Jumping off right where the last book left off, the story takes on a frenetic pace for most of this quick read. As Georgia is held captive, and Walker and the rest of the team tirelessly search for her, we are given a full view of their relationship. While Walker is furious at Georgia for putting herself at risk, yet again, he’s also terrified of losing her, and he’s worried that his emotions will get in the way to being able to save her. While for Georgia, she realizes almost immediately what a bad situation she has put herself in. But as things come to a head with the crazed serial killer, we are presented with a new mystery, and another interesting cliffhanger for Georgia and Walker. It’s been an interesting journey so far, and I’m definitely on board to see where this is going to go next.
It really is a shame. I was truly enjoying this story. I was annoyed with the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, but I was engrossed in the story so I continued on. Book 2 is only a few chapters, not even 2.5 hours and it ends in another cliffhanger. This is just ludicrous. Save yourself the aggravation and buy a book that didn’t go through the shedder.
This picks up where the prior book left off. Detective Sergeant Georgia Kentley is about to enter the grips of a madman. A serial killer. There are surprises and twists that were unexpected. I was pulled in from the beginning and couldn’t stop listening.
Speaking of listening, I like Crystal Crockett, generally speaking, but not for a book set in London where all of the characters are Brits when she is obviously American.
Story: 5 stars
Narration: 3 stars
Inexplicable Fate by Hanleigh Bradley is a police romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Crystal Crockett.
I absolutely love Georgia’s character. She is independent and strong minded and a bit stubborn. I love the chemistry between Walker and Georgia. The story does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t much of a surprise since it’s the second book in the four book series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Irreversible Fate to be released on audio.
Crystal did an amazing job on the narration. She really brought the story to life.
Really good sequel. There was a lot of action packed into this short sweet story. I got a kick out of her panic at the idea of marriage. Looking forward to the final book.
Georgia and Walker’s story continues. Georgia is knowingly walking into trap to save a life. So her boss and boyfriend Walker is bound and determined to save his stubborn woman. I enjoyed the action and romance in this story. The cast of characters is entertaining. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Determined to save a serial killer’s targeted victim, Detective Sergeant Georgia Kentley is walking into a trap — and she is well aware of that. But with a life on the line, she won’t back off. Her only hope for survival is that DCI Walker Trent, her boss and boyfriend, will back her up and do what is needed to keep her alive; and it’s not an easy job. But maybe this time, will he be too late?
There is a surprise in store as well as Georgia finds out who the mysterious partner of the killer is! Totally unexpected! The story line is awesome and the characters amazing, so grab your copy and stay on the edge of your seat to see how this all goes down!
I really like this series. I love Hanleigh’s books, they’re relatable and they feel real. This book was really well-written, I definitely recommend that all books in the series be read in order.
Starting only moments after where book 1 stopped, this puts you right in the middle of the action! This is a well written story; however, with this book I feel that some what made book 1 so charming was left out, like the banter between Walker and Georgia. So many new twists were in this book some more unpredictable than the next. This is a wonderful addition to the Fate Series. I received a complementary copy and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
Although Georgia may be impulsive, but she doesn’t lack courage. She is determined to bring her culprit down before he claims a new victim but the surprise is on her when she finds out who his partner is.
Trent, her senior officer and boyfriend, is determined to save her from herself but will he get there in time?
Full of twists and suspense this story leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.
You definitely need to read Book 1 to understand what is happening here. Hanleigh Bradley continues Detective Sergeant Georgia’s attempt to save a serial killer’s current victim. Book 1 revolves around the characters, their history, their banter, and the personal and professional relationships developed. This book is filled with action, suspense, and their thoughts when things got scary. I am very excited for Book 3!
Another amazing read in the series. Well written with great characters in a good storyline.

The second book in ’The Fate’ serie was a good read…but not as good as the first one. This was a ’wrap up’ – continuing and get the story together, from the first book.
I missed the story around with all the characters and the banter.
It was still a good read and it was hard to put it down when I needed to do other things then reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a brilliant book 2 in this series and it is a real Thrill ride.
I was on the edge of my seat and my heart felt like it was bursting out of my chest.
I am afraid to just blurt everything out and spoil this fantastic story for everyone so I am restraining myself. So what I will say is that I thoroughly enjoyed this Romantic suspense story and I did not want to put it down.
I Loved it and highly recommend it.
This is Book 2 in “The Fate Series” and the well written storyline continues to flow smoothly right into Book 2 with the characters continuing to be well written with great detail and depth! As I turned each and every page I felt like Georgia and Walker jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
I absolutely loved this book. It was well written and very addictive
I have not read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
We pick up from book 1 with Georgia taking off in Trents car to go after Mick, to stop him, from murdering another girl! She gets more than she bargains for! Not being one who wants to be saved EVER, she’s hoping Trent finds her in time. No one knows who Micks partner is, and they are in for a big surprise! Npw they just need to figure out why all this is happening! We will have to wait for the conclusion in book 3! I can’t wait! This story has been very well written and keeps you engrossed in the action!
