Lieutenant Eve Dallas hunts for the killer of a seemingly ordinary history teacher—and uncovers some extraordinary surprises—in this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series.Eve Dallas doesn’t like to see innocent people murdered. And the death of history teacher Craig Foster is clearly a murder case. The lunch that his wife lovingly packed was tainted with deadly ricin. And … tainted with deadly ricin. And Mr. Foster’s colleagues, shocked as they may be, have some shocking secrets of their own. It’s Eve’s job to get a feel for all the potential suspects—and find out why someone would have done this to a man who seemed so inoffensive, so pleasant…so innocent.
Someone Eve could easily picture dead is an old flame of her billionaire husband Roarke, who has turned up in New York and manipulated herself back into his life. Consumed by her jealousy—and Roarke’s indifference to it—Eve finds it hard to focus on the Foster case. But when another man turns up dead, she’ll have to keep in mind that both innocence and guilt can be facades…

Luv J.D. Robb
good read hard to put down
I very much enjoy the interaction of the main characters as they solve the crimes, which is always murder. Each book is complete in itself
Although some of the crime are very grisly, the focus is on the solving of each case and again the interaction of the main characters. Have read every single book.
I love the Eve Dallas series, and wait impatiently for the next one to come out!
As I read all the in death books this one was really good had you engaged right until the last page. Highly recommend these books.
I like all the J.D. Robb books. Can’t wait for the next.
Another great page-turner from J D Robb. I adore Eve’s witty responses. Side-stories moved the action along. A solid addition to the “In Death” series.
Love this series. I’ve now read them all and can hardly wait for the next one.
Eve Dallas rocks.
Eve is forced to prove who the killer is to all her colleagues as no one agrees with her findings.
For all that the element of this particular killer in this book is unbelievable, this is one of my favourites due to the appearance of Magdalena, an old and special flame of Roark’s.
The hiccup this puts in Eve and Roark’s relationship is truly one of my favourite reads. Even Summerset has a say. The ending especially has Eve’s particular brand of finesse to it.
The deaths of both Foster and Trevor are terribly sad.
I own every book in this series and I love rereading them, it is my go to for some relaxation.
I loved it but I love anything by JD Robb
Great read fast paced. Very original thinking for a great book.
All that can be said is “WOW!” Hard to put down.
