Infatuated is the first book by Cara Wade that I have had the pleasure of reading. I loved following Lana and Tristen’s story as they are brought together by her family visiting his family’s ranch for two weeks. Lana, soon to high school senior and Tristen soon to leave for collage. I love the characters of this first book in the series and look forward to reading more as they are released.
A summer romance as steamy as the season’s heat. Watching these characters experience young love is like a walk down memory lane in a way. We can all remember the excitement of first love, and this novel captures that so well. A lot of writers do not write teens like teens. Yes, the characters are teenagers, legal adults, but teenagers. It is so refreshing to read something that actually shows them acting like teens. You find yourself rooting for them. You don’t want this to be a Baby and Johnny, Dirty Dancing, one and done. You to see them pull it off, and I for one can’t wait to read the second book.
The romance is exactly what I have come to expect from this author. It’s sexy as hell, but with these two there is also that feeling of discovery. It’s exactly what it should be. There is also a great little easter egg reference to one of the author’s previous works. Seeing that had me laughing and cheering.
First I must start by saying that I don’t usually read teen romances but I really enjoy Cara Wades writing style so I thought I’d give this a whorl (not to mention, they don’t say teens throughout the duet so that urged me onward). Secondly I want to tell readers that I am SO Glad that I decided to give this duo a try and I highly recommend you do as well. The storyline is amazing and very well written, the characters were well defined and their troubles were very realistic. The author took what could very easily have been real life adventures for a young couple and turned them into a very heartwarming, touching love story.
In Part one of the Stallion Ranch duo we meet Lana and Triston, a couple of eighteen year olds dealing with senior year troubles and learning about life experiences. Lana is a shy innocent girl who comes out of her shell during a two week vacation to Black Stallion Ranch with her parents. It’s here she meets Triston. I won’t spoil the story but just know that reading about these two and the joy and heartaches of first true love was stunning. But they only have two weeks together and Lana lives across the country. What happens when they part? Will they find a way to stay together or is this just young love that’s not meant to be? This reader can’t wait for book 2 of the duet, Enamored, when Triston and Lana meet again as adults. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
Lana and Tristan completely stole my heart with their story. This was sweet, beautiful, magical and oh so heartbreaking.
Lana is a book nerd, however, she become friends with one of the “popular” girls are her private school. She was looking forward to her 18th birthday and a giant party, until her parents decided it was a great time to go on a vacation to a ranch out in Wyoming. Tristan is a football player; he is getting reading to start college and works on his family’s ranch. When these two run into each other for the first time there are sparks, there is something. Can there really be anything when they only have two weeks together?
Lana and Tristan have an instant connection. They are drawn to each other. It is young love, but you can feel that deeper connection inside both of them. Their romance is a whirlwind, it is sweet and with the setting of a gorgeous ranch in Wyoming it is so easy to get swept up in all their emotions. Of course, there is some drama and they have to overcome some things because what relationship is truly perfect?
Infatuated left me hanging with a broken heart and tears in my eyes, so I am reading for book two, Enamored to mend that heart and throw my back into the beautiful world that Cara created at Black Stallion Ranch. This is a MUST READ book!
Lana is a bit of a typical book nerd starting to get used to attention from the guy she’s crushed on forever when her parents squash her plans and take her out to Wyoming for a two week family vacation at Black Stallion Ranch. She thinks she’ll be miserable for two weeks, especially without a phone signal but that suddenly changes when her eyes land on Tristen. He literally just broke up with his long time high school girlfriend and is not expecting to meet someone else so soon but the attraction to Lana is there immediately. There is definitely some insta-lust going on from both ends as a summer fling is started. There are several obstacles that come up but not a ton of over the top drama. The end is a bit of a cliffhanger but it’s expected in a duet series. And of course book two’s release is scheduled for only 3 weeks later so not too long to wait. I’m looking forward to seeing how this one works out.
Ok.. I’m going to start off by being extremely honest and say that after reading the first chapter, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book. BUT I am sooooo glad I kept reading because boy was I wrong!!!
This book had me hook line and sinker the minute Tristan met Lana. He is one spunky cowboy and Lana is that shy book loving girl.
This was a really enjoyable read with a little teen drama and a cliffhanger ending! What is going to happen with them? Will then end up working things out?
I have to admit and say that I couldn’t help but laugh at “do you want to learn?” And “do you want me to teach you?” (You will know what I mean when you read that part). It was completely unexpected and I really had no idea that the story was going to turn in that direction.
But hey, getting to see a little of Tristan’s dirty side give me mooooore
Looking forward to reading the next book and seeing what happens next!
Lana was upset that she has to go on vacation with her family. She meets Tristan and he shows her how she is to be treated. They have this fast relationship and will a misunderstanding tear them apart.
4.4 stars
This is the first book in the Black Stallion Ranch and the first book I have read by the author. Lana is a seventeen-year-old high school student. She is a bookworm who is coming to grips with her newfound status, thanks to befriending popular girl Brittany when she was tasked with helping her with her studies. Just as her life is about to be blown wide open, her family decides to take a trip to the Black Stallion Ranch for two weeks. To say that Lana is less than thrilled is an understatement, until she meets Tristan. Tristan is the eighteen-year-old son of the owners of the ranch and he is beyond gorgeous. As the two are close in age, they spend time together and get to know each other. The chemistry between Lana and Tristan is off the charts but, like some teenage relationships, they are prone to misinterpretation and believing inaccurate information. If you like reading YA books then this is one for you. It brings back that feeling of first love and the characters just give you that warm fuzzy feeling. The book does end in a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see where this journey takes these two. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
It’s important to make it clear that this book is part one of Lana and Tristan’s story and it ends in a cliffhanger. I used to be adamantly opposed to cliffies, and having no warning about them ahead of time really annoyed me. If I know up front, I can prepare myself as I start the book. I would have missed out on some really exceptional writing, had I passed up several duets, which would have been my loss. Plus, we always have the option of waiting until the story is complete to start reading it.
This is my first book by this writer and I went into it completely blind. When I realized the main characters were high school age, my first impulse was to run in the opposite direction, because I never, ever read teens in the new adult genre. But I had made a commitment to read it, so I dove in, and in no time at all the story captivated me and the characters stole my heart.
I avoid teenage characters for several reasons, the biggest being their immaturity and the drama over every little thing. For me, there’s nothing worse than selfish immaturity and manufactured angst. So any writer who can win me over by making me enjoy something I usually refuse to read makes me appreciate her skill and talent that much more.
At the close of her junior year, Lana Robinson’s parents insist she go with them on a two-week vacation at the Black Stallion Ranch. Lana is sure it will be horrible, having to leave her friends and being stuck in a place with sketchy cell phone service, until she meets Tristan Ellis. It’s his last summer of helping his parents on the ranch before he leaves for college and a promising football career in the fall, and he and Lana hit it off almost from the beginning.
This book has the expected elements associated with teenagers, but very little contrived angst, which I appreciated. It also doesn’t get bogged down with excessive internal dialogue, and the characters are refreshingly mature. If you like YA, you’ll love this story. These characters will easily work their way into your heart, so don’t miss out on Tristan and Lana’s story.
I loved this story by Cara
When Lana’s book dreams become reality in the form of Tristian she realises her holiday away from home might not be so bad after all
Brilliant story that had me hooked and i cannot wait to see what happens next
I was drawn in immediately and didn’t want to put it down; I was done in one day!
The characters are cute and funny, and the plot is realistic but not predictable in the least! There is an Easter egg which made me LMAO.
If you haven’t read Cara’s books this could be a great place to start!!
Hooked from the first page of this coming of age romance.Tristan is a heartthrob in cowboy boots. The fireworks between these to will be sure to make you blush with them .Lana is a city girl who has goals & dreams already mapped out for herself. Tristan & Lana’s story brought me back to memories of my first love. I’m not so patiently waiting for enamored .
Part 1 of Tristan and Lana’s story. Their story starts when they first meet, when they were teenagers. How their love story started and then how it ends. I enjoyed this story and the background to Tristan and Lana’s story. It does end in a cliffhanger, but book 2 is available!!
