A terrifying thriller that will crawl beneath your skin…and leave fresh blood on every page. Across America a mysterious disease is turning ordinary people into raving, paranoid murderers who inflict brutal horrors on strangers, themselves, and even their own families. Working under the government’s shroud of secrecy, CIA operative Dew Phillips crisscrosses the country trying in vain to capture … trying in vain to capture a live victim. With only decomposing corpses for clues, CDC epidemiologist Margaret Montoya races to analyze the science behind this deadly contagion. She discovers that these killers all have one thing in common—they’ve been contaminated by a bioengineered parasite, shaped by a complexity far beyond the limits of known science.
Meanwhile Perry Dawsey—a hulking former football star now resigned to life as a cubicle-bound desk jockey—awakens one morning to find several mysterious welts growing on his body. Soon Perry finds himself acting and thinking strangely, hearing voices…he is infected.
The fate of the human race may well depend on the bloody war Perry must wage with his own body, because the parasites want something from him, something that goes beyond mere murder.

Part Stephen King, part Chuck Palahniuk, Infected blends science fiction and horror into a pulpy masterpiece of action, terror, and suspense. Three recommendations: don’t read it at night, or just after you’ve eaten a full meal, or if you’re weak of heart. You’ve been warned!
The scariest alien invasion book you will ever read. Seriously!
Sigler is masterful at grabbing the reader by the throat and refusing to let go. Just when I thought I knew what abyss he was leading me across, he knocked the bridge out from under… I think I screamed the whole way down… Infected is a marvel of gonzo, in-your-face, up-to-the-minute terror.
This book is funny but scary. Sigler has a knack for delivering the jokes and making you think….”can this be real?” Anything can happen..inclusive aliens!
Sigler is the Richard Matheson of the 21st Century… smart and creepy, Infected is a flawless thinking-person’s thriller. Bravo to a bold new talent!
A must read. Scott Sigler is a great writer and keeps you wanting to read more.
This is one of my favorite series and i devoured all three in a couple of weeks.
A truly twisted tale.
I don’t generally read horror/thriller stories, this being another attempt to read “outside my comfort zone,” so it’s possible my poor reception of this book was due, at least in part, to the fact that I was so far outside the target audience.
I was thoroughly drawn into the story by the prologue, which was well-written, engaging, and …
Pretty good twist on the standard of scary infectious disease books. First in a series and I will be getting the next one.
I didn’t care for this book. It didn’t grab me from the beginning. Never did interest me.
At times this book is a little slow especially when the author spends time on the medical progression of the infestation but it was still an entertaining read . I recommend it.
One of the very very few books that gave me nightmares. Incredibly creepy and gruesome and just when you think it can’t get worse…it does.
I’m interested in any books on possible world wide mass infections, even the fictional ones.
The most original monster(s) in SciFi. And they are growing in their bodies!
