They say there’s no rest for the wicked, and New Orleans never knew how true that was until I came to town. Nobody told me that when I entered the transition, the very gifts of my demonic lineage would be used against me. Nobody warned me that the flames of Hell would burn from within. Or that I’d be driven to lust and madness, my chaotic magic becoming more wild and unruly than ever before. … than ever before.
The only way to save myself—and the world—was to give the beast what she wanted: control.
As if transitioning wasn’t enough, my presence was now known, and my enemies were mounting. While the beast was intent on claiming our Four Horsemen, there were things to be done. People to find. Demons to kill.
And when they make a deal with the devil—let’s just say that neither world will ever be the same again.
Long live the Queen.
If I can survive becoming immortal, that is.

I can’t tell you how much I’ve loved this series, and the third book is the best yet.
The development of Ruby, her alter ego, and her guys is fantastic and I binge read the whole thing in a matter of hours.
I can’t even begin to explain my reaction to Bandit and Moira.
This is a definite must-read from me, and I can’t wait for the next one.
Check it out
I was happy overall with book 3 of Kel’s Queen of the Damned series, some things made me smile and I couldn’t stop listening, some things kinda threw me and took me out of the story. I think Ruby and Julian frustrated me the most in this book to be honest. I think the stress with transitioning made it hard on everyone, but when the guys didnt trust her/ignored her and Ruby and the beast subsequently kept running away, it was a tad annoying/frustrating. I thought the sexy times was great, besides some of the things Julian did (I knew he would be more of a Dom, based on his control in previous books, but it wasn’t as smooth as I would have hoped). I loved the others in this and it hurt my heart with what Julian had to do to find Ruby and the beast (definitely put him back on my good side after all his bs from other books haha). I was again fascinated by the relationship between Ruby and Moira and Ruby and Bandit. I thought there were some good jokes and snark in this one too, I appreciate Kel kept that going throughout the series. The progression with the plot was sorta out of left field for me, it makes more sense in book 4 but I was kinda taken aback in this one with it.
Narration was good with some of the new characters we meet, but again the Aussie/Brit accent changes kept throwing me. I did think Hollie did a phenomenal job with all the tension, angst, feelings of love, heartache. 4/5 stars for the narration.
Ok, on to book 4! I really hope Kel comes back to this world at some point, I think it could be a lot of fun with all the side characters and additional storylines she could build off of, with some cameos hopefully
I love this series! Even with out the “Beast” Ruby is a force to be reckoned with, she just didn’t realize it until now.
The “Change” is coming and ready or not Ruby is going through it. Question is will the World survive it? Will Ruby?
Will she end up with the 4 mates the “Beast” and Ruby have chosen? What will Bandit and Moira get up to?
This was a fun, well written wild ride with plenty of heat, action, swear words and snark … a little something for everyone!
This series just keeps getting better and better. The characters keep growing and the story gaining more and more momentum. I can’t wait to see where it all ends in Brimstone Nightmares, I have a feeling my heart might break a little. Amazing series!
Kel Carpenter is such a good writer. I prefer this series over Daizlei Academy. This book did feel a bit slow to me, compared to the other books in the series. That’s not to say that I don’t think it’s a good book. I totally do, and I’m really looking forward to book 4. It just feels a little dragged out at times, but that could have a lot to do with Ruby’s transition. All in I think it’s another good book in a great series, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Kel Carpenter’s Queen of the Damned has been a really wonderful ride and the third and latest, Infernal Desires, is no exception. Ruby, the lead here, is a beautifully complex characters. She’s growing into her powers in this book and having lots of troubles with control of her demon. Luckily her Four Horsemen are there to help. Unluckily she runs from them to New Orleans. The Horsemen will do what’s needed to find her and get her back before things go too far. All of this makes for a pretty epic tale. The one caveat is for newcomers. I suspect they have no idea what I’m talking about. That’s ‘cause this series really needs to be read in order (don’t worry, though, the prior books were great). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
As always this author pulls me into the book wishing that I can just hold Bandit LOL I love that little trash panda. Ruby’s character growth is perfect and it shows how she is dealing with the beast within. It is really hard writing a review without spoilers, if you want to know more you gotta read the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
