“With delicious characters and a story that kept me turning the pages, I can’t recommend Rachel Rawlings enough. She will have you either laughing or falling in love in no time. Probably both!”–NY Times Bestselling Author Darynda Jones
Adeline Severance leads a dangerous, magical double life.
Tattoo artist by day and warding witch by night, Adeline uses magical inks, a tattoo machine, and the … night, Adeline uses magical inks, a tattoo machine, and the help of her best friend Lars to permanently imbue spells of protection onto her clients. Thanks to the Magistrate’s greed and failure to protect its citizens, her services were in high demand.
But when Nicholas Marks walks through the door of her tattoo studio looking for an appointment, one of Adeline’s wards isn’t the only thing he’s after. Forced into working for the Magistrate, he’s been tasked with bringing her in.
With her cover story blown, Adeline has two choices: Run as far and as fast as she can, or stay and fight. Though she’s not ready to give up the only life she’s ever known, putting her trust in a traitor may end up being the worst decision she’s ever made.

This is everything I love in Urban Fantasy but Nothing I’ve Ever Seen Before! What a unique spin on the genre. This story was full of mystery, romance, magic, and plot twists. Rawling’s take on the genre is fresh and exciting. I can’t wait for book 2!
I loved this read right from the star. I am loving the main character Adeline, I like how the Character has come to fruition. And the storyline as well. A great book. That is fast paced. Edge of your seat, wondering whats going to happen next. With twists and turns I highly recommend this read. Its definitely, got alot of creativity, and the Author has done a fabulous job.

A decent book that I enjoyed until half way. When things got tough the mc became an insecure woman always doing something dumb and badgering those who protect her into going along with something they know is stupid. Other than that, a good story, real characters, a well built universe, and a cliffhanger…. hate that. Otherwise, it’s good.
Magic, Murder and Meyhem! Oh My!!
.
Rachel Rawlings creative mind has entertained me once again! Not new to this literary maven, I am sad I waited so long to read and review Ink It Over! Once I began reading, I didn’t or rather couldn’t put this first book in the series starter down.
.
In this book, our main character, Adelaide does her magic in a tattoo shop called SOMETHING TO INK ABOUT. How you ask? Very simply by spellbinding the ink etched in her subjects body. Peotecting them from harm.
.
In walks danger in the form of a male named Nicholas Marks. With him Adelaide’s days of being a well hidden magic weilder is no more. Take it from me, this urban fantasy novel is fun, unique and entertaining.

Fans of Holly Black, Melissa Marr and Darynda Jones will enjoy every second of the read!

Ink it Over is a pretty awesome read. It has intense characters, a strong female lead with a good heart, hottie bad guys, an overprotective best friend (there may be something more there), and an amazing story to tell. This book had my attention from start to finish. If there were magical ward tattoos, sign me up!!

The third member of there group Nicholas the nephew to a member of the Magistrate has lied to Lars and Del from the beginning can he be trusted is he playing some kind of game working for his Uncle or is he really trying to help them. Whats next for Del and what secrets will be revealed next.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Del is a witch with a twist: a tattoo artist who can put magic in her ink!
Her power makes the witch council uneasy; they want to imprison Del at best, murder her at worst. She’s in hiding with two sidekicks, one guy with brawn, one with his own strong magic. They both will protect her to their deaths. I loved the twist with the tats in this book. The threat against Del grows in intensity, and magic literally flies through the air. I couldn’t put this book down! Good reading here, folks … you could say there’s magic in every word!
I like this book because it had a strong heroine in a totalitarian type world with magic. The wardens originally protected magic users but had in the recent past turned into more of an organized crime style shakedown crew.. As a warder the heroine is able to help magic users escape the goons! She is subject to unpleasant prison or more likely execution for just being a warden. This is a fun fantasy not a romance and thoroughly enjoyable,

The story starts with a bang and I love the characters and world that the author created. They are very strong, really enjoy the parallel lines with the normal world and she does not skip at giving good descriptions. Exciting action scenes are followed by funny interludes and details. As an avid coffee drinking tattoo fan, I loved the accurate descriptions of the main character. She made me laugh out loud with some of the funny scenes. In short, I highly recommend reading this book and I cannot wait to see how the story continues.

Although I think this is a good concept for a book or book series, I constantly felt like there must have been another book before this one and I was trying to play catch up. I don’t think enough of the “world” was explained in order to not feel like I was missing something. I do think it is leading to a good series and maybe with a boxed set when it is complete it would be better. The ending is quite abrupt and left me hanging. I’m sure this was at least somewhat intention to continue the series though.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a really hard time putting it down. The descriptions of the characters and the vivid imagery provided about their surroundings really brought the whole book to life for me. I can’t wait for the sequel to see how a lot of things come together to show is the big picture!!

Her magic can only mean death!

I really enjoyed this book. The plot twists plus the danger and excitement made it impossible for me to put the book down once I picked it up. Something To Ink about is more than just a tattoo shop. It is also a place for Adeline Severance to practice her skills as a Warder while trying to stay under the radar of the Magistrate. But traps have been set, and traps are sprung, and before Adeline and her “”big brother” Lars know it they are running for their lives. Rachel Rawling creates an imaginative world that intertwines with the mundane world the rest of us live in. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary. This is the only book I have read in this series and now I definitely want to read the others. A great series starter!
I absolutely loved everything about this book. It is such an original concept and is well executed. The characters are relatable with depth and the worl building is detailed and unique. I had a hard time putting the book down, I was captivated from start to finish. I look forward to more in this series and from this author.
An action filled paranormal themed urban fantasy read
Del, a tattoo artist and witch hiding her powers, risks discovery every time she decides to help another witch with problems. As the story progresses help comes with a catch, danger lurks around every corner, and a heavy price may be paid. Rachel Rawlings’ first book in her A Touch of Ink series is an action filled paranormal themed urban fantasy read with a slight romantic undertone. I really like what Ms. Rawlings has started here and look forward to reading more from her.
I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Del is a tattoo artist by day with a secret job at night as a warder that has the Magistrate of witches after her. Even though she is protecting other powerful witches that are flying under the radar of the magistrate and technically they should be protecting the witches. But instead the Magistrate is killing off all the warders. Del and her protector Lars have to team up with Nicolas who essentially works for the Magistrate in a roundabout way but has asked them to trust him. Well I guess we will have to see about that.
