“It hurts, doesn’t it?” he whispered, letting me strain to the limit of my bonds, maintaining the distance between us with a smirk. “Being so close to what you need, yet unable to take it. Five years I went without, Mila. But don’t worry,” he whispered, flicking a lock of sopping wet hair over my shoulder. “I won’t make you wait that long. No, you can have everything you want, right now…”It’s … now…”
It’s been five years since I watched the Goddess burn, since I rejected my sacred-bloody-calling and turned instead to the limitless potential contained in the forest. It alone sustains me, feeding those dark, forbidden urges with ancient power.
Not even he can touch me here, where my influence is absolute.
Stalemate or no, Captain Asher Rawlings is a resourceful man, and though it’s been years since he’s so much as set eyes on my face, he hasn’t given up the hunt.
He’ll never stop.
Not until my knees are sullied and my skin is marked.
But he has the one thing capable of luring me from my fortress of ancient power…
… the one thing I can’t resist…

This book picks up after the events of Ravenous Innocence. Mila is on the run and Captain Rawlings is on the hunt for her.
I devoured this book in one sitting because it’s very fast-paced and action-packed. There’s more world building in this one and we get a glimpse into the Caledonian way of life.
I like how Mila has flaws – it makes her seem more “real” and relatable. She’s definitely very stubborn and I can see that aspect of her personality getting her into a lot of trouble, but it also makes it more fun to read! I’m still torn on how to feel about Asher. He seems like the worst kind of villain at some points but he also seems more human at other points. Only time will tell! I can’t wait for the next installment as I’m sure more will be unveiled. Definitely give this series a go – you won’t regret it!
Book 2 is the perfect follow up to the first book in the series. Now that the world has been built and we’ve got some backstory we get into the meat. There are still many questions that have to be answered in the future, many what’s and why’s and I know having them answered will blow my mind. I went through a roller coaster of emotions and we’re still only at the beginning of the series, can’t wait to see what future books hold. 10/10 recommend
An excellent follow up to Ravenous Innocence
I sat and read this in one go. In a non-stop, ignoring-the-world, can’t-put-it-down-until-I’ve-got-to-the-end kind of way. Yet despite all that my brain can’t formulate words adequate enough to do this book justice. I’m struggling to write a review that expresses just how much I loved this book, enjoyed it and wouldn’t change a single thing about it. Not even when those ‘things’ didn’t go the way I wanted them to!
Mila is so strong, though in her naivety? foolishness? isolation? madness? she seems to never learn from her mistakes and over estimates her own cunning. Yet I still loved her and so want to see her succeed. I was equal parts frustrated by how far she fell, yet awed by her strength and determination never to give up, give in or surrender.
At times reading this felt like swimming against the tide, BUT NOT IN A BAD WAY! Just in a ‘everything’s going down the pan’ kind of way. It was never slow or boring, never repetitive or tedious, not once, not at all. In fact there was an awful lot happening, lots of twists and turns, lots of intrigue and not knowing who to trust, virtually non-stop action in fact. And amidst all of that is Mira, fighting a seemingly unwinnable battle, and struggling in vain against her nemesis, Captain Asher Rawlings.
At times I really disliked that man, I mean really, really , disliked him. Disliked him to the point of wanting him hurt in a myriad of untold and painful ways. Yet, as with the best of antiheroes, there was the occasional tiny little glimmer of something else, something better, maybe even something close to caring.
Oh and the world building – I haven’t even touched on the amazing world building within these pages. Boy oh boy, am I hooked on this series. I have absolutely no idea how it will proceed from that doozy of an ending. I do know I will be reading the next book in the series and it can’t come out soon enough for me.
To be honest this book isn’t what I would usually pick to read. With that said, I really loved it. Mila is fighting to save herself and her people. She is in plot for revenge.
She frustrates me on not bending for the greater good. In the long run it would help her cause.
Still can get enough of the book. Just not knowing what is going to happen with this world is good motivation to get through the frustration.
Great job Myra for getting me addicted to this world.
Insatiable Corruption is the second book in the thrilling Last Tritan series. In the first book (Ravenous Innocence) we were introduced to Mila and Asher and how their lives are intertwined by a chance meeting in a busy market place. Fast forward five years and we learn that Mila has been living in the forest gaining power. She has become an Empath and is at times reckless with the power she wields. What she needs is guidance, plus her mothers pendant that Asher has in his possession. And what of Asher? He has been waiting patiently for her, knowing that she has been hiding out in the forest. And what happens when they reunite?. It is not all hugs and kisses, more like name calling and bruises. He wants to own her and she wants her freedom. You get more glimpses that Asher is more than what he seems, his unique power that he keeps in check. And Mila being the Last Tritan is kept a secret between them. Cannot wait for Book 3 to continue their tumultuous relationship.
“This one’s a neat little bundle of crazy.”
This is the second book in The Last Tritan series, and you need to read Ravenous Innocence first. This talented author writes the most amazing, descriptive, quirky books which suck me into her imaginative worlds and hold me there until the last page. I adore both Asher and Mila (and let’s be honest, Marco has grown on me) and love to watch them try and outwit each other-sometimes for fun, sometimes for survival. The book is fast-paced, superbly written, and has a plot like a chess game. There’s some excellent story-telling to be had, so get started on this series pronto.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest opinion.
Worth the wait!
Another great addition in to this fantastic world and the characters within.
Mila a strong, complex woman and the ongoing complicated relationship with the Captain are intriguing to follow. Lots of action, twists and turns, and a compelling read!
Myra Danvers delivers again in Insatiable Corruption. The second installment in her The Last Tritan series leaves nothing to be desired. Witty dialogue? On point. Twisty plot lines? Done. Kick ass heroine? Watch out. Antihero we all hate to love? Present and accounted for. While this book does end in a cliffhanger it keeps you guessing on what to expect and thirsty for more.
This book is so freaking good! I swear the way this author writes is so insanely good, that I DEVOURED this book in one sitting! I am like a fiend with a drug addiction knowing I have to wait for the next book! There are really good authors out there, but this one is starting to become one of my absolute favorites!
This is the second book in the series and follows Mila. It is also set about 5 years after the first book. But there is a reason for this. And if you read the first book (which I recommend doing so you don’t get confused) you may have an idea why. But you also get to find out what has happened to a lot of the people that you may have been wondering about in the first book! Seriously the world building in this book is so insanely good, and the characters truly come to life. You either hate them or love them, but they are all great!
The Enigma of Captain Rawlings!
I know, I know! This book is about Mila! The second book in Myra Danvers’ The Last Tritan series, Insatiable Corruption, continues our journey into the mind of Mila and those she is trying to save and kill.
Do you need to grab the first in this series, Ravenous Innocence? YES!!! First, so you can understand WHY Captain Rawlings is sooo very important in Mila’s life, and second, because, well, Captain Rawlings!!!
Myra Danvers creates a unique world, NEVER seen before. And the heart, soul, and ki, are so very powerful that we would willingly share ours to be able to stay in this world for as long as possible.
