Read the complete Infernal Descent trilogy in one volume for the very first time. Hell just got a whole lot hotter…The devil has taken Ciera’s sister. To save her, she has to travel through all nine circles of his domain, filled with demons, monsters and sinners.Luckily, she’s not alone. Accompanied by a fallen angel, a werewolf and a hellhound, she ventures further into the lands of the dead … further into the lands of the dead than any human ever before. But there’s a reason the living are not supposed to be in Hell, and with every circle, there are more enemies to overcome.
With the devil out to stop them, Ciera and her men need to hurry before it’s too late for both her and her little sister…
An action packed fantasy adventure based on Dante’s Inferno, but with a kickass heroine instead of a lovesick old poet, and a reverse harem romance that’ll make you swoon.

I fell in Love with Skye’s Cat Assassins series and looking for some Halloweenish books I thought, what could be better than Lucifer and his ilk. It just so happens that this trilogy was coming out as one book so I knew it would be perfect. Alas I took longer than Halloween to read it all.
Hell’s Calling
In this first book we meet Ciera as Lucifer sort of breaks his word. She has signed a contract with ‘Luke’ for her soul so she would be able to provide for her little sister Tris. Now with Tris crying for her, she tries to fight off Luke’s messenger and ends up unconscious. When she wakes, Tris is gone and she gets some advice and direction from her elderly neighbor Noella.
After Maro kind of introduces himself and ascertains her reasons for wanting to descend to Hell. He agrees to help her, and the adventure begins.
We meet some of the usual folks such as Charon at the river Acheron, as Ciera gets her first visual of Hell. Then and a surprising one, seeing Homer at the first circle. She will have to make it through the ten circles of Hell to get to the center where Lucifer aka Luke is holding her sister.
At the second circle there is Minos, but it is at the third circle that things get even more interesting as we meet Cerberus, the three-headed hellhound who is the gatekeeper for this circle. Who just happens to turn into a very sexy male. At this point Ciera has started thinking of Maro as ‘Her angel’ which in itself is intriguing. It’s her reaction to Cerberus that starts confusing her a bit, she’s on a quest to free her sister not get the hots over an angel and a hellhound, who just happens to turn into a very sexy male.
It’s there that Plutus, a werewolf, joins the crew, his is the fourth circle and even though there appears to be a feud between him and Maro they need him get across the river Styx. There is The City of Dis, the fifth circle, guarded by fallen angels and the Furies on the other side of the river Styx.
I’m not going to continue naming folks since at this point we have the ones important to this book. Ciera has the angel, the hellhound and the werewolf on her side, and they are both distracting and needed.
I couldn’t stop reading and the descriptions of the circles are Hell indeed. I am just going to continue reading as I need to know what happens next.
Hell’s Weeping
Now this book opens with quite the surprise as the gate to the sixth circle opens and the dead swarm through. Ciera also notices that the closer to the center they get the more the glow of Maro fades.
Led into an ambush by a centaur named Oumy who has rainbow hair, it looks like Ciera’s journey might come to an end here. It’s quite the battle.
Next up is the centaur Chiron who just happens to be Cerberus’ brother. Not a calm reunion at all. But it’s the questioning that has Ciera wondering even more about her angel Maro. At least until he clarifies his answer to her.
Then the forest of the seventh circle, followed by rains of hellfire. It’s here that things really heat up (pun intended) between Ciera and her guys as they are trapped waiting for the firestorm to end.
Of course things just get worse and there are many surprises here. I did some laughing, some crying and needed to hydrate a bit too. Definitely plenty of heat in more than one way.
I’m just going to move on to the final book in this trilogy, I really have to finish, I am hoping for a happy ending here.
Hell’s Burning
After the events in the second book, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I began this one. we still have three more circles to navigate, and I’m still sniffling. Plutus isn’t with them, their experiment seems to have failed, but a voice tells Ciera that he lives at least for now, but she needs to hurry to the center.
The eighth circle has 10 bolgias, and you have to know by now that everything is hellish, yes I meant that pun. Thanks to, and I’m still giggling, ‘Papa Smurf’, Ciera has a unique way to find their way through after they fall into a place that appears to be under the eighth bolgia. Unfortunately that little gift also makes her very sick and there are plenty of dangers here as well.
The ninth circle holds a surprising cold and more as this tale brings us closer to the center.
As Ceb thaws Plutus and warms both Ciera and Maro.I confess to more sniffles, and a Hell yeah as Ciera decides she’s had enough and calls out to Lucifer and Maro’s fallen brother Marbas answers.
Lots of hold your breath action, a not so pleasant revelation for Ciera and so much more had me turning the pages.
I loved every page of this trilogy. Don’t miss it!
This is a great series to read. It has up and down with emotions. The journey that Ciera goes on to get her sister back from the depths of hell. On her journey she meets an angel Maro, a wolf Plutus and hellhound Ceberus who help her along her journey. As you read a long you can’t help but love Ciera and her determination to save her sister. The attraction with her and the guys gets physical and so hot. There is tragedy and truths revealed that is shocking. I laughed, cried and yelled hell yeah. I loved all the characters. This is a series you definitely want to read.

3.5 stars
This series is about a girl who will do anything to save her sister. While the trip through the levels of hell may not be easy it’s worth it for ciera.
Ceira is a very determined character which I like alot she has her mind set on rescuing her sister and nothing and nobody will stand in her way. Along the way she meets some people she could possibly trust but is hell really the place to trust someone. I really enjoyed all the different layers of hell and the creative ways of torture. We got to know the guys more and more throughout the trilogy. Wish we could have got to know them a bit more. I feel like there is still some unanswered questions about them. I loved the curveball with tris, didn’t see that coming. However I felt like it was so short. Throughout the book it was the big endgoal and then it went so quick.
I’m sure we will get a better look into this during Tris book
Hell’s Calling:
What a fantastically well put together story. It is unique and full of action from start to finish. Ciera, Maro, Ceb, and Plutus have this great chemistry that is felt throughout the story. The descriptions are so life like that you can picture them as if right in front of you. The three men have this alpha personality that is protective, caring, and loving. Ciera is feisty, stubborn, intelligent and strong. They make a great team. The story is well written and beautifully developed with beautifully developed characters. It is a must read.
Hell’s Weeping:
This of course is the second book in the series and what a ride it is. Our band of fantastically developed characters are venturing further into the circles of hell with so many trials and tribulations throughout their way. We learn a bit more about our characters as we see them growing. They fight hard and have moments of humor in the story. It is well written and has beautifully developed characters. The flow of the story is superb. I love the story has the Dante’s Inferno twist to it. This is a must read as well as the first book in the series.
Hell’s Burning:
This is the final book in the series and boy what an ending. It has so many twists and turns with our characters having to endure so many trials. It doesn’t disappoint but does have heartache, humor, action and even love. It is well written and with the ability to draw you in and not let go. It is full of descriptions that you can just picture in front of you. The characters have grown so much and we have learned a lot about our characters. The love and evil are felt throughout the story with hope added in. The entire series is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.
Infernal Descent: The Complete Reverse Harem Trilogy
by Bea Paige (Author), Skye MacKinnon (Author)
I received an complimentary eARC from the authors and I am choosing to leave a voluntary, fair and honest review.
Don’t tell my Classics professors! This is a far more entertaining into the afterlife than Dante Alighieri’s! There humor, a strong, smart heroine who would rather die that be a damsel in distress and three smoking (in one case, literally) hot guys!.
Cierda take the place of Dante as the Orphic wanderer into the various circles and punishments for sins. She is lead by her harem-to-be, Cerberus – yes the three headed pup that guards the entry into hell, Maro – an angel who did not choose a side during the war in heaven and Pluutus – a werewolf who seems to bear a Disney name in disguise.
Ms. Page and Ms. MacKinnon stay very, very close to the source material, working Cierda’s change from a overly strong, scared girl seeking her sister, Beatrice, into a woman with self-awarness and three men she loves and they love her in return.
The book, itself, is stunning with the chapter headers bearing the beautifully designed images o the three men. The covers are plain but still gorgeous in a clean, old-fashioned way. It reminded me o the 1920s edition o the Divine Comedy my father had. It was leather bound with the stunningly simple front pages.
Characters in this book are not one single thing. It is clear that the concept of every light soul having dark and every dark soul having light is carried through with the shape shifters having two forms. This adds a complexity rarely seen in genre lit. Cierda and her family also are more complex with more secrets than you can shake an Imp’s tail at.
The prose itself is delicate at times and roaring with sensual tension at others.
I truly enjoyed the story and recommend it highly – both for Classics Students who need a breather from dense Italian Poetry or just someone who needs to all in love with four amazing people

I loved this trilogy! Ciera mistakenly sold her soul to the devil. But when he takes her younger sister instead, she will go through all the layers of Hell to rescue her. Along her journey she meets an angel, a three-headed dog that also turns into a man, and a werewolf. As she’s falling in love with all three men, she faces unspeakable horrors and heartbreak.
I received an ARC from the authors. This is my honest review.
