What a great ending to such an awesome series! I loved how everything was wrapped up. It was just perfect. I loved the ending. I would recommend this series.
So the epic conclusion to Talon is finally over and I gotta say that, though I have had my issues with the books, I am very happy and satisfied with the ending. Not counting the first book this was one of the best books this series had to offer.
Inferno had me on my toes throughout the entire journey, mainly because compared to the pervious books, it had more speed and less slow moments. I loved the hardships and struggles they had to go through. I loved the romance as well as the sibling conflict and Dante finally starting to open his eyes. I especially loved the ending fight and tragedy concluding the series on a seriously high and epic note not ever soon to be forgotten. Amongst every bit of these aspects that I loved though, questions and inconsistencies began to rise.
I kind of got the feeling that the author forgot something and then just remembered it and added it at the end. That being Garret’s dragon blood. It was never mentioned or shown in this conflict, like it never even happened. This I felt was a real shame since the story could have done so much with that, especially since the bitter sweetness of the romance was that it was ultimately short lived and this could have really built into something and given a much deeper romance, instead of haphazardly thrown in in the end to end the story on a good note.
The whole love triangle drama from previous books I felt was sort of given the same treatment. It was like Riley had never really been into Ember and had no issues seeing her together with Garret. Not only that but his interactions and relationship with Mist went from zero to a hundred seemingly out of nowhere. They were reluctant allies and then all of a sudden in love? There was no real build up to that what I could see, but felt rather like a rushed way to just solve the triangle drama issue that wasn’t even a thing in this book to begin with. At the same time though I like that Riley got his happy ending too, but it would have meant more and had a bigger impact on the story if there had been any sort of development to that and that any sort of hardship to get over Ember was actually shown.
There were some inconsistencies I noticed as well, like how (or rather why) Dante took them to the Elder wyrm when he seemed to have other intentions for the group which would have meant a way better outcome for him. As well as how they could fight the final battle with out of nowhere renewed strength when they one page previously had practically fallen apart in exhaustion. These were minor inconsistencies though in a much bigger picture and didn’t affect the story much anyway, so all in all I don’t have much more to say other than I am happy with the conclusion. Happy enough to give it four stars.
Well, we’ve come to the ending of this series. While well-written and imagined, it could have been epic and it wasn’t. So much potential that was basically just not realized. The characters were well-developed but did inexplicable things just for the sake of creating conflict or trouble. Life mates were created just to cause issues for the REAL love interest in this story. Just… good, but not great.
Still I’ll try another series by this author and hopefully it’s at least this good, but really hope that it’s much better.
I realize in this book how much I dislike Wes.
I really need you guys to know that. He’s a bird.
The rest of the characters are amazing though. I feel like the whole story came together seamlessly in this book. All the action and adventure came to a head. An epic battles happened, and now all is well in their world again.
Ember is now where she is meant to me. With Garrett by her side, she really can face anything. Facing her brother Dante in this one was such a powerful moment. You literally have been waiting for this to happen for a couple of books now, so I was glad that moment did not disappoint.
I can’t lie though, I still want more! I could read about these dragons all day long!
If you haven’t read this series, get out of your cave and do it!
