Inferno is the explosive, most anticipated, final book in Donna Grant’s Dark Kings series featuring Con, the King of the Dragon Kings! I knew what I wanted. And nothing was going to stop me. King of Dragon Kings. Driven, ruthless, shrewd. The weight of survival for Constantine and his brethren has pushed him to set aside his own yearnings–for now. He’s the most powerful of all Dragon Kings, and … the most powerful of all Dragon Kings, and Con will stop at nothing to destroy anyone who dares to threaten his existence.
For years, Con has hidden his pain–his desperation–for there is one smoldering beauty that he craves above all else, even if he feels he doesn’t deserve her. However, his enemies are at every corner. There is no one left to trust. But none of that matters anymore: There is only one thing that Con wants. With this one woman by his side, he can fight for the freedom of his fellow men-in-arms. All Con has to do is get her to surrender her heart…and be his for all time.

This book was the most amazing book of the Dark Kings series. I could not put this one down at all Donna Grant is the most incredible author pulling every reader into the story with the characters. Even though this was the end of the current series I am excited for the spin-off’s that will come in the future. We will see the Dragon Kings in future novellas and with the Reaper books. Anyone who loves dragons and Donna Grants world of the Dark Kings needs to read this book I won’t give away anything but this is definitely a must read.
It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for and Donna Grant does NOT disappoint!!!! What a story!
Inferno is the explosive, most anticipated, final book in Donna Grant’s Dark Kings series featuring Con, the King of the Dragon Kings!
Absolutely loved this book. Didn’t see that coming near the end. This is a definite must read. I would recommend reading the previous books in series to fully appreciate this book. The Dark Kings Series is an amazing series to read. Thank you Donna Grant! She has a way of transporting you to her world.
As an avid reader of romance novels for many years, it takes a LOT to surprise me. This story did. (I believe there were curse words uttered.) What a roller coaster ride it has been to get to this story. Thank you for saving my sanity in quarantine, I listened to EVERY ONE of the books leading up to this finale since lockdown started, and it saved my sanity. The only negative thing I can say is that now I have to wait for the first book in the spin-off series. Donna Grant is an incredible world builder, can’t wait to see what happens next.
First, don’t make this your first read in the Dark Kings series. This is the final book and you will definitely get more out of the series if you read it in order. You might also enjoy parallel reading with the warriors and reapers as they are all interconnected and happen at the same time. I have put a link to Hal’s story (the opening novella) at the bottom of my review.
Second, I have been waiting for Con’s book for so long! It was an excellent ending and a new beginning. The new series will be out in Jan 2021 I believe.
I love Con and his mate. They have both been developing over the last 18 books and often in the numerous novellas as well. It was nice to see everything come together. I don’t want to spoil any of the story so all I am going to say is this series is very involved and complex. It is well written and the overall story arc is immense. If you don’t enjoy Insta love, fate, or the concept of mates you might want to give this series a miss. But if you do like that trope I think you will enjoy these stories.
Happy reading!
WOW.. just wow… I have waited and waited for these 2 to have their happy ending.. but what a ending it was… just WOW…
This was a great book, and I absolutely love this series…
The Saga has finally come to an End…But the adventure will continue. Rhi and Con finally received their well deserved HEA, along with an ultimate SHOCK factor. Donna Grant is an amazing story teller and I cannot wait for the next Chapter, starting with the spin off series “The Dragon Kings”. If you are really into PNR and looking for great Read, I highly recommend this series. You will not be disappointed. Happy Reading.
The Dragon Kings are gorgeous, protective, fierce, gallant, amazing Scots. They do their best to protect humanity from the Dark Fae while maintaining anonymity. Forces continually strive to expose their true dragon form to the world, to initiate their destruction.
The Dark Kings saga by Donna Grant is one of my all-time favorites out there. And Inferno is the big one. Con’s story. The King of Kings. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely it is. Let’s start with the standard warning, especially this far in if you are not familiar with the Dragon Kings, do not start here. You are going to spoil a whole slew of books if you read this first and believe me, it is a fun test of patience trying to figure out who Con’s mate is.
And the not so standard warning that I will not be able to review further without spoilers. Last chance, stop here if you do not want to spoil, well, the entire series. Of course, everyone’s fantasy of how things were supposed to happen are different. I spent hours analyzing Con and Rhi over the years, and I almost had myself convinced they were not mates. Until the beginning of 2020, when I ran across the big spoil. I didn’t have to read it, but I did, and after the last book, I would have swung back around to that conclusion anyway. In short, Con and Rhi were no surprise. I enjoyed getting their flashbacks. I liked that Rhi made Con work for it. I almost wish we could have got the reveal a few books ago. That way, Con REALLY would have had to work for it, but that might have been too torturous.
The Usaeil reveal was a bit unexpected. I know some are a bit offended by it, but it makes a warped bit of sense. Honestly, I think it is a great final f you. Her past comes back to bite her in the butt. And Erith’s nice little secret, oh boy. That one was almost over the top, but I like where it will lead us.
Melisse and Henry, I approve, if it is what I think it is, and it better be. She is just awesome. I mean she’s like Maleficent, how is that not the coolest thing ever. And Balladyn still needs his happy ending. These are my wishes for the future. So with the mate of the King of Dragon Kings, the Usaeil saga is closed. Good frickin riddance. I will now continue my series reread so I can grin every time Con and Rhi start in on each other. I know your secret now.
What a beautiful, heartbreaking, emotional read that has been long awaited and desperately wanted for years! Jam packed with secrets and action and all the deliciousness that is Con and Rhi and the pent emotions just waiting to be released. It’s the end of an ear, a journey of too many books to count and it honestly had more than I could have ever wanted from “the end”. A reckoning is coming for evil that is Usaeil and Rhi is destined to be the one that must deliver it. With her dragon king by her side she could do anything and it’s going to be a long time coming. Con is finding that all the years of carefully controlling his emotions and everything around him has come to an end. Without his mate he is a hollow shell, nothing is worth while and he is lost. His friends are worried and desperately hope that they can find their way back to each other. Before it’s too late for all of them. This book is longer than the rest. It does justice to a story we have all longed for and it sets the scene for more than one story yet to be told. I cannot wait for what’s to come, yet mourn what has passed. Thank you so much to the author for years of stories and characters that have warmed my soul and brought me so much joy!
I really don’t know what to say. How do you review a book without given anything away? This is probably the most anticipated book of the summer. Questions have been answered but a few more have been left open. Secrets and surprises are revealed and of course someone wanting to destroy them.
Con is the King of the Dragon Kings and years ago he separated from his mate without giving her a reason. Now to stop an evil Fae, they must reunite to get her to show herself. But Con doesn’t plan on faking their relationship because he wants her back. Will his mate forgive him or will he loose her forever?
Constantine, Con to his brethren and friends, is the Dragon King of the Golds and the King of the Dragon Kings. He intends to correct the many wrongs he has committed over the centuries. Con deeply regrets giving up his mate, and he plans to win her back. To draw out their mutual enemy, Con and Rhiannon must pretend to publicly reconcile. Can Con convince Rhi to give him another chance? Or will fate intervene?
Rhiannon, Rhi to her friends and family, is a powerful Light Fae. She assumes the Light Fae throne only to needle her nemesis. Reluctantly, Rhi pretends to reunite with Con just to lure out their enemy. However, she discovers some shocking things about her ancestry. Will Rhiannon defeat Usaeil? Can she unite the two Fae factions? Will Rhi be able to forgive Con for breaking her heart?
Finally, Con’s mate is revealed! It was fun the first couple books wondering and guessing who would become his mate. I like how easily Con acknowledges the mistakes he has made over the years. It shows the kind of leader he is. What I admire the most about Con are the numerous sacrifices Con makes for his brethren. He put aside his own needs and happiness for his Dragon Kings. It was not easy, but he managed to endure.
Rhiannon has undergone tremendous growth throughout the series. As with Con, it was entertaining trying to figure out which Dragon King is hers. I am just happy that both finally got the closure they deserve. I like how Rhi never forsook her people. She may have been banned, but she never blamed her people for their queen’s evil. What I love the most about Rhi is her dedication and loyalty to those she lets close. Despite her heartache, she always came to the Dragon Kings aid.
INFERNO is book eighteen in Donna Grant’s widely popular paranormal romance series, DARK KING. It is important and necessary to read the prior books and novellas to understand the couple’s journey and development. The author may have closed a chapter with her dragon kings, but she has introduced the new one to come.
INFERNO is an exhilarating conclusion to a spellbinding and fascinating series. I am relieved this is not the end of the dragon kings. I cannot wait for the spin off series!

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy. There is a WHOLE lot going on in this book. All those dratted little loose ends are being tied up, but do not expect an easy road to a HEA. These two have waited for Eons and fate is not going to make things easy on them.
Con is always so in control, in charge, and responsible. He has sometimes caused his fellow kings to scratch their heads and wonder what the heck is he doing but he always has a plan. Even though that same plan has caused him and Rhi more heartache than any two people should!
Rhi. I so want to be her when I go grow up. She’s put together, always ready for action, and can coordinate like no-one I know. But can she really put all the hurt that Con caused behind her? Can they come out of this mess as even friends?
I loved, loved, loved this! Con and Rhi are amazing. They both faced so much trauma but seem to always gravitate back to each other. There are plenty of visits from characters from the other series, including Erith, Cael, and the Reapers. There are many happy moments, emotional moments, and some WTF moments. I don’t want to give anything away but my face scenes have to be Rhi being greeted by the other kings in her room and in the King’s Cavern. I needed tissues for that.
Was there a couple of squeeeeeek moments sure. But you also have to remember that family is more than blood and these characters have been alive for millennia, so leave any preconceived notions at the door and enjoy the ride.
I cannot wait to see what happens next in whatever series spins off from here
So many questions answered and so many more arise.
I was so excited for the conclusion and it didn’t disappoint! I could barely contain myself from skipping ahead to find out what happens!!!
But I’m so glad that we haven’t heard the last of Con, Rhi and all of their friends. More is definitely what I need from the Dragon Kings, Reapers, Druids, Fae, humans and……
5 stars!!!
I think that if Donna Grant want to end this series with a bang she certainly achieved it! I’m sad to see this series end because it was so addicting and you fall in love with the characters. You can’t help but want more! I think Donna deserves a standing ovation! Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Inferno (Dark Kings #18) by Donna Grant ….I have waited so long for Con’s story and I must say after reading the whole series I sort of guessed some of it but there were still a lot of surprises. I have always loved all the Kings and Rhi and Death and the Reapers. There is suspense, intrigue, love, misunderstandings, steam, some endings and also some new beginnings and things to come. This got us to a HEA and anxious to find out what is next.
Finally, Constantine, King of the Golds, King of Dragon Kings gets his book. It was worth the wait. For me Inferno was 6 hours and 20 minutes of complete happiness. I laughed, I cried… Donna Grant created a world and made me fall in love with the characters. This story has everything, action, romance, characters from multiple worlds and a couple of lovely plot twists that I didn’t see coming. Now I feel the need to go all the way back to the beginning…again. Happy reading!
