“It hurts, doesn’t it?” he whispered, letting me strain to the limit of my bonds, maintaining the distance between us with a smirk. “Being so close to what you need, yet unable to take it. Five years I went without, Mila. But don’t worry,” he whispered, flicking a lock of sopping wet hair over my shoulder. “I won’t make you wait that long. No, you can have everything you want, right now…”It’s … now…”
It’s been five years since I watched the Goddess burn, since I rejected my sacred-bloody-calling and turned instead to the limitless potential contained in the forest. It alone sustains me, feeding those dark, forbidden urges with ancient power.
Not even he can touch me here, where my influence is absolute.
Stalemate or no, Captain Asher Rawlings is a resourceful man, and though it’s been years since he’s so much as set eyes on my face, he hasn’t given up the hunt.
He’ll never stop.
Not until my knees are sullied and my skin is marked.
But he has the one thing capable of luring me from my fortress of ancient power…
… the one thing I can’t resist…

It’s a pleasure how wonderful this follow up to Ravenous Innocence is. The momentum of a great story unfolding has not been lost. It’s a jam-packed, pageturner of a ride, and I am here for it. It’s aptly named for the slow burn that grown, formidable Mila has become. She’s coming into her own with all her relationships no matter how rocky that path is. Mistakes are made, consequences are had, and while it seems like all is lost, there’s hope. While I happily and easily devoured this book in an evening, the aftermath has stayed with me for a few days. Time has been needed to process what was read and where characters stand. Honestly cannot predict what happens next and in a world of rehashed storylines and remade movies, it’s novel. Looking forward to what this author produces next.
Finally the second book is out! This time there is a bit of a time leap from the first book. Five years in the wood, beware to those who dare enter. The next installment of this story has painted a life after they have been invaded. Now it’s all about survival and mysteries.
This book will answer some questions and from there, more questions will come up. I am not disappointed with how the story is going, Mila is a strong character, but needs to learn not to be so careless and reckless. She has a lot power within her, I can’t wait to see her in some action.
I loved this book, and I´m SO looking forward to the next book in this series. If you are looking for an engrossing series with a strong female main charcter, who does not bow down or give in easily, but just keeps fighting against all odds, this is a book for you. I adore Mila´s stubbornness, her aggression and fighting spirit and sheer determination to not, ever, give in or do anything the easy way, which means of course, that the battle between her and Captain Asher Rawlings, the male main protagonist, is on. Can´t wait to see what happens next.
Packed full of drama and adventure. The character interaction between Asher and Mila grew in strides, keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. You did NOT disappoint!!!
Loved it and cant wait for the next installment
It has taken me a few days to read the second book in the Last of the Tritans. When I enjoy books I like to process what is going on and so in the best parts I stop and then come back to read. Insatiable Corrupstion is one of this books that forces me to stop and then come back.
It’s been 5 years since Mila has given herself to the essence of the forest. She is not the same person, she’s arrogant and deranged. For as long as she’s been in the forest she has been fighting a one man war against the Caledonian invaders. In her arrogance and because of her great power she wants to keep fighting on her own and refuses to help her people against the Caledonians. During these years Asher Rawlings hasn’t forgotten her, their link is till strong and he’s hunting her. And he gets her!
Good Lord, this second book is amazing and intense!! Mila is one crazy, strong, awesome heroine!!!! The Captain, not sure if I like him or hate him. Probably both. This story has so many twists and turns and fabulous characters, it made my head spin. I couldn’t put it down but now I am starving for the next one!! Myra Danvers, what a talented author!!!
This book is another awesome addition to my collection of Myra Danvers. I just wish there were more books by this author. I’ve purchased all her work and I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. Insatiable Corruption was a ‘read in one night’ story. Myra writes dark romance but her work is so far above the formulaic stories that permeate this genre. She is a unique world builder while keeping the steam building and plenty of action around every page. Five Stars!
The final left me turning the page and looking for something!!!!
The world building is fantastic and all around the ki is fascinating.
In this book we see and know a little more about the anti hero and really y just hate him, and didn’t like that he made her a slave that was awful for me.
Mila is a strong heroine but so naive, immature, she makes always rash decisions, never thinking or planing and that just makes me nuts. Girl learn from your mistakes!!!
Please learn to control your gifts are end all the Calcedonias for me please. And do it fast !!!
“We all have our war stories.”
“We all have our war stories.” Yes, we do. Those words are just as haunting now as they were when I read them. Myra Danver’s epic sci-fi fantasy that began with Ravenous Innocence continues with Book 2 Insatiable Corruption.
Five years later, and we find Mila aka the “Menace” a changed person. Gone is the daughter of a Tritan senator and in her place is an almost unrecognizable creature of the woodlands who is hellbent on revenge against anyone or anything that threatens her new home. Led by the sadistic General Tilcot and drunk with their new found power/technology, the Caledonian “Elites” are more determined than ever to conquer the rebels.
Mila and Capt. Asher Rawlings paths cross again with somewhat disastrous results depending on how you may feel about Asher. I haven’t quite made up my mind as to whether he really has Mila’s best interests at heart. It’s obvious that he has a secret agenda where Mila is concerned, but I do believe he is trying to protect her the only way he can even if his methods are dubious.
What I am sure of is that Mila and Asher are the key to a foretold prophesy from long ago that will have lasting repercussions for everyone involved. Whether they are good or bad remains to be seen. This story is building towards something spectacular; I can just feel it and the journey to get there is thrilling and suspenseful.
Ms. Danvers’ The Last Tritan reminds me of a sci-fi “Gone with the Wind” with Asher as Rhett and Mila as Scarlett. It is a sweeping saga that captivates, cajoles, and even seduces the reader into wanting more. And I want more!! I cannot wait to see how this will end. Who is going to win, who will lose, and more importantly who will survive? Will the scars inflicted be too deep to overcome? Does the prophesy bring salvation, or will it be the destruction of them all?
The Last Tritan is an amazing story of epic proportions that has taken hold of me and won’t let go. I am enthralled with the world and characters created, right down to the tiniest detail. It feels like an opera that is building to a magnificent crescendo that will command a standing ovation. If you aren’t reading this tale, you should be. I highly recommend this story as well as Myra’s other books. She is a gifted, talented, storyteller that I am so fortunate to have found. Well done Ms. Danvers, well done.
Myra is incredibly gifted with world building, which is something that draws me in and keeps me held as I read. Mila is a savage, wild ride of potential that makes me laugh and want to cry as she works so hard, fails so hard and just keeps on going.
I don’t want to give anything away, as this book is number two in the series, and you really need to read them in order, but it is worth the read. Mila is fierce and strong and still somehow so naive at times. Rawlings is unapologetically focused on what he wants and what he will do to get it.
I had to tear myself away from reading this in one sitting, because, well, real life, but it will suck you in so give yourself plenty of free time for it, and it left me hungry for book 3.
I can honestly say that Myra Danvers is one of my favorite authors. She makes the most amazing characters that you cannot help to love. I really liked the little bits and pieces from the original version and how they are used in this version.
This is continuation of the first book and it begins several years after. Milan has made the forest her home, where is frees Tritan captives from the Caledonian Empire. She does this while evading the last of Tritan repels as they want to use her as a weapon. It all comes together as the notorious Captain Asher Rawlings returns to the forest to finish what he started it years before, to enslave Mila.
It is really captivating to read the battle of wills between Mila and Asher. I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
I’m developing a love/hate relationship with this author! Her books are amazing and the characters so vivid and unique! She pulls you in and then toys with you in the most delicious ways. Everything is unexpected and you’ll never see it coming before she hits you with her greatness. I can’t wait for more! Write faster!

promised myself I would pace myself with this one…. And that resolution lasted the length of the first page. I binge read this like a dirty dirty addict and I feel no shame, only remorse that it’s over. No spoilers but I warn you, Myra has done it again. She’ll pick you up, stroke you gently, coerce you into the story then that’s when she gets you. The vice tightens and you’re gripped, trapped in her wonderful world with a savage named Mila and the raw, brutal, infuriating perfection that is Asher. I feel violated and forever changed in the best way. Do it again please! Please… *eye twitch* I’ll be cool about it this time, I promise! Please…
ugh it ended too soon! cant get enough of this world the author created in this story. the beginning takes place years after where book one had left off with her parting ways with the group. alone and trying to do what she thinks is right. stubborn, headfast, and all too reckless. she seems so sure of things right until things go sour and that’s one of the things I love about this book is that we are so in tune with her thoughts and characteristic. her flaws make her so relatable but Asher understands her perfectly well and he said it best where she is all passion and fury but no experience, no knowledge
theres so much pieces to the puzzle I cant see whole yet in this book, hinting at something to come. her meeting with the other priestess, new information we learn about Asher. OH and that darn ending! it was a good place to stop but omg it just had to end when things were getting crazy. what will her public outburst cause Asher with the captain watching over them?! completely dreading the wait for book three
action, suspense, mystery, and an undeniable connection that I cant wait to be joined and spark some fire!
The second book in the last Tritan series. You can’t read this as a standalone, you need to read this series in order otherwise the story won’t make sense.
It is hard to write a review because I don’t want to spoil anything. Myra Danvers has created this unique world with interesting characters. a lot is also left to the imagination of the reader
The story picks up 5 years after the first book ends. We see how time and to much power has influenced Mila. I was rooting for her, but also kept thinking “don’t act so rash, take a minute to think”. I haven’t made up my mind yet about Captain Rawlings, but i like him for the most part.
I was eagerly awaiting this next installment in The Last Tritan series and I wasn’t disappointed. This book focuses mostly on Mila’s journey but, for me, captain Rawlings is the star of the show. He stole my heart in book one and I am still team Rawlings. Having said that, Mila is an awesome strong heroine and I can’t wait to see where Ms. Danvers takes her character. As always with this author’s work, the world building is truly remarkable. This series is a must read even for those who normally don’t enjoy the genre.
Argh, I’m hooked! The way Myra Danvers weilds imagery and out-there characterisation is like that of a master of fencing – with grace, fluidity and incredible talent. Myra has come a long way from when this series was first written on Lit, and I LOVE the subtle (and not-so-subtle) changes she has made. Everything is so captivating, the world and it’s laws so original, it had really opened up that fandom-addicted part of me that wants to learn everything about how everything works and it’s so enthralling!
Mila is a gripping character; she has been such since the first book in the Last Tritan series, but seeing her evolution from the previous book to this one is … wow. I can’t wait to read the next books! Captain Rawlings is a marvel of a character, too! Simply twisting!! He makes you want to love him even if you hate him! He makes you want to hate him too, to be honest, and it makes reading this series so thrilling! And Marco, dear Marco!
I need the next book already! And I hope it never ends!
Myra Danvers does it again! She builds upon the world she created in book one and takes it to new heights! I love how dark and gritty Mila has become! I hope you have nothing to do when you pick up a copy of this series, because you will do ABSOLUTELY nothing until you’re done!! Highly recommend reading for anyone who enjoys getting lost in a fantasy world with hot, muscled Caladonians and beautiful blonde Tritans…so yummy!!
Myra has once again brought her readers to their collective knees. We can do nothing but bow before the Great Creator of the Last Tritan and beg for more.
Mila has flaws that are exploited and the plot thickens between the erstwhile Captain and our Heroine. What will happen to their relationship? Will Mila be able to control her self-destructive behaviors enough to learn how to defeat her Nemesis? We will have to wait and see….
