New town, new school. Same story. I’m Laura, I’ve spent most of my life crisscrossing the county yielding to the whims of my transient mother. We’ve never stayed in one place long enough to call it home, and I don’t have any hope of that changing. I follow the rules; no drawing attention to myself, no friends, and especially no boys. But my mom’s been keeping secrets, secrets so profound they … so profound they threaten to turn my world upside down. I’ve always assumed her paranoia was a symptom of a mental illness, but as her secrets begin to unravel, I realize nothing is what it seems.
As my life careens out of control a group of guys from school promise to give me answers about who I really am. I’m afraid of what I might learn, but more afraid of what I could be giving up if I don’t listen.

This was my first book (ebook or audiobook) from this author and I can see the big potential from this story but it wasn’t executed how I think it could be. I think some of the world-building wasn’t there. I understand some things need to be answered in future books but the guys are keeping way too many things from the MC and in turn the readers. I would give the story 3.5-4 stars because of this, again I see a ton of potential and ending up getting the whole audiobook series because I was interested to see where the author was going with these infinities and this cool world. I am interested to see as they get closer how their powers change/grow. I am not happy about keeping her a secret through. Like I get it, but I feel for Laura and can understand her feelings. It just started to get repetitive because things didnt progress much. In terms of the guys, I want to shake Milo and Dante. I love Ollie and hope he gets more air time with Laura in the future books. I wonder what’s up with her mom. I assume she knows about this world, something happened, and she was trying to protect her and it finally caught up to her. We shall see as the series progresses haha.
I saw a lot of negative reviews for the narration and I’ve listened to Heather before and sometimes she be hit or miss but I thought at 1.4X speed, there were no issues. I thought her performance of the different characters was good. I think her biggest area of improvement is her male narration, but a lot of female narrators are fabulous doing the female voices and then aren’t as strong with the differing male narrations in a RH story. I thought she did a good job with Maggie and Delaney and being standoffish as Dante and Milo, mysterious as Ares, and goofy/lovable Ollie.
4 stars for Infinity Chronicles: Book One by Albany Walker. As you can tell this is book one in the Infinity Chronicles series. This is a paranormal reverse harem series. “You are our Synergist.” Laura is in a new town again , trying to stay invisible, however after meeting Ares, Ollie, Dante, and Milo changes that. The relationship is a slow going but I liked that. I feel like Walker is really developing their relationships. There are some MM parts through-out the series. I loved it. I’ve never read Walker’s books before but after reading this one I’m now a fan. The way Laura is written, I felt like I was in her head. I enjoyed that. Looking forward to reading mores.
My favourite series my go to books when I’m in a book frump great characters really get a feel for their backgrounds and lives
Laura is just trying to survive yet another new school in a new town. Since she became a teenager, she has been caring for her paranoid mother and the household. To keep her mom from freaking out, Laura tries to blend in at school and be unremarkable in every way. Things start to change when she gets noticed by three popular guys. Her reaction to them is over the top and she starts to wonder if everything is as it seems. She discovers things about herself and the guys she would have never guessed. Things get a little heated when the guys’ older brother comes into the picture. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for book 2.
