I can’t refuse him. Not this time.I want to kill Robert Maxim, but I’m going to work with him instead because he can give me something I thought I’d lost forever: freedom from my past. The daughter of a powerful friend is missing in Mexico, and Robert wants me to find her. She’s a fan of mine…an active member on the Joyful Justice website that appeared after my legendary act of vengeance. I’ve … appeared after my legendary act of vengeance. I’ve heard about the site but have no desire to visit it and face the madness I’ve spawned. The basic principal, that Joy Humbolt murdered the Mayor of New York to avenge the murder of her brother, is off by a couple of heartbeats. The members’ fanatical belief Joy is a hero makes me sick.
Robert offered me a pardon for Joy Humbolt, but I’m not that girl anymore. I want her gone, the man hunt to end, and the site’s followers to go away. If chasing a spoiled rich girl through Mexico and the Caribbean is what it takes to end this, I’ll do it. I want Joy Humbolt Dead—forever.
Long live Sydney Rye.

What can I say? I love the Sydney Rye series.
As all Sydney Rye stories, great book. Hard to put down.
Excellent storytelling. Love stories that include man’s best friend.
Even tho some characters were depraved, the heroine had a conscience.
Strong female lead!!
Love Sydney Rye. I’ve read them all. Must read in order.
Just a good read !
Kept my interest
Love all the Sidney. Books!!!
Third in the Sydney Rye series, this story continues on her path of identifying who she can and cannot trust from her past. Sydney is relentless in trying to escape her past, her unwanted worship as a heroine for all and still cope with her friends perceptions.
Sydney is an unlikely heroine whose life is filled with perils and mayhem. Lots of plot twists and twisted characters.
The books just starts out too slow and I just never got into it.
This book has interesting characters and plenty of action. It also has some surprises that kept it interesting. It was an easy to read book.
I thought it was a well written smart book. It portrays strong women and teaches lessons of how to live in a dangerous world.
Once past the first chapter, I really enjoyed the book.
Great series I think I have just found another favorite author.
Joy embraces her new identity as Sydney Rye and she is strong, fierce and independent. She definitely becomes a kickass heroine even if she doesn’t consider herself one. With the help of some new friends, she is making a difference in the world and maybe even history depending on where the job takes her. Without a little drama, life can be a bit …
In this segment of Sydney Rye’s life, she has developed her skills to become a detective in London. Drawn back across the sea by promises of true freedom if she allows Bobby Maxim back into her life. He wants her to help his good friends get their daughter back– if she helps, he will kill off her Joy identity, allowing her to free from …
