Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins Book 1The Montgomery Ink saga from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a steamy new series. Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, … husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.
Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.

When Annabelle married her best friend, it may not have been romantic love but that didn’t mean she didn’t love him. This was the one thing that she could do that would bring him peace and if she had to do it again she would make the same decision even if it brought the same outcome.
Jacob has nothing but contempt not only because Annabelle married his but because of what happened after he passed away. When he moves back to his hometown finding out she was his neighbor was difficult enough but his attraction to her was a complication he didn’t need.
Annabelle is a woman who always put the needs of those she cared about before her own while Jacob is operating on misconceptions when it comes to Annabelle. As always family plays a big part in the story as Jacob and Annabelle have challenges not only from the past but in present as well.
I loved Annabelle and Jacob. When they were younger they were friends as she was best friends with his brother. When his brother passed he held anger at her for not having the time he wanted with his brother in the end. There were things that he didn’t know were going on and he felt that she married his brother in the end just to get attention. Annebelle has missed her friend since he passed and she misses the friendship she lost with Jacob as well. She has been living her life working at the family business. When Jacobs mom gets sick he returns home and the two of them end up in close proximity to each other. They have a lot of issues to work through and slowly that happens. Neither plan on the feelings that start to form between them. I loved watching these two find each other. Then his ex comes to town and things take a hard turn. Will Jacob be able to realize what he has with Annabelle and find their HEA? Great read and characters.
This is the 1st book in this new Montgomery Ink series and I really enjoyed it.
Anabelle was excited to meet her new neighbour when they move in until she realises its Jacob her ex brother-in-law. A man who hates her until he finds out the truth regarding her marriage to his brother.
I really did adore these two and their connection. There s a fine line between love and hate. Their story is filled with love, lust, steam, pain, forgiveness and family. It was all-consuming and I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series plays out.
My first impressions of Jacob left me wanting to shake the emotionally repressed lawyer. Annabelle on the other hand has an incredible inner strength and passion to help those she loves that immediately drew me in. The heat between them once Jacob starts to understand the real events of the past and the need to protect his future is scorching. Naturally the Montgomery siblings certainly bring that great layer of protectiveness and family love that made me chuckle throughout the book. Such an amazing start to a new series!
Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married her best friend, not for love but for hope. When he died a few weeks later, Annabelle convinces herself she doesn’t need to feel those sentiments again. Jacob Queen vows never to set eyes on his former sister-in-law, Annabelle, ever again. Jacob blames Annabelle for stealing what little time he had left with his brother before he died. Jacob and Annabelle are both shocked and surprised to learn they are neighbors. Jacob has moved home to Fort Collins to help his dad care for his sick mother. Jacob treats Annabelle poorly at his parent’s home. When Annabelle leaves, Jacob is set straight by his parents about what happened all those years ago when Annabelle married Jacob’s brother. Jacob goes to apologize to Annabelle, and passion sparks between them. Annabelle and Jacob agree to keep things casual between them. What happens when feelings change the dynamics of the relationship between Jacob and Annabelle? Will Jacob walk away from Annabelle because of his fears and insecurities? Will Jacob realize that he loves Annabelle before it is too late? Can Jacob save Annabelle after she has been kidnapped? Will Jacob and Annabelle find their happily ever after? I LOVE Carrie Ann Ryan! Carrie is a MUST read author for this reader. Inked Persuasions is a fantastic book with great characters who will make you laugh out loud one minute and shake your head in frustration the next. Inked Persuasion has chemistry, passion, family, drama, danger, and a happily ever after. I would highly recommend getting Inked Persuasion by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
Inked Persuasion is the story of Anabelle and Jacob. This is another part of the Montgomery Family Tree and just as entertaining to read. You briefly get introduced to this group of Montgomery’s in the other series but now we get our first look at this group of siblings. This is the story of Anabelle and Jacob and how their story already started years ago. Anabelle was married to Jacob’s brother but there was more to the story then understood by him. This story encompasses the development of their relationship, family struggles between the siblings and their dad and also a horrifying part where Anabelle is fearing for her life. The interplay of all the siblings is great and the development of Jacob and Anabelle’s relationship is part endearing and part explosive. I’m very happy we get more Montgomerys!
Emotionally thrilling, sweetly sexy and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. A highly entertaining and exciting journey from beginning to end and so hard to put down. Loved it!
** spoiler alert ** This one was absolutely heartbreaking, i think i was crying through most of the book. And just when i think i’m recovered i get hit in the chest again. I have a brother in the military so that bit at the end really hit me. But i loved this couple and can’t wait for more from this series
Four and a half stars
Inked Persuasion by Carrie Ann Ryan is the first in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins spin-off, and is about Annabelle Montgomery and Jacob Queen. Nearly a decade ago, Annabelle married Jonah Queen, to fulfill a dying friend’s most cherished wish and to bring some light and hope to a family and situation that sorely needed it. Now her late husband’s brother is her neighbor, and maybe there’s a possibility for something more.
Inked Persuasion is bursting with Carrie Ann Ryan’s signatures–deeply loving and all-up-in-your-business family and friends who are like family, tangled and heartfelt emotions, tricky situations to navigate with people they love and people who ostensibly love them…
Inked Persuasion stands alone well, but it’s likely you’ll look forward to more the Fort Collins’ Montgomery family’s tales, and be inspired to pick up some of the original Montgomery stories as well!
This is the first book in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins spin off series. In this first one we are introduced to Annabelle Montgomery and her siblings. Annabelle married her best friend years ago, just to try to give him some happy memories. And when she lost him weeks later, she made the choice not to put herself through that kind of heartache again. When she finds out that her new neighbor is her ex-brother in law, it brings up emotions that she thought she had worked through long ago. Jacob had vowed never to see Annabelle again after what happened when his brother died. But when he is forced to be around her, he finds out that everything he thought about the past was wrong. Now he has to come to terms with not only his guilt over it but also the feelings that he has that he never acknowledged.
I absolutely loved this one! Annabelle made a hard decision when she was little more than a child. But the fact that she did it, and everything she went through because of that choice just showed how strong and caring she truly is. Jacob also went through something heartbreaking and I completely understand how he could throw blame around the way he did. I loved that once he found out that he was wrong, he stepped up and actually admitted his faults and apologized. How often do people actually apologize when they are wrong? These two are perfect for each other. The chemistry was hot, they actually got along outside of the physical, and I loved the side characters as well! Perfect way for a new Montgomery series to start!
Inked Persuasion is the first in the Montgomery family of Fort Collins. This family is huge when you take in all the many books that are centered around them. I love it! Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to write strong, independent, well-developed characters. Sometimes, when authors stick to one family, it gets tedious over time. The Montgomery family isn’t one of them. They get better with time. Inked Persuasion is a must read for sure. I received this book in exchange for an honest review
Inked Persuasion is start of a new series Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins. I’m so excited, that I’m getting more of the Montgomery Family to love. This story is so emotional, it has a bit of drama, enemies to lovers, and lots of family. Jacob and Annabelle have a complex situation, but one thing they can’t deny is their chemistry. I liked the secondary characters, they added the comical aspect to the story. I can’t wait to read some of their upcoming stories.
Carrie Ann Ryan readers are going to love this emotional, enemies-to-lovers romance that kicks off a brand new series!
Jacob & Annabelle’s story was a great way to start a new series. It’s a wonderfully story about 2 individuals who have a past that was filled with anger, hurt feelings and lots of misunderstandings. With a simple hello to the new neighbor, they find themselves crossing paths once again. In fact, they are next door neighbors. Annabelle wants to leave the past in the past and make peace. Jacob, on the other hand, is just not so sure he can do that. Annabelle decides to try to talk it over. Jacob is still not sure what to think. So, Annabelle just tells him what is on her mind and walks away. That is what he needed to get his head on straight. And, he decides to figure out how to make things work. She doesn’t make it easy for him. I loved that. Ever so slowly, their walls start to crumble and the chemistry between them starts to heat up!!! Of course, this is where Carrie Ann throws in a twist!! Which they must decide how to handle to get to their HEA. And also true of Carrie Ann Ryan stories, they have an ecollective group of friends and family to help them along their path. Great story and characters. Can’t wait to read the other stories in this series!!!
You won’t be able to put this emotional, enemies -to-lovers romance down!
Nothing better then reading about the Montgomery’s. And here we have a new series filled with new Montgomery’s (gotta love it). Annabelle is the middle Montgomery (two older twin brothers, a twin brother a few minutes younger, and younger sister), who works hard with her siblings with the occasional girls night out. The siblings all work together in their family construction business, going about their business. When Annabelle meets her new neighbor one night, she’s floored, literally, by who he is. Someone from her past, someone who does not like her. Jacob is just as shocked as she is. His feelings (again, not good) are intense, so things are stressful for a bit. Little by little, the past gets explained, straightened out, and they decide to move on. And move on they do. They are cute and fun together, until Jacob lets his brain & thoughts get in the way. But when danger comes knocking, he sets his head right and does what needs to be done. I liked Jacob a lot, though I’m not gonna lie, I was wanting to smack him some. And Annabelle has a strength to her that you can’t help but admire. I can’t wait to read the next Montgomery in the series!
’m going to make it short and sweet so you can go ahead and get started on this book. It has everything, hate, passion, family drama, tension, enemies to lovers, relationships, you name it. I love the Montgomerys, all of them and Carrie Ann never disappoints. I just hope she keeps writing these amazing books forever. Okay, you may now proceed with your reading . Enjoy
Annabelle and Jacob’s lives have been entwined for most of their lives. Although Jacob has hated Annabelle for most of it, unfortunately he has twisted his grief into something horrible. After all of the confusion has been cleared, Jacob and Annabelle can not help to give into their attraction.
This is another great book that has many twists and unexpected turns that keep the book interesting. I can not wait to read the rest of the Fort Collins Montgomery’s books.
I received an ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.
I am so excited to enter a new branch of the Montgomery world. Always love Carrie Ann’s stories and the way she pulls you into these characters. Annabelle is strong, maybe more so than anyone realizes, and Jacob is hurt, bitter over a loss he never appropriately dealt with. And their sparks are bright and fiery, first as Jacob hates Annabelle, and then as they find comfort together, not just in the past, but in the present and even for the future. I really liked Annabelle from the get go, and though Jacob was initially unlikeable, CAR did an amazing job of transforming him through his growth. An enjoyable read and I can’t wait for more from this family tree, esp with the next book set up being such a shocker. <3
Fate works in mysterious ways when the person whom you believe you dislike most in the world ends up being the person you can’t be without. Inked Persuasion will give you all the feels.
All of the Montgomery‘s contain a level of passion that’s like another so I thought until I met Annabelle Montgomery. The level of compassion that this woman possesses rivals sainthood. She understands the true meaning of friendship is and not everyone will get to experience everything they want in life. A truly strong woman in every sense of the word. Yet when the late husband’s brother moves in next door, buried emotions return, opening a door to something that could be a lot more.
Jacob Queen has returned home to help with care for his momma. Losing his brother years ago has made it all the more urgent that he spends as much time as he can with his mom. Little did he know he would be moving in right next-door to the last person on earth he ever wanted to see you again. Emotions flaring and only half truths known Jacob made what should have been some good into something ugly. Learning the real deal and opening his eyes has made him realize his only enemy was himself. And something wonderful it’s just an arms reach away.
Inked Persuasion was a whole different level of emotion and I enjoyed every bit of it. Jacob and Annabelle worked so well together. Even when bickering and fighting they did it with compassion and passion. Their chemistry came naturally while they stubbornly fault what their bodies and hearts knew before their brains. Carrie Ann Ryan once again gives readers a steamy and emotional story that has us feeling the thing we felli when a romance hits your just right. Annabelle and Jacob’s story is everything Montgomery that we have come to love.
