slow starting. I don’t spend much time with any novel that starts slowly, and this one crawled. Between that and constant shifting of POV, it left me uninterested in a very short time. Dumped it and went on to something else.
Very interesting look at what may be the future in a short time. Good character development, action, information, and well developed plot.
Another fun book from Douglas Richards. His books remind me of a cross between Clancy and Crichton
I enjoyed this book as the author used futuristic technology in the story and made it seem quite plausible. Didn’t want to stop reading until I finished the book
I really enjoyed this book and have become a huge fan of Douglas E. Richards’ works. I’ve read the Nick Hall books, which I recommend and am currently reading Quantum Lens, which is also very enjoyable.
He must do a tremendous amount of scientific reading because his books all have a cutting edge scientific topic that he presents so well with wonderfully developed characters who are very likable. Almost too likable sometimes, which is why I gave this a 4 (and 1/2, if I could) instead of a 5. I also like the way he handles consideration of God – is He or isn’t He? I am a Christian so I very much believe He is but I’m not offended by questions or exploration into His existence.
I do heartily recommend his books for science fiction fans. Honestly, I enjoy reading books that are exciting and fast paced where the hero and/or heroine (Good) face some serious adversity by some very smart, savvy bad guys (Evil) but triumph in the end.
This is a great book. Science fiction, time travel, incredibly creative and very compelling. I really enjoyed this book and will read the rest of this author’s books.
This may be one of the best books I have read in a while. Not only is it something that could really happen, it is educational.. I love the Epilogue and the things i Learned from it….Great Book
I am not a science lover, but the concepts are told in an understandable way and it’s quite thought provoking.
Based on most recent theories where tech is taking us. Believable near future page turner.
Great story. Gives you lots to think about. Plenty of ups and downs, twists and turns. You will really enjoy it.
Enjoyable easy read. Kept me engaged!
For the first 50 percent of the book it was classic good ideas great conjecture, and mind bending possibilities. The second half was less mind blowing and more explaining about how this idea could actually happen , to the point of ” enough already… Get back to the story. So 50% page turner ….. 50% slog. Good read nevertheless.
One excellent read. Really entertaining and action packed but loaded with facts about AI. Makes you think and talk about it long after you’ve finished the book. Great story, likeable, believeable characters and plot.
Wonderful almost believable story.
Another night of lost sleep couldn’t put it down
Amazing and enlightening book. A must read.
Incredible take on immortality and a mystery all rolled into one. The plot has many twists and turns and surprises, as do the characters. The premise is a bit frightening, especially when you realize that artificial intelligence is not science fiction, but rather a developing and advancing reality.
At the end of the story, be sure to read the author’s notes…….they are extremely interesting.
Driving and interesting twists
I loved this book! Smart people and fantastic technology. The characters are surprising and the situations near impossible. The twists and action make for an excellent read. I also love reading the end of the book where the author talks about his research for the book. It makes you respect him all the more as writer.
