Kaylee knows art, friendship, and love. And because she’s known love, she wants nothing to do with it ever again. She likes her life just the way it is. Her art and her Brushes with Lushes classes keep her sane and happy.Landon spends his days with numbers and financial spreadsheets. At night, he just wants to relax, but the only way he can do that is with a woman. But these days, not just any … just any woman will do.
Kaylee and Landon do an excellent job of dancing around each other, but no matter how much desire burns between them or their own personal hang-ups, they’ll need to make a choice: life as they know it, or a life that could be so much more.

This is book 3.5 of the Colorado Springs Series. Kaylee is from a wealthy socialite family, she married her first husband to please her mother but quickly realized that nothing would please her mom and it was time to live her life for her own happiness. Now she runs her own art studio and has monthly Brushes with Lushes classes and is joined by all the Montgomery women and their friends.
Landon is friends with the Montgomery’s as well as with Kaylee. They have been circling each other for over a year. They weren’t ready for a relationship then, and the whole group thinks that they are already a couple, but now they might not have a choice anymore as their chemistry is going to get the best of them.
This was the best couple to cap the Colorado Springs series with. The book is more of a novella, but its smooth and sweet, with barely any drama. A slow burn right to home plate.
This is a short story in the Montgomery world. This time it’s Kaylee & Landon’s turn. They’re best friends, who are kinda stuck between wanting more and just wanting to be friends. It takes a little bit, but they finally figure it out. Definitely grab this to find out what happens!
This novella was short and sweet! In this book we finally get Kaylee and Landon’s story! I have been wondering about their relationship throughout the series and I was excited to get their story. Kaylee and Landon both have baggage that keeps them in the just friends category. What happens when they can no longer hid their feelings for one another?! This was another great addition to this series.
This quick read was quite enjoyable. Though short this book delivers an abundance of feels as Kaylee and Landon’s romance unfolds. These two share incredible chemistry, clever banter and some very steamy scenes. This was a very good read but I truly wish it had been longer. I can’t help feeling that there was so much left unsaid, undone and unexplored with this couple.
Kaylee and Landon!
We’ve seen this couple dance around each other for a few books and now we finally have a glimpse of what’s going on between them. I enjoyed this quick read–and it was very, very quick–but do wish they had gotten the full Montgomery Ink treatment. Regardless of the length, Kaylee and Landon’s story had steam, banter, and of course, a happily ever after, so it was a very satisfying snack.
Sweet little read.. and a long time coming! Would’ve loved to read more of Landon’s history (hint hint ).
Carrie Ann Ryan has an amazing writing ability that captivates and consumes her readers. Ink by numbers is now a favorite for me. A definite one click.
What a wonderfully sweet friends-to-lovers read from Carrie Ann Ryan. This is Kaylee and Landon’s story, finally. And Ink by Numbers can be read as a standalone but we do get to see the other couples in the Colorado Springs series. Hopefully we get to see more of them in future books.
A fast read that delivers the crazy sexy chemistry that made for an enjoyable read. I loved Kaylee and Landon’s story, it was intense and yet sweet. I was glad to see that their second chance at love found a HEA.
I loved this story! You could feel the struggles between the main characters! I liked how they took the time to build their relationship. The story read so well that I finished it to soon. I loved the secondary characters just as much!! You cannot go wrong with Carrie Ann Ryan story!!
Ink by numbers is an insight to Kaylee and Landon’s story. If you have read any of the previous Montgomery books you would have read about Kaylee and Landon, well now it’s time to get to know them better. This book is a short novel but it is still jammed packed full of goodness. Another successful book by Carrie Ann Ryan. Thank you for always bring us so much enjoyment with your words.
Kaylee and Landon had tried the relationship angle in the past but in order to protect the friendship bond they have, they thought it would be in their best interest to stay as friends. But how are they supposed to stay friends when they can’t stop thinking or wanting to be together.
Kaylee did what was expected of her, she married the man her mother wanted her to, even though neither her or her ex loved each other. But when keeping her mother happy wasn’t enough, it was time for Kaylee to do what was best for her. Kaylee moved, made friends with the Montgomery’s and their spouses and Landon, opened her art studio and painted.
Landon loves woman, the way they feel, look and smell, but only one woman is constantly filling his mind but she isn’t his. Kissing Kaylee might have been the stupidest thing to do after they both agreed to stay friends, or it might have been the thing to open the door and communication between them.
Very enjoyable read, but I did find it to be a little to short, as I believed there were a few topics that we touched base of but never got the full picture of. I am hoping that Kaylee and Landon will eventually get a full length novel as I would like to find out more about his and her family, and Kaylee’s the ex-husband.
As always Carrie Ann Ryan makes you feel every emotion of the characters in her books. This one makes you see that sometimes the feeling is there but the timing isn’t right. Eventually you will realize that time has passed and things can be perfect now. The story is short, but has a lot of feelings in it.
Wow!!!! I love that Kaylee and Landon finally get their story!! You know hey are friends, maybe more, but now you get to them. They both have baggage that caused them to remain friends, and nothing more…until they realize how much they truly mean to each other. It’s sweet, steamy and just so good!
Friends from the beginning, Kaylee and Landon both have issues they each need to work out. The longing the both feel keeps them pushing, yet pulling, each other. Short, sweet, and steamy. Loved it!!
Kaylee and Landon! Finally we get their HEA. A quick novella that was a nice, fun, easy read. I enjoyed this book and love the Montgomery’s!!
Landon and Kaylee have been dancing around each other for the entirety of this series and we finally find out why. This quick read is long on insight to where Kaylee comes from, where Landon is at, and why they finally take a chance on having their HEA together!
Ink by Numbers was a short novella that finally gave us Landon and Kaylee’s story. I loved getting to know their back story and that they got their HEA.
Carrie Ann Ryan has the great ability to make her characters feel like they have been your friends for years. Ink by Numbers is no exception. Sometimes falling in love takes a little bit of time.
Short and sweet. I enjoyed seeing these two finally get out of their own way and take a chance on each other. We have seen them dance around each other over the past few books and have been secretly rooting for them. They both have their insecurities and things that get in the way of them trusting enough to do what they really want. To feel, to fall, to love. This book is a short novella and easily read in a sitting. HOWEVER this story has been going on for much longer.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is a super sweet short read. Landon and Kaylee have been mentioned in earlier books and they have always denied being in a relationship. They just needed time to accept that they needed each other. It is always great to visit the Montgomery’s world.
