Lieutenant Eve Dallas hunts for the killer of a seemingly ordinary history teacher—and uncovers some extraordinary surprises—in this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series.Eve Dallas doesn’t like to see innocent people murdered. And the death of history teacher Craig Foster is clearly a murder case. The lunch that his wife lovingly packed was tainted with deadly ricin. And … tainted with deadly ricin. And Mr. Foster’s colleagues, shocked as they may be, have some shocking secrets of their own. It’s Eve’s job to get a feel for all the potential suspects—and find out why someone would have done this to a man who seemed so inoffensive, so pleasant…so innocent.
Someone Eve could easily picture dead is an old flame of her billionaire husband Roarke, who has turned up in New York and manipulated herself back into his life. Consumed by her jealousy—and Roarke’s indifference to it—Eve finds it hard to focus on the Foster case. But when another man turns up dead, she’ll have to keep in mind that both innocence and guilt can be facades…

I Enjoy all of the “In Death” series
I like the series. The mysteries, including this one, are inventive.
Loved it.
I have read JD Robbins “In Death” series! The characters are repeated in the series & you get to know them like family. The stories are set in the future with many electronic advancement actually being used now. I have loved The “In Death series” since “Naked In Death “!
I have never read a J.D. Robb book I didn’t enjoy. I love the characters and their growth. I enjoy the give and take and sometimes push and shove between Dallas and Roarke. I usually do not like future settings in books but this is close enough to now that the changes seem like something that will happen soon that it isn’t off putting for me. Dallas is a one of a kind, tough broad with secret wounds as is Roarke, they save each other over and over again while hunting down seriously twisted killers. If you haven’t read any, I’d start at 1 but you’ll enjoy any of the books either way if you like police mysteries with the twist of being in the future.
I love all of the “In Death” books and this is one of the best.
Read most of this series and often re read as I enjoy them so much. Wonderful main characters.

J D Robb is my go to author,Nora Roberts of course,. I’ve never been disappointed or unsatisfied with any of her books. She just keeps getting better and better as time goes by. I highly recommend any and all of the” In Death “ books. It’s a great read everytime.
I highly recommend all of JD Robb’s books.
I really like the interaction between Dallas and Peabody. I don’t know why some are not made into movies. I,also, think Eve Dallas not getting all the slang and jargon is funny. Some of the plot twists are unpredictable, too.
I love all of J.D. Robb’s books
This author can NOT write anything that I don’t like. She’s the best.
I love the Eve Dallas series by JD Robb. I am always looking forward to the next one.
I read all of Robb’s book. This was another great read
One of my favorites of this series! I love the tension between Dallas and Roark! Unbelievable series, she doesn’t write them fast enough hence the rereading of the favorites.
