Big mistake.

Bella’s family has owned The Hidden Glen Inn for generations and she and her grandfather are at their wit’s end trying to save it. Neighboring towns and the local competing Bed & Breakfast have taken a toll and the once profitable Wine Festival has suffered for it. Bella is not having a good day. Plumbing issues, another B&B offered a vendor more money and highjacked their tables & chairs for the festival, their rooms are getting canceled at an alarming rate, a hateful YouTube reviewer chooses now of all times to pay a visit, she is covered in oil from her car and the only good thing is her running into and flirting with the handsome man she ran into (literally) at the coffee shop. As expected the Festival was horrible. Vendors had canceled and she was mortified that their only option for seating were bails of hay and wine casts for tables. Not that it mattered, attendance was embarrassing. If that wasn’t enough the handsome stranger was there and had disparaging words for the planner of the festival and her grandfather’s bed and breakfast. Josh was outraged that his dad had dragged him from Manhattan to look at a money pit of a bed and breakfast. Especially when he finds out that his father has purchased it without any discussion and then proceeds to tell him that he is sending his son to live here for a year to get it profitable. He sure didn’t want to be here and if the nightmare accommodations they gave him were any indication, neither were they. The deteriorating cabin didn’t look like it had been enhabited in a hundred years. God, he missed Manhattan.
This book grabs you from page one. The characters are well developed and you get to know their personalities immediately. I love the chemistry between Belle and Josh. The sexual tension is wonderful. Josh also learns that maybe Manhattan isn’t what he wants after all. Although the end is tear-jerking, Belle and Josh overcome all their obstacles I highly recommend not only this book but anything written by R. S. Elliot.
INNKEEPER AND THE BOSS – 5 stars
The final book in this collection was a true gem.
After the death of her parents and grandmother Bella and her grandfather run The Hidden Glen Inn that has been in the family for generations. It is Bella’s dream to some day take over for her aging grandfather but times are changing and business isn’t as good as it used to be. Bella knows she needs to update things but finances are tight. When her grandfather makes a drastic decision without consulting Bella she is left devastated, and having to work with the last person on earth she expected.
Joshua Sterling is a workaholic like his demanding and controlling father. When his father requires Josh come with him to visit an Inn he’s considering buying Josh is left baffled. It isn’t the kind of property they typically invest in. Days later Josh is left stunned at his father’s newest order. But Josh quickly realizes he is up for the challenge, and he’s hoping a certain red headed beauty will be there by his side. Yet, Josh may be about to learn he shouldn’t make assumptions for other people.
I really wish this book had been edited for typos better. It seemed the last 20% was only skimmed over and many things overlooked – like the horse named Bluebell referred to on the next page as Bluebonnet.
Big city boy and small town girl
Innkeeper and the BOSS is the fifth book in the Billionaire’s Obsession series and is the story of Josh Sterling and Bella Godwyn. Josh is part owner of the family company Sterling Enterprises and lives in NYC. Bella is the General Manager for the family owned and run Hidden Glen inn. Actually it is her grandfather Scottie who owns it. The inn is not doing well no matter what Bella tries in marketing it. So he lists it for sale and Josh and his father fly out for a weekend to check it out as his dad is interested in buying it. Josh is all about the big city with a life that revolved around work and then convenience. That includes his girlfriend, their dates, his working out, etc.
His Dad likes the inn and decide to buy it. But as Josh had made more than a few derogatory comments about the inn he has to stay there and get it into shape. Let’s just say that big city boy does not take well to small country town living. At the same time you have Bella who did not know that her beloved grandfather had listed the inn for sale. She has grown up there so it is home and the long term employees are family to her. Once Josh is there he starts to see another way of life and values.
Bella and Josh have a chemistry this does sizzle and spark. They also have a rivalry that ends up with a lot of witty banter between them. For the most part though the story does not materialize between them past the liking of each other and a few make-out sessions, so that was disappointing. One thing that did irk me is that Josh has a long term girlfriend when he travels to the inn but that does not stop him from kissing Bella. I really don’t like that as he does not see it as cheating, you know because they did not do anything else right, like WTH???
Even with the few things that irked me I still liked this story. It is a charming and fun story with some great characters who are a family by choice and love, which Josh becomes a part of.
Josh’s father mentions to him an interest in an Inn in the country. Josh isn’t happy when they go to look into it and especially as he is the one to stay and make sure its up and running properly for his family. Bella has been helping her family run the Inn so when she learns that its going to be sold she doesn’t know what she’s going to do. When she meets Josh sparks fly between them but she pulls away when she learns its his family buying the Inn. Josh hadn’t mentioned to Bella that he has a girlfriend and things had heated up between them. Things are getting complicated with his girlfriend because she feels he isn’t giving her enough attention. Josh is torn between his life in Manhattan and his life in the country. Will he be able to stay and work the Inn? What will Bella do when she finds out about his girlfriend?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
