt the betrayal.
And felt the love.
A very dramatic book that pulls you across broken glass and shreds your emotions and fills you with despair. The author knew just how to write a scene that will have you reaching for tissues and wanting to call your best friend.
While I was angry with the situations and personally would’ve handled them differently, I LOVED the turns that the charters took. It wasn’t just some words thrown onto a page. Some scenes were written from experience and that makes them that much more REAL!!!
Thank you for this book. Struggle is real. As were all the emotions I experienced while reading this.
