A brand new series of standalones from Carrie Ann and I am here for it! I love a good enemies to lovers, add them being neighbors and jackpot!
Well, Hello neighbor! What a great start to the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins Series.
How do you go from hating someone so much to wanting them in the next breath, well that is exactly what happens when Jacob Queen realizes he’s moved next door to the one person he never wanted to see again in his life, Annabelle Montgomery.
You know that fine line between love and hate, well, Jacob finds out just how fine that line is because this man has it bad and I loved it! You wonder how can you go from hating someone so much to changing your mind so quickly, well what if the reason you hated them was because of a misunderstanding? What if it was easier for you to hate someone so you didn’t feel the pain of loosing someone so close to you? Would that change things? Read this story and then tell me how you feel because I think Carrie Ann Ryan did a wonderful job with creating two characters that you couldn’t help pull for. They had amazing chemistry even when they didn’t get along so you know it was like fireworks once they did.
If you have read previous Montgomery Ink books, you are going to want to add this one to your TBR because Annabelle is related to BOTH families….and you have to see how that all plays out! If you are new to Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink World now is the perfect time to jump in and see why so many people love this Family.
Happy Reading!!
3 maple leafs… Inked Persuasion is the first book in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series and is an enemies-to-lovers, next-door neighbor romance.
Annabelle… An architect who works for her family’s business. She married her best friend as his dying wish and lost him just weeks after they were married.
Jacob… A lawyer who has returned home to Fort Collins to start over and help his parents while his mother is battling her illness. Annabelle’s enemy and brother to her late husband.
Story… Jacob returns home to Fort Collins and much to his dismay, his new neighbor is none other than his late brother’s widow Annabelle, who he thinks married his brother for all the wrong reasons. Once the truth is out in the open, Jacob and Annabelle fall into a friends with benefits relationship but they are both afraid to go any further. That is until they are ripped apart by jealousy.
My thoughts… A good introduction to the Fort Collins Montgomery clan. I am not a huge fan of Jacob and how he constantly jumped to conclusions. Annabelle was a little too timid for me. I did not expect the twist and it made things interesting. Overall I struggled with this one as I did not get the connection with the main characters.
Audio… Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder did a good job with the narration of the story and brought everything to life.
Enter a new Montgomery family these build things like homes. I loved this book because it had me so glued to the pages. I mean rarely put down one of the books I am reading by this author once I start it anyways but with this book I did not even drink coffee or eat. It was a read from start to end.
What would you do if you knew your best friend only had a short time to live and wanted to experience life at its finest? I don’t know about you but I would do what Annabell Montgomery did and marry Jonah Queen. Of course, she had no idea that his brother would hate her because of it and take off only to return ten years later and move right in next door to her. Oh, boy life is fun! This book is a wonderful read and I am so looking forward to more books in this series.
Annabelle and Jacob were amazing together, the circumstances of their match were heartfelt but the chemistry was there. I loved their interactions from start to finish and it was nice to see the relationship grow. I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series.
Ft Collins is a new place and new set of the Montgomery family. Absolutely loved this new group and can’t wait to see how the rest of the family comes along
I love the Montgomery Ink series and this is another new crew in a new town. Great characters as always, interesting story line, and a really enjoyable read.
Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop! This is definitely going in my re-read pile!
Annabelle is a Fort Collins Montgomery that runs Montgomery building company that was started by her father but is run not by Annabelle and her brothers and sisters.
Jacob has moved to Fort Collins to look after his mum and dad but didn’t realise his sister in law is Annabelle’s lives next door.
Annabelle love her husband but thing are not what Jacob thinks and he gets a shock when he stars to see her and his family more.
Absolutely loved this book, it’s so heartbreaking but forgiving at same time. Carrie Ann Ryan has such a gift to deliver these types of book without them being too depressive. Looking forward to finding out the other brothers and sisters happy ever afters
This is the first of the Fort Collins Montgomery’s we get to see Annabella and Jacob’s story.
Annabella works with her family that builds homes and she is the architect. Her family is very close and they work well together but find it a bit harder as of lately with their dad butting in on all of the upcoming projects.
That’s not the only issue she faces her new neighbor is Jacob Queen and he is not to fond of her for reasons she’s not exactly sure of but like anything else she’s determined to make the most of the situation. Unfortunately there is one little problem they both seem to find themselves attracted to each other no matter how much they deny it.
Overall, it’s a wonderful new story and you’ll get a HEA the author always gives us an amazing beautiful story. Looking forward to more Montgomery’s.
I absolutely enjoyed listening to Inked Persuasion by Carrie Ann Ryan. Narrated by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock, they truly brought this story to life for me. A story about grief, loss, family, hope and second chances. This is the first book in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series and will draw you in right from the start. Jacob never wanted to see Annabelle again. She stole so much from him, right? So Imagine his surprise when he moves back home and discovers she is his new neighbor. They have so much history together, can they find a way to co-exist?
Jacob was a bit of a jerk at the start of the story, but we get to see why he feels like he does. But when he leans the truth, we see a more caring and determined side of him. Annabelle was sweet, likable and strong. And I just loved her relationship with her siblings. As Jacob and Annabelle become friends, they realize they share an amazing chemistry and connection. They want to keep things light and fun, but life is never that easy. Obstacles seem to find their way between them. Can they find their happily ever after? I loved their journey so much!

Happy reading!
I am a huge fan of all things Montgomery Ink. This family just keeps on giving. The Fort Collins Montgomery’s don’t disappoint. Annabelle and Jacob Queen’s story is one of my favorites now. The story has a great twist of he’s the neighbor then to find out he’s the old brother in law. Then throw in an ex-wife and an obsessed neighbor. I like how the twin connection was brought into the background details. I’m a big fan of all the details that Carrie puts I to each story. They all intertwined to connect the family tree. I can’t wait for the next Montgomery Ink story.
I really enjoyed Annabelle and Jacob’s story. It was a strange mix of enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and almost a little bit of a second chance feel, but this was not at all a second chance love story. It was weird, but it worked.
Im excited to see where this new batch of Montgomery’s takes us. It started off well, so hopefully it continues on this trend.
I really like this Montgomery series but for some reason this book did not connect with me. Annabelle marries her best friend Jonah who is dying. There is no romantic connection, no feelings of love…just friendship. His brother Jacob resents her for “stealing” his brother during his last days and wants nothing to do with her. He doesn’t know the full story of why they were actually married and has built up this wall when it comes to her.
I honestly did not feel this new found love between these two or a romantic connection at all. It felt forced. Maybe it was the storyline or the lack of fireworks between the two but it fell flat for me. I just didn’t get the “hate” he strongly felt for her and felt even less how it was so quickly “instalove”. There is a side story as well that I’m not sure how it actually fits in and confused the hell out of me. I could have done without it. For me, the story felt like it was all over the place. I do like this series, however, and look forward to future books!
I really loved this book! It was so very good, and emotional. Like all Carrie Ann Ryan books I am just blown away with her writing and the diverse characters that she has. I am so excited to get to read this book!
When Annabelle Montgomery comes home after a long day she doesn’t expect to see Jacob Queen. Jacob certainly wasn’t expecting to see his brother’s widow, Annabelle, either when he returns home to Fort Collins and buys the house next door.
Annabelle doesn’t understand why her former friend has so much disdain for her until all the secrets in the Queen family come out, but even then, it is almost too late. This book has a bit of suspense at the end to keep us hooked along with the epilogue/segue into book #2
The Fort Collins Montgomery’s are a bit different than our Boulder Montgomery’s and I am excited to see read where their paths go.
4.5/5 stars.
An amazing enemies-to-lovers read!
Inked Persuasion is a steamy, emotional enemies to lovers and forced proximity romance that will have you craving the happily ever after until the very last page!
This book will bring you to tears and have you jumping for joy.
It shows you that when you grieve, no one does it the same way. Not to mention in the face of tragedy, not everyone views the situation the same way.
Annabelle was married young to her best friend. It was his dying wish to be married and have a traditional wedding. Annabelle gave him that. She gave him the gift of happiness at the end of a long battle.
His brother didn’t see it that way. Jacob only saw a girl taking advantage of his brother. Taking time away from his brother that he could have had.
What happens when the two become next door neighbors?
Oh so much happens and it’s so much fun to watch. Also heartbreaking when Jacob actually realizes what he thought was all wrong.
