The second installment in Melissa Marr’s #1 New York Times bestselling Wicked Lovely series brings readers back to the land of faerie and delivers another stunning, high-stakes romance.Unbeknownst to mortals, a power struggle is unfolding in a world of shadows and danger. After centuries of stability, the balance among the Faery Courts has altered, and Irial, ruler of the Dark Court, is battling … ruler of the Dark Court, is battling to hold his rebellious and newly vulnerable fey together. If he fails, bloodshed and brutality will follow.
Seventeen-year-old Leslie knows nothing of faeries or their intrigues. When she is attracted to an eerily beautiful tattoo of eyes and wings, all she knows is that she has to have it, convinced it is a tangible symbol of changes she desperately craves for her own life.
The tattoo does bring changes—not the kind Leslie has dreamed of, but sinister, compelling changes that are more than symbolic. Those changes will bind Leslie and Irial together, drawing Leslie deeper and deeper into the faery world, unable to resist its allures, and helpless to withstand its perils. . .

One thing I can say about this book is that it wasn’t what I expected. This book focuses on Leslie, Niall and the Dark Court King Irial. I wanted Leslie to have her HEA because she deserved it after years of mental and physical abuse and she went through a lot in this story. She got a happy ending but it wasn’t what I expected. This is one story …
Leslie is running from things that happened to her, trying to reclaim her body as hers. Getting a tattoo – marking her body, making it hers again – seemed like a good idea. Only, the tattoo she chose draws her into a world of shadows: Faerie.
It’s brilliantly written. I enjoyed all the detail of how tattoos work and how the author incorporated it …
I read this book originally when I was in high school, and it’s more for young adults. I honestly couldn’t back down. It has fae, or faeries (not misspelled), love, fighting, and honestly, I loved how the main character refuses to let anyone control her and sets her foot down.
Ink Exchange is my favorite of the series. I’ll be honest, I lost steam after the 4th book though. I still think about the plot and characters every so often with this book so its really stayed with me even though I read it several years ago!
This is actually my favorite one in the whole series. Not including Ash, Leslie is the only of Ash’s friends where we actually know anything about. We get an inside look into her life as well as some semblance of back story on her. I also, like the way Marr creates this sort of love triangle between Leslie, Iral, & Nial (i def spelled their names …
I ended up going out to get my first tattoo after reading this book!
I really enjoyed the 2nd book in the Wicked Lovely series. At first I thought it was going to be one of those series that has a different set of characters in each book, so I was pleased to see Seth, Keenan and Aislinn in this book as well. This time we get to see more of the “Dark Court” of the faeries and we get to know one of Keenan’s “friends” …
