Inevitable is an emotionally charged, second chance romance.
Aubrey
The day I lost my parents was the day he saved me.
Jax Stonewood—my best friend’s older brother.
He was never meant to be my savior. My first real love.
And certainly not my greatest heartbreak.
I spent years getting over him and now he’s back—the nation’s most streamed artist and eligible bachelor… but I’m not falling for … and eligible bachelor… but I’m not falling for him again.
Jax and I are done.
Jax
The day I saved her was the day I lost myself to her.
Aubrey Whitfield was only ever supposed to be my brother’s best friend.
Not my life. Not the one I would die for.
Definitely not the one that would break me.
She’s built up walls to shut me out but I won’t leave her behind again.
Our souls are welded together.
Aubrey has always been mine. I’ll make her remember…Whether she likes it or not.
We’re inevitable.

“Shain Rose… I have a feeling that name is about to become well known in the indie world…This book doesn’t read at all like a debut. The writing is solid. The emotion felt. The plot woven together so seamlessly. Simply put, I was blown away, and you will be too!”-Heather Orgeron, USA TODAY Bestselling author

I loved everything about this book! The main character is intriguing, the world building amazing, and the writing completely flows. I found this to be an easy book to get through in a couple of days and it only left me wanting more by this author. I am so glad I was given a chance to read this.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Totally captivating and heart wrenching, I’m pleasantly surprised this is the author’s debut novel!
Keep an eye out for this author folks! The writing was strong solid and engaging!
Complex and complicated this emotional second chance romance was full of twists and turns.
The characters were so well developed, they were realistic and honestly not always likable. Their story spans years and the story they gave up tell was well worth reading.
This is book 1 in the Stonewood Brothers series and I cannot wait to see what’s in store next!
4.5 stars!
Inevitable is the first book in the Stonewood Brothers Series. In this book we are introduced to several very interesting characters specifically we get the story of Jax Stonewood and Aubrey Whitfield.
This book is intense right from the start. My heart broke for what Aubrey had to deal with growing up. She tried her best to keep what she was going through hidden, but eventually everything came out. The one thing that helped her overcome everything was her best friend’s brother Jax. She had a crush on him but never expected him to return her feelings.
However, things take a turn when Jax leaves town and leaves Aubrey broken hearted. Years later he is back, and this time he doesn’t plan on letting her go.
Get ready to hold onto your heart because you will be taken on one heck of an emotional roller coaster! This book had me hooked and I’m sure you will be too.

This is the 1st in a new series and what an awesome introduction this story is. This is Aubrey and Jax’ story and is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. This talented author has done an amazing job in penning this story which is a heart-wrenching 2nd chance romance, which had me totalling captivated throughout this riveting tale. I cannot wait to read more from this author, and I highly recommend for all readers.
I don’t even know how to start this review. Jax saves Aubrey from tragedy and then walks away. Six years later he is back with unfinished business. I could not connect with Jax but I loved Aubrey, even with all her issues. This story was complicated and had twists and turns. For me personally the book was just okay. I have read other reviews that people loved this book and I encourage other readers to make their own opinion on this book, but for me it was just an okay read.
Inevitable by Shain Rose is the First book in the Stonewood Brothers Series. This is the story of Jax Stonewood and Aubrey “Brey” Whitfield. With Jax and Aubrey’s story takes us on a journey that starts when they a younger and continues on until their present day. Aubrey had had it easy being a child of an abusive home but the one safe and constant happiness was the Stonewood family. Aubrey even fell for Jax but things didn’t go as planned and Aubrey felt her heartbreak. But now with him near again she is working to protect her heart but love can’t be stopped.
Enjoyed their story.
This story is explosive, Mandy for@janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
Inevitable has had my feelings going haywire, my heart broke for Aubrey but to read about a young woman who has faced the devil and barely survived to tell the tale. Yet since that fateful day, her life and world are not her own. Can Aubrey finally climb the rest of the way from the depths to finally live as she should? Or will she stay int he hell that was created?
Jax Stonewood is more than a myth or a legend has decided to dance with the devil but at what cost? Jax is trying to play the savior to the one woman who holds his entire world in her hands, she just doesn’t realize it yet. Can Jax finally with the battle and take down his demons or will the devil eat him hole?
Shain Rose has blown me away with Jax and Aubrey’s story. One I was not wholly prepared for. But soon found myself lost in their story rooting for them to overcome the battle before them. This story was filled with so much angst, emotion, love, and support. That I cant wait to read more.
One thing I asked myself when closing the kindle on this wonderful book…. Where has this author been hiding? With Inevitable being her first novel, I was blown away at the level of talent in the writing that typically comes from a couple books already under your belt. This author will definitely be on my watch list to one click as soon as new releases come out!
This book spans over many years. We start out when they are in High School and continue past college graduation. Aubrey’s life hasn’t been an easy one. Growing up in an abusive home, her father was horrible!
One thing that stays constant in Aubrey’s life is the Stonewood Family. They have taken her in as if one of their own. Especially the hot alpha Jax. Her first love, her only love, the one to truly break her heart.
When the one who shatters your heart, is now back…. It is hard to forget and forgive. Yet with his strong upbringing, he is determined to win back the one he truly only loved. Although sometimes, I wondered if Jax was truly doing the right things in winning her back!!!
This book had me hooked from the get go. Its a very well written story of second chance love. Can’t wait to read more about the Stonewood Brothers!!
I was given the chance to read this by the author and I’m floored by the writing. It’s a stellar debut!
This story is woven with extreme care to detail and these characters will dominate your life until you flip the last page. They are completely themselves and this second chance romance screams that you can’t avoid fate.
LOVED IT!
I was given the chance to read this by the author and MAN. I just couldn’t believe that this was her debut. So fantastic!
This is a story you need to sit down with. You need to revel in it, marinate in the vibrancy of the world inside the pages and BE with these characters and their stories. It’s a bit longer than many contemporaries are, but I loved every word and there wasn’t anything put in just for the sake of taking up extra space. Just know that you will accidentally devote your life to it for a while once you start – but you won’t regret it!
The writing is tight, the dialogue natural, the descriptions lush and engaging and the whole storyline is so wonderfully intricate and well fleshed out. As many times as I wanted to punch Jax in the face and shake him to explain why things weren’t ever going to work because he was being exactly the opposite of what Aubrey needed, he did redeem himself and she didn’t need my help at all which was so wonderful to find in a female lead. These characters are unapologetically themselves and I am HERE FOR IT. I love them apart even when I want to yell at them and I adore them together. The chemistry is HOT and getting burned is one expected side effect!
Can’t wait for the next one! Mystery brother Jett has me intrigued!
HEARTBREAKING & INFURIATING!!!!
This one started out amazing for me. The author laid a great foundation for a relationship! A relationship where the two main characters knew each other at a young age and grew together based on a friendship that felt like family before a heartbreaking and dangerous situation cinched their connection as more than that! A traumatic experience wove these two so close together that you’d think no one could break them apart. He helped bring her back to life and then he abandoned her.
When he returns, she has to decide if their love and the connection they have is more powerful than the pain caused by not just his abandonment but everything that came before and even during… and is it going to be strong enough to endure what’s still to come?
I’m going to reveal more about this one than I normally do with most of my reviews. I adored watching the relationship between these two build and I was already so invested in their romance no matter how complicated it already seemed it would be because of the tragic experience they had together. I couldn’t wait to see how the author healed both of them. What I did not enjoy is the actions of the Hero between when he abandoned her and they met back up during the present time in addition to his excuses that he gave her about his actions during their time apart. My heart was bursting with love when I learned his reasons behind his songs during their time apart and what he was attempting to do with his music but I feel like he just stomped all over those very words of love he wrote for her with his own actions towards other women right after he would finish singing those songs.
To me, his words spoke of his great love for her but I never felt his actions lived up to those same feelings!
I had high hopes for this one when I found it and read the blurb and now I kind of just feel let down. The author set it up so perfectly and I was hooked so quickly. I started out feeling like this was going to be one of those EPIC love stories that you find yourself getting lost in and losing track of time but then I feel like it just fell flat after he came back. I feel like she endured so much pain at the hands of others and then him! There’s just this huge part of me that feels like he never redeemed himself enough to gain her forgiveness and earn her back.
I started out excited about this one. Lots of good backstory. Then present day just did not measure up. Like, at all. The only character that was even remotely interesting was the heroine‘s friend with benefits. I’d like to read a book about him. Unfortunately, it would probably be as repetitive as this one. Yes, he left. Yes, he broke your heart. Yes, you still love him. But… I don’t know what to do! Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
I fell in love with this cast of characters. I was drawn in from the beginning and could barely put the book down and get some sleep. You could feel the angst and emotion. Though I think there could have been a little less of the back and forth struggle I still felt it right along with them. And I would have liked a little more in the ending but I’m just greedy.
I was swept up in Inevitable from chapter one. I couldn’t put it down! I finished this and was FLOORED to find out it was a debut novel. Shain Rose writes like a seasoned pro.
Aubrey, or Brey, lived a thousand lives before she even became an adult. She’s dealt with tough stuff her whole life.
Jax was the boy next door who loved to tease her and pretend she didnt exist… until she came into his radar the day he saved her. From then on, there was a tether tying the two of them together. A rope they could never untie.
Inevitable was an amazing book full of angst and deep rooted love trying to get back to the surface.
OH MY LORDY…
I can not believe this is a debut book!
For a new to me (and new to publishing) author this book was outstanding.
I could feel the fear, love and loss that was portrayed; the anguish and the longing.
I absolutely adored Aubrey and Jax.
Their relationship did give me a bit of whiplash at times… but, it was all worth the emotional rollercoaster in the end.
4.5 stars.
I am looking forward to the next book!!
This book is the first book that I’ve read by this author and it was phenomenal. It will keep you hooked right from the beginning. It holds your attention throughout, grips you and won’t let you go until you finished it.
Aubrey ‘Brey ‘ has a horrible father who treated her and her mother terribly. After a complete tragedy when the house is on fire Jax makes a decision there and then to save Audrey.
Jax ran into that burning house without a second thought and saved that young woman life, little did he know the affect it would have on both of them. She is his life, he is her savior.
After leaving one night without a word Aubrey built up walls around her heart. Then six years pass. She swears nothing will change and she ain’t going down that road again.
But can they ever really be together?
(NO SPOILERS).
Between Jax and Brey they had such a strong connection that even though time passed nothing could break it. These two really are soul mates.
This book will have your emotions all over the place and I found myself really rooting for them both. These characters have been through so much together and you could really feel for them as if they were real.
I absolutely couldn’t put this book down and I desperately needed to see how this story plays out. Can these two souls have there second chance?
A Second chance love story. This author writes fantastically and really brings this story to life. I honestly can’t wait to read the next books this author writes
I really enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely recommend this book when it gets released, I’m so glad that I’ve found another fabulous author.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released 19th MARCH 2020.
WOW…Okay, I had a lot of emotions in this book. I felt like my heart was pumping throughout trying to figure out how this would all come together. I will tell you this, it is a rollercoaster ride!!
At the beginning I LOVED Jax (and of course Jay). After he left Aubrey I had a tough time connecting with Jax until towards the end…. So, Aubrey and Jax go through something very tragic together which connects them. They end up turning to each other for comfort and love after this tragedy. Jax ends up leaving Aubrey to try and distance themselves from one another because he felt like they were enabling one another. I understood and could sympathize what his purpose was. It wasn’t because he didn’t love Aubrey but a way to try and heal. HOWEVER, after he left, I really thought would be still hold on to their love but I felt like he completely moved on. His career takes off and he sleeps around (sometimes it gets old the main guy in books always turns into or was a big whore) and of course with Aubrey, shes stuck int he past. I absolutely HATED that when they are first reunited and see one another she sees him and you can tell shes mentally trying to put up walls but its almost impossible because he makes her weak in the knees but Jax on the other hand? He scoping out what girl he is going to take home…. THAT rubbed me the wrong way…
HOWEVER, towards the end of the book, Jax really opens up and seems to FIGHT for Aubrey. He doesn’t let her shy away or put up walls. He fights for their love and their relationship. So, overall, I REALLY enjoyed this book despite Jax being a dumbass sometimes (heheh).
This second chance romance held me captive from the very beginning with the well written storyline and characters that were so well defined that as each and every page was turned I felt like Aubrey and Jax pulled me right into their journey as it unfolded!
