Kaylee knows art, friendship, and love. And because she’s known love, she wants nothing to do with it ever again. She likes her life just the way it is. Her art and her Brushes with Lushes classes keep her sane and happy.Landon spends his days with numbers and financial spreadsheets. At night, he just wants to relax, but the only way he can do that is with a woman. But these days, not just any … just any woman will do.
Kaylee and Landon do an excellent job of dancing around each other, but no matter how much desire burns between them or their own personal hang-ups, they’ll need to make a choice: life as they know it, or a life that could be so much more.

Carrie Ann Ryan at her best. I have been wondering about this pair for a long time & now Landon & Kaylee have their own story to tell. Everybody was hoping they would get together but what. They didn’t know was they had been together 12 months ago & were just good friends now, who went out to dinner together alot!
If you’re familiar with the Montgomery’s, chances are you’re already familiar with Landon & Kaylee. This story picks up when their story has already had their first chance. Both Landon & Kaylee have decided that they are best off as friends, not as anything more. The problem comes in that, privately, they both want more but don’t want to jeopardise their friendship. This is a fantastic quick read that provides you with everything you can want – great characters, quality writing, wonderful premise, good dose of the Montgomery’s & a HEA. This is a nice quick read while you wait for your next full length book from this author.
Carrie Ann Ryan sweeps readers off their feet with the latest installment of the Montgomery Ink, Colorado Springs series with Ink by Numbers.
If you have been reading the Montgomery’s of Colorado Springs you have gotten to know a little bit about Kaylee and Landon. Kaylee is the lovely and creative owner of Brushes with Lushes. Kaylee has a past I wasn’t expecting but that past helped mold her into the pretty awesome person she has become. Landon is a solid friend of the Montgomery’s and a numbers nerd. The hottie of a man has been a in a rut with his life. Over the course of the Colorado Springs spin off of The Montgomery Ink series we have seen Kaylee and Landon have dance around the chemistry they create. Are they or not, has been a running question for many. Even them. Now we get their story.
Ink by Numbers is a quick, emotional and sweet short story. Kaylee and Landon are so good for each other, it just takes them a while to get there. The romance is slow but once the flame is on, there is not stopping the two. The things we learned of both Kaylee and Landon give such insight to whom they are. Ms. Ryan filled in the blanks for all those questions we had of Landon and Kaylee.
A quickie Montgomery Ink bonus from Carrie Ann Ryan! Pick this up for a friends-to-lovers romance you can devour in one sitting.
I am a huge fan of Carrie Ann Ryan and the Montgomery Ink series, but Ink by Numbers was a big disappointment. It has what you expect from a Ryan book. It grabs your attention, has engaging characters and a story you want to read. This book has all three, but failed to deliver on the story. I wanted to know more about Kaylee and Landon’s past and present. As a short story, it had too much dialogue and not enough details.
This is a voluntary review of an ARC.
5 BEAUTIFUL STARS!! Another fantastic book in this great series. I loved Kayla and Landon story it had all the feels we look for in a romance book. This author is an amazing author and keeps you turning pages. I highly recommend this this book, it worth your time and money.
Who doesn’t want to know what’s happening with Kaylee and Landon?!? Are they or aren’t they?! It’s been 4 books and we finally get the answers we’ve all been looking for. I felt this novella was entirely too short for this couple’s story. There were several topics touched upon (both parental units/families, Kaylee’s ex-husband) that were skimmed on, without terribly much explanation or depth to those relationships. There was some steam, but it was only at the end. This story felt rushed and ultimately, left more questions than explanations for this reader. 3.5/5
Finally Kaylee and Landon get their HEA!!!
Fun quick read – great add to the MI series(es)!
I loved this novella about Landon and Kaylee. After her married dissolved into divorce with so much anger from her mom and setting her up on dates she didn’t want, she decides to do what she needs to do and goes off to do her art. With the Montgomery’s as friend she relishes in her new life. Landon has helped his friends work out their relationships but is unhappy in his job. He meets Kaylee and have one night together until they decide on friends. With Kaylee’s mom wanting what she can get out of her can Kaylee ever get her HEA? Love both of the characters in this book.
This was a novella about Kaylee and Landon who we have seen in previous Montgomery family books. It was a nice resolution for these two characters. You do need to read the other books where these to appear to fully understand and appreciate their relationship. I love when every CAR couple finds their HEA.
When I started reading Ink by Numbers the last thing I was expected to feel was disappointment. I know that is a super short read, but even for that standards it felt rushed. I actually thought “Wait, that’s it?”. I just felt like we had two chapters were Kaylee and Landon were like “We didn’t work out and now we are friends, but I want to try again” and then BOOM we got to the “Let’s be together” part without them doing much. It was like a wish, where you say I want them to be together and the next second they are. I just wish for one or two more chapters. It was too short and I wanted to see Landon and Kaylee just a little bit more.
I loved it! Kaylee and Landon are meant for each other. I love that they are both hard working. They don’t care what other people think of them… just what they think about each other. My only complaint is its not long enough!! However, I think about that in all novellas. I can’t wait to see what else Carrie Ann has in store for us in Colorado Springs.
Finally! Landon and Kaylee’s story. We’ve met them and followed them in the previous books but this one is all theirs. It’s perfect. Straight and to the point. This is a wonderful friend’s to lover’s story with lots of what we’ve come to expect from this author, lots of sexy scenes! Pick up Inked by Numbers and get ready to fall in love with yet another couple.
One of the things i like about Carrie Ann Ryan’s books is that along with the main characters, she introduces us to side characters like family or friends. And, what happens is that the readers like myself end up wanting to know more about those side characters. This brings us to this story. It is a part of her Colorado Springs Series. With this short read, we get Kaylee & Landon’s story. Even though this is a short story it is still packed with humor, fun, passion, and a few heart tugs. They are each others very best friend that really loves and desires the other!! I just love them and glad that Carrie Ann gave us a story about them. It is a nice addition to this CS series!!!! It is also a perfect lunch time read.
Another one by this author on relationships that can take us readers and tie us up as it unfolds and plays out. Kaylee and Landon do that number on us with her having her baggage and us seeing how he will try and open that up. He also has his thing he does but with the two of them together we would whoop with joy but do they give us that? This also is a quick one that can satisfy you in no time at all. Full of emotions you get to see how these two work and it is not all steam which was refreshing. See if love once again is the winner or not.
This is a quick novella so that we could have Landon and Kaylee’s story! We have seen snippets of the 2 in previous books and I know I wondered if they would actually get together or if they would each have a story later down the road. This book gave us their background and how these two actually move past the point of being best friends and move into the love of each other’s life part. I loved it! Landon is beyond sweet but he also can push when he needs to. He is a man that isn’t afraid to do the things he needs to in order to be happy. Even if that means he may lose the friendship of the person who matters the most to him. Kaylee has some issues that she had to work through but she is strong and is an amazing character not only in this book but in all of them. And these 2 are HOT together!! I loved reading this snippet and being able to see them get their HEA! As always with the novella’s, I wish it had been longer but I can’t complain because it was still an amazing read!
Ink by Numbers is a great addition to the Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series. There have been teasers in the other books about Kaylee and Landon so while it was short (too short!!) it was great to finally get the behind the scenes scoop on these 2 characters. Looking forward to what the author has in store for the Montgomery’s next.
This was a sweet story of a couple who were a thing then went their separate ways only to….
Possible SPOILERS
One year ago Kaylee & Landon tried to have a relationship and it didn’t work out due to their past but they remained friends…
After a fight on the phone with her mother it made Kaylee realized what & who is truly important in her life..she needs to stick with her decision and tell Landon hopefully he’ll feel the same.
Landon loves every minute he spends with Kaylee even if he is friend-zoned but he hopes one day he will get another opportunity to be with her.
A quickie romance? Um, YES PLEASE! Perfect for a one-sitting afternoon read!
