Robin Patchen is a story weaver. Her characters come to life and draw you in. Get ready to read far into the night.
Another page turner from Robin Patchen. Eric and Kelsey were married. Shortly afterward, Kelsey went to find her sister. They were both kidnapped and made slaves to men. Kelsey was bought by Carlos. She managed to escape and has been on the run hiding from him and his men. She had a child and he was with her. She is passing through the town where Eric is a detective and he finds her. But Carlos will not give up looking for them. A very exciting conclusion to this novel.
Great ending to the series!
wonderful story and characters. Enjoy and be inspired!
How can you say you love a book when it is on human trafficking? Well, when the bad guys get what they deserve, the hero and heroine get each other, and a big happy family comes together! Lost-love, found-love, terror, the unthinkable, fury, fear, romance, happiness, children’s laughter, southern charm…this book has it all…dont miss this one, or any in this series…or any by this amazing author!
I think I like this one a whole lot. It is quite the thriller! Couldn’t put it down till finished. I’m glad the bad guy got his just reward & there is an HEA. This is a good series. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary review.
Robin Patchen always creates a page-turner, but I fell in love with the plight of the main character and the opening chapter had me in tears. Innocent Lies opened my eyes to the dark aspects of sex trafficking from a different perspective and had me cheering for the main characters.
Choices, lies, innocence stolen, lives destroyed. In this book of the series we get a small glimpse at human trafficking, well at least the results and impact on one of the group. Its been 10 years but she knew that he was the safest place for him. She has so many secrets, if she lives to tell them it will be a miracle. He has a few surprising up his sleeve that he has kept from the group as well. By the time it’s all out this author has once again given you new characters to love and dissect along with plenty of action. I have not experienced this author prior to this series and I must say I have truly missed out. Every book in the series has been extremely well written with carryover characters and awesome plots. If I ever get in trouble this is the group of friends to have. It is a thrill to read a mystery/thriller that keeps you going from start to finish and is a clean read. Oh what a joy it is!!!
Innocent Lies by Robin Patchen
Hidden Truth Series Book Four
Eric Nolan is an officer in the small town of Nutfield, New Hampshire. His life had taken a turn for the worst ten years ago—a secret none of his friends or coworkers know about here. Thankfully, he has Magic, a dog that needed him as much as he needed her when he found her on the road. But his quiet, lonely life is about to change…in big ways.
Kelsey has been running for a long time. And she can’t stop…yet. She has to protect the people she loves. That includes finding a safe place for her son, Daniel. As long as she knows he’s safe, she can finish her mission to stop a bad man who has destroyed so much of her life…and her family’s.
Great series. The author takes the reader through so many twists and turns—through so many emotions. I love that she always has different points of views from not only the main characters, but also secondary ones.

When Eric sees Kelsey, his lost wife for ten years, in Nutfield Police Ofice he can’t help but be shocked. Everybody except him thought her death after she tried to rescue her sister Danielle from Carlos, a women trafficker. She is been on the run trying to keep her son Daniel safe, but now that she is Nutfield she is putting Erc and all his friends in danger while they try to catch Carlos and save Kelsey and her son’s life. Can Kelsey and Eric solve the imagery and have a chance to be together again? You can’t put the book down until the end.
I loved this book because of the fast paced action, the lovable characters, the interaction between Eric and Kelsey and the little boy Daniel. I hated having to put the book down because I didn’t want to wait on the next page. Eric finds 8 year old Daniel in a snow storm. His thoughts about any mother that would leave a child out in this kind of weather to freeze would be unprintable if this wasn’t a Christian book. Eric is in for a tumultuous time with Daniel and when Kelsey comes back into his life. There is plenty of action, suspense and trying to stay one step away from danger.
This is only the second book I’ve read by this author but definitely won’t be my last. Two books in a row & I’m hooked on her style of writing Christian Romantic Suspense. She just went on my “favorite authors” list. These are authors are ones that I buy their books by author’s name & not by title.
